Going to Luton today (or maybe tomorrow) for the GUKPT this week. Dreading it tbh! Last night was the freeroll trial run for the open face tournament I'm trying to get going in Nottingham. It was so much fun. The real thing will be Tuesday next week, £25+£4 buyin with a (so far unconfirmed) free buffet! It would be really cool to see many blondes and familiar faces down there. Fred shipped it for bragging rights, winners photo but £0 Click to see full-size image. |
Thanks for organizing this. I had loads of fun and learned a lot. I'm definitely going to start crushing on my OFC app. Hope next week is a success. And, good luck in Luton!

Loved the post on Pompeii! I might have to add it to my list. It looks incredible, and it seems like it would be surreal to visit.
Also, good luck with your uni course! Are you an English major by any chance?
Yup Second year Cool! I almost took English in University, but I knew I wouldn't be able to handle the amount of reading. So, I took Professional Writing instead. How are you liking the course so far? I should run my novel by you sometime!

Links to these quizzes?
I just finished the Breaking Bad finale. It was the perfect way to end it.
Sigh... Please guys, would you mind discussing breaking bad on the other thread? I know you're not giving the ending away, but I don't want to read discussions about any aspect of it. Especially not how perfect the ending was. Pretty please..... Sorry about that!

I asked a question at the poker table the other day that stunned seven fellow degenerates into a contemplative silence.
Some context: It's 2am at Dusk Till Dawn and I'm sat in what was a pretty lively £1/2 game that's calmed down now everyone who was stuck has left and we're left with winners and nits. From a few tables away, where they're playing a 50/1 game, there comes a collaborative gasp at what I guess was someone sucking out, then a louder collaborative gasp coupled with one gentleman leaving his seat in a victorious leap with both hands in the air. A sarcastic mutter comes from across our table, "huh, someone just won twenty quid." This was followed by some half-hearted chuckles before the table segued back into a straight-faced plateau.
I asked, "when was the last time anybody here was so happy they jumped for joy?"
A combination of despair and realisation exuded from the eyes of everyone present, myself included.
So, Blonde, I ask you: when was the last time you jumped for joy, or were so happy you could have done if it were appropriate?
This discussion goes aways back, but I jumped for joy the first time in my life today. I've been broke lately, so I had to put off the purchase of GTA V until next month (FWP). An hour ago, Sean showed up with the coveted game. I leaped out of my seat and jumped around for about five minutes. It looked like this: I have been this happy before (the last time was probably on our wedding day), but I've never had the opportunity to literally jump for joy. Just wanted to post this here because it's semi-relevant, and it embarrasses the author.

And in the evening we took Beth's recommendation again for a restaurant and ate at Sensi Tapas, which was absolutely incredible. Probably one of the top 5 meals I've ever had. I do love Tapas a lot, but every dish was just awesome. The menu was so good, we just wanted to order three of everything!
Yeahhhh, I'm 2 for 2 with restaurant recommendations! Looks like you had a great time on your trip; wishing you the best of luck in poker this month!
