There’s a huge upsurge in people registering to vote, what does it mean? Who’s likely to profit? The Tories don’t seem to be pushing it.

I’ve re-registered so I can vote in Sheffield Hallam, but I’ve already received my polling card at my H&B address. Not sure what will happen 🤷‍♂️

The polling from many different polls is just saying the same. Labour is up, Tories slightly down and LD dropping significantly. It’s pretty clear to see that Labour aren’t going to be losing as many voters as you think to LD. It’s also fascinating to see Labour doing so well considering Brexit and Corbyn.

More people have registered to vote, mainly young people. There are now more younger people allowed to vote as they’ve now turned 18. Labour up in the polls. Voters seem more switched on. It’s mainly positives for remain parties.

I’m over the moon to be on over 200 Labour seats and my insane prediction is that Labour will get over 250. I’ve not been drinking, promise

I’d definitely not be happy taking that 1/3 LD in Sheffield Hallam.

What happens if Tories end up with 310-320 Tory MP’s?

for every pound the Conservatives are pledging to spend on the current budget by 2023/24, Labour will spend over £28.

 For every pound.

Astonishing.  difference between the two major parties

The thing is that the Tories have put people into Austerity and Labour are trying to pull people out from under the car. Labour's plan is costed too and economists don't say it'll bankrupt us.

I think I hheard on Sky News earlier that daily spending for Tories is £3bn and Labour £95bn.

Labour - "Our manifesto is fully costed"

Also Labour - "We'll spend another £58bn on WASPI women pensions, which wasn't in our fully costed manifesto.  We're not counting this as expenditure, as it's a one-off settlement"

tbf this announcement is ridicilous. Btw why do you want a hung parliament?

I thought I'd post this, because there's not going much in this section and it's happened again.

The last few months I have had the WORST of luck and it has come in the most agonising way possible. It has been an endless amount of very last minute winners or VAR farces and today is no similar.

A few weeks ago I had a bet for both Liverpool and Fulham to win both halves of their matches, Liverpool obliged. Fulham was playing Luton that night and was winning both halves until they let a goal in at the 95th minute. I ad them both in singles and a big priced double. It happens, move on.

The day after that I had a treble in the Europa League for interest. It was two other teams who had and Roma and Gladbach. They let a goal in the 94th minute when they conceeded a penalty in which the referee said Chris Smalling handballed it, when it didn't. There in so VAR in Europa League group stages.

Everton played Spurs in early November and I had a big single on Spurs. It was the game Son injuted one of their players and Everton scored in like the 97th minute. VAR ruled it to be a red card, but days later it was rescinded.

Yesterday I had a bet on Man City to win both halves. City didn't deserve to be in front in the first half, but they was. Then in the very last minute Sterling scored a goal that was ruled out for offside, I have looked at that goal and it wasn't offside, was it?

Today I went and chucked a few quid at United v Man United. I had United in a single (with hope the 2up might save me if something ridic happens) and win BTTS. Not a huge bet, just a decent interest. Man Utd never deserved that win, but they was in front somehow. But here comes VAR. I am of the opinion that United's equaliser was handball.

Was Sterling offside? Was Sheffield United's equaliser handball?

I've literally never had such terrible luck. There are like 2/3 more very recently too, but I can't remember them all. We all lose, some late on, but this is literally the worst luck I've ever had? Have people had similar bad luck and how they deal with it?

Polls out today suggest Tories are up in the polls in Scotland. Not massively, but polling better than you'd expect. I still expect them to lose a lot of their seats, hence why I struggle to see where this majority is going to come from.

I did look at their target seats an compared to other parties, they have dozens and dozens of seats they can pick up where they are only 5,000 or less votes behind. That's where I assume people predict a majority, but the Brexit Party are still surely going to pick up votes from Tories? What's the average % of Tories going to Brexit Party? Are Labour leavers going to be able to vote Tory or just tick Brexit Party? I'd assume so. But then the spending Labour have announced might *still* keep those potential voters.

As for the Lib Dems their polling has dropped since the dreadful Jo Swinson became leader with her dreadful stop Brexit plan. Where are their votes going? Are the then Labour to Lib Dems now moving back because of her?

Also, I feel all this polling doesn't take into account number of young people allowed to vote now. 2 more years of people being allowed to vote. They do tend to be more switched on than older voters regarding tactical voters and tend to be remain party voters. Older voters are typically not interested in or even heard of tactical voting. If I told my Dad the only way to stop Tories was to vote green, he'd still vote Labour, even if his ex-wife was leader.

And looking at Labour policies, polling, Swinson response and other little bits, I wouldn't be happy with 1/3 on Lib Dem taking Sheffield Hallam. I'll be trying to vote Labour if I can vote there.

Over or under? (via Paddy Power)

Con: 340.5   Lower

Labour: 208.5  Higher

Lib Dem: 27.5    Higher

SNP: 47.5    Higher

........ if the Tories can't get over the magic 325, and Libdems wont support a Corbyn Gov....do Labour change leader?  ....do the Libdems give way? talktothehand....or another election?

No over/under for the brexit party?

The bookies line is 0.5.

Have to say, I don't think they really laid a glove on Johnson - I'm obviously a bit biased around Brexit but not on many other issues so I think its fair to say that Corbyn, Sturgeon and Johnson all did pretty (and fairly equally well). Swinson just didn't have a chance with Labour so intent on dismantling her

Johnson usual bluster

Corbyn
Johnson/Sturgeon

Swinson

Jo Swinson didn’t get a full 30 minutes

Boris Johnson is on from 20:27

Where are the Lib Dem voters in this audience. Feels very unbalanced to me.

I think it shows how far backwards LD have gone. Yet here we sit thinking Labour are in for a tough time. Also surprised at joe menu remain voters hate the stop Brexit policy

10-11 on under 39 looks good

The biggest mistake the Liberal Democrat’s have made is appointing Swinson. She is utterly dreadful and getting torn apart on TV. No wonder they’re polling significantly less.

I don't quite understand why people are so against potential nationalisations. Yes, they're going to cost money, but in a reported I read two days ago, it said they would get there money back within years. Not only that but broadband, gas and public transport need a kick up the ass.

I'm also happy to see an increase in health and social care. I don't know if any of you noticed this year, but a mother and father killed their kids in Sheffield in May and I live across the road from them. It has been a complete eye opener to see the complete and utter failure of social services in what could have prevented their horrific deaths.

Sure it's going to cost money. I get it.

But you know what? People matter.

Could be something to do with remembering how shit all these services were when they were previously nationalised.

Combine that with the prospect of them being run by a government which is under the control of Corbyn, McDonnell, Milne and McCluskey.

It really doesn't bear thinking about.

Fair point, I’m not old enough to remember
