I really enjoy your posts kukushkin88.  Think you and Doobs have provided really great posts, analysis, links throughout.  Keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear.

I have a very similar backstory to you.  I took it up again 2 years ago after doing much the same as you between age 12 and 16.  Now absolutely hooked.  In terms of clubs, I did go down the pre-owned route, getting all my clubs through GolfBidder.  Excellent quality and haven't had a problem.  With having a long break without playing, I was advised to get Ping's due to a lower spin rate and the overall "forgiveness" (the word every beginner golfer wants to hear).  Got a set of G10 irons 3-PW (literally could count the number of times I've hit the 3 and 4), a Glide 2.0 56°, i20 Hybrid, G Driver, 3 and 5 wood, and a Cadence TR Rustler putter.  Love them all.

With work/kids I'm only getting out once a week at most, so improvement hasn't been as quick as I want.  Off 22 atm, but determined to actually work on getting it down this year.

Also can't stop watching as much golf as physically possible.  Nick Dougherty an excellent follow on IGram, and Rick Shiels podcast and videos entertaining and understandable.  Look forward to following the story.  Good luck!

General election in NI turned massively tactical.  In Belfast North, only 3 names on the ballot as SDLP pulled out to give Sinn Fein a better chance, and UUP pulled out to boost the DUP.  Nigel Dodds the DUP candidate, who has had the seat since 2001, but John Finucane (son of Pat Finucane) should push him very close.  It's been a strange campaign, where after years of voter education driving people away from tribal Green/Orange voting, it's gone full circle.  Should be an interesting night....

Remember when this thread used to ooze positivity?

Went for the Ireland game last November.  Actual game was moved to Aarhus, which is definitely not worth a visit, but Copenhagan itself was incredible.  Somehow had more Irish bars that anywhere I've ever been.  Some relatively cheap nightlife near the train station.  Some of the bars were wildly expensive, but definitely value to be had if you go looking.  Loved Tivoli and would highly recommend.  The walk to the little mermaid is LONG, but a few nice bars with outdoor fires to stop at and warm up.  You're probably a bit early for the Christmas market, but there were dozens last November, which served great food.  Make sure to drink some Glogg while you are there for a winter warmer!

Tbf, I log on to this thread a few times every day, but it's turned into morbid curiosity more than anything else.  I'm sure I'm not alone to say it's a topic that I'm hugely interested in, and enjoy discussing on many platforms, but am put off from posting here by the toxic nature of a few posters.  AdamM's post reflected my thoughts pretty much exactly!
Exactly my thoughts, have written loads and deleted, not worth the grief..

Tbh it’s pretty unlikely you guys would get any grief. It’s mostly isolated to the small group of us who stick it to each other regularly, and we all know what we’re getting into when we stick our heads above the paprapit.

It's an environment issue Woodsey.  Pages of back and forth and one-upmanship are painful to read nevermind actually trying to join in and have a conversation in the middle of.  The last few pages have been a prime example of this.

If the backstop was originally a UK proposal...

...And not imposing one is an impossibility for the EU...

What exactly was the EU’s ‘workable’ proposal before we suggested the backstop solution??

Trade border in the Irish Sea.  DUP claimed it was unacceptable.

Former Northern Ireland Secretary tells Crick that troubles in Northern Ireland will return with No Deal Brexit

https://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/michael-crick-ireland-troubles-no-deal-brexit/

I really don't get this shit.

We have several Irish in our office from both sides of the border. Neither see any reason for this. What actually changes to prompt people to want to fight again, after peace for so long.....bar of course the media and remainers actually courting it........

There was a shooting in Omagh on Wednesday.

But hasn't there been sporadic violence all along?

Is there anything to link the potential of Brexit with any increase? Or is it just more attention being thrown on it?

Under GFA, people in NI have the right to be Irish or British.  Hard border will be seen to be splitting Ireland in 2 again, and impact the perceived nationality of the 'Northern' Irish.  Checkpoints at the border will be a target for nationalists.  Communities won't change (vast, vast majority want peace), but paramilitaries will react.

Hi Marty

for the purposes of understanding, Marty is from NI and last i knew lives there too (haven't seen him for a number of years though)

I do indeed - Belfast born and bred.  Moved to London for a couple of years, but I'm a homebird and couldn't stay away for too long.

Yea, this thread has turned from a must read to childish drivel very quickly. Does post count matter as much as content? The name calling, aggressive, "I'm right / you're wrong" attitude (on both sides) is exactly what stops new members or lurkers from posting. Tightys superb content throughout has now been replaced from cries of troll and 3 year old jeers of "turd chaser." Should be embarrassing but seems to have been accepted as the norm.

New level of troling by arboy, its nae wonder you can't get one of those 25k a year loltrader jobs.  You can't placy nicely with ther others tards.
Seriously KMac you are doing neither you or your cause any favours with stuff like that.

Ok sorry, dad.
Funnily enough, you do come over like an over-excited child.

And your a quisling.  But hey ho.

I was very much in favour of YES from day 1, but I have to say KMac, you are going the right way to putting anyone off.  He who shouts the loudest, does not always win, despite what you seem to think.  You need to reread this thread, and take a look at the petty, immature way you come across.  Don't assume people who disagree with you are automatically wrong.

Anyway...I'm from Belfast, and this is obviously causing quite a few debates on this side as well.  This is the view of Blacks Mountain from the motorway...

Meanwhile we both know that you would swop Moyes for Wenger in a heart-beat.

As a United fan, I can safely say there is a 0% chance I would swap Moyes for Wenger!

Shot in the dark guesses are not going to get this.
