1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: WPT UK at DTD: £1m GTD 7th-23rd November on: November 18, 2014, 03:09:22 PM
I've now read thru the updates of the 500 and think that they were pretty good, especially considering how busy it was on the last couple of day 1s. Certainly was just as good as all of the other updates out there for the various tours.

However a Tighty blonde update just feels so much more interactive.  The banter from players and raiders plus Tighty did somehow get in a few more hands an hour than the industry standard.

Whenever I played a day 1 that Tighty was covering, I'd always read thru after play had finished and enjoy it.  In fact I don't think I missed any update thread In the last few years of any tournie that Tighty covered.

The only times I look thru updates now, regardless of the tournament, is to try and get info on other players.

Near the end when there were 4 tables or less he was posting about once every 45minutes. This seems a lot of time to write 3 sentences.

Yeah the updates are so irregular they become pointless

Is Dusk til Dawn's absurd position of refusing to allow deals happening in this?

Who owned them? They sponsored spurs for a while! How did they have so much money to punt off?

Not a great fan of high rake but guessing a 6 max event costs more in terms of dealers?

I reckon the difference isn't so much. Although you need more tables at the start, people lose faster as it's more aggressive.

Rake a bit steep on this event! 900+100!

Also it's partly a supersat. Maybe people don't want to or can't play the event it sats in to.

Do people like having every grand prix as basically a super satellite?

I think shot clocks would actually be a really bad idea as they would make the game too regimented. I think instead people need to clock call a lot more.

I don't think anyone is opposed to people taking time when facing a tough decision. Guy said u should never call the clock in cash. I disagree.

Of course u should be able to call it in cash. When someone takes forever every hand why should they waste my time messing about or tanking when they nearly always fold but don't want to? It's even worse if it's a timecharge game.

It attractsll the sickos and is a turn off for all the old men fish. I enjoy playing 6 maxes but a buy in of 1.1k is too much for a laugh when it's a tough field.
