106  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: 1010 Final table 4 handed. on: March 12, 2012, 06:42:26 PM
The limp call with is a terrible play. If you gonna call a over jam why not raise it pre then fold to a jam? would be the more logical root.

The 10s it would depend how much he has been playing back at me and others while 4 handed, I would not just go by his 3bet % as this can be mis leading  as im guessing these stats are from the FT that you have given. Now 4 handed he could of been 3betting alot more lighter and as you put he never showed any resisitence to yourself so maybe he was just playing you...  Myself i would be jamming the 10s depending on the stats i have in front of me.. With the details you have posted i would be jamming his arse!!

The 3x bet online is not always a strong play and good solid players online won't go that big in there 3bet sizing with hands like up as they want to extract value and get a 4bet light back into them. this bet looks more like or to me. If had some more stats from HEM could let you know what the numbers are saying to do regarding his range

Would be interesting to of seen which hand he did have though...

Good luck in this - I am also playing UKIPT which will only be my Second Big Live Tourney - what are you doing to prepare for this - anything different?

Not a great deal different then i would for a big online game or long live cash session. Staying fresh by getting plenty of rest ready for the day. Studying my  hand history's from online and different strategy ideas for deepstack games along with basic brushing up on different elements of poker with regards to ranges etc etc. I will also be playing a few deepstack tournys on pokerstars as it has the same kind of feel to them.

Gl in the ukipt aswell

A more appropriate apology would be for putting this in completely the wrong thread.

GL in the comp.

Sorry for posting here then still figuring out where to go on here!

Thanks

Well its nearly time for my first major live game in the UK and i cant express how excited i am to play against some of the best players in the UK.

Alot of you might never of seen me about in the live circuit due to the fact i used to play online professional for 2 and a half years on UB/AP where i used to be one of the MTT regs on there site and would a memeber of poker xfactor until the dreaded black friday which killed the site. Before that i used to just play live at the local snooker club in a weekly game where none other then my mate Tommy 'The Beast' Bingham played when i believe we first started playing (feels like years ago!!).

This year i aimmed on moving my game from online to live and i can say so far it has been great. tourny wise at DTD i have only played like 4 events cashing in 1 and getting close to bubble in 2 others with some hands you would only expect online!! The rest i have been playing the cash tables at DTD on the 50p/£1 tables. Where i can say i was only like a hour off a free super 50 seat. But i can't complain as i only had one session where i lost like £60. All my other times i have ran £150 upto around 500-600 each time.

So friday is the GUKPT ME in Walsall which I'm looking forward to because of the great structure and is one of the oldest tours around. It's the first time i have ever been to the Venue and played this game. So any tips on anything including poker of course Cheesy would be much appreciate. Will be meeting up with a few players i know, like Peter Wigglesworth and discussing some strategy and othe things. So if any of you are going feel free to say stop me and say hi...

I'm basically am freerolling in this event as i play for a Sponsered team on Bluesqaure and i basically got in for nothing which is always good Smiley gonna be doing the same for the UKIPT as well So i will see more of you there again.

It would be great to meet up and get to know some of the Blonde members personally when I'm about playing in some games. I have met a few people since my travels to DTD and i can say 95% of the people i have met have been nice and friendly and always looking at improving there game like i do, i do love talking about hands and strategy.

Anyways good luck to all Blonde members at the GUKPT this week and hopefully speak soon and see you at the Final table Smiley

PS: I'm not one for writing blogs so i apologize for typos, grammar or nothing making sense. lol

117  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: 99 30 bbs deep 6 handed, can I call a 3 bet in postition? on: February 27, 2012, 12:49:37 PM
Defo fold can't see this kind of player making a raise like this with less then 99. It looks like he is wanting some kind of value and your not getting the right odds to call to set mine. Cant imagine Ak doing this either. Plus you have a guy sat behind with not many chips.

So its definate not a calll its a fold or shove. But the best option is fold here

120  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: AKhh vs fishy player on: February 24, 2012, 11:59:47 AM
I can see the benifits to this play against a good player such as yourself or Mitch and i would
be happy to make it playing either of you my problem here is its a massive pot and the guy is unlikely
to fold a hand that we are flipping with for 220bbs and he is likely to get it in with much weaker
holdings if we bibe our time (Third pair like he did later for his stack say).

Nits are gonna nit i guess

d

With fold equity + equity against his whole calling range, shoving is definitely +ev.

There is no such thing as waiting for a better spot! If the spot seems profitable then it is a spot you should take Smiley

This is exactly my point i was trying to make t my friend. Its definate +ev i find better players might fold here  as well and tbh i never minded getting in VS villian if he had a hand like this as i have plenty of outs.

Would not put him on the 2 or 66 as he was slow playing every monster flop he hit.
