Also true about Vegas, I've been in some unfavourable situations too. The same can be said about drinking in any nightclub in England or walking down the wrong street at night.
If you have drunk you willingly altered your state of mind and changed actions/behaviour putting yourself at risk somewhat. - Obviously nobody is going to not drink or enjoy theirselves because of potential risk in Vegas until something serious happens to them or friends. They might not plan to drink a bottle of Vodka and 10 beers in Iran because it's a different scenario and their perceived risk is a lot higher.
If there is a terrorist attack there is next to nothing you can do about it and there is a high chance you will die if caught up in it, that is without drinking or waving an anti Islamic banner, it's just by being in the country.

But surely the point is, if you booked knowing there was a risk, then that risk hasn't changed, and if it has changed, then it's changed for the better?
Also true if you were aware of the previous attacks and unrest. I was looking for a cheap short haul holiday for a week leaving the next day or within the week a month ago, I could have gone to any number of Tunisian hotels for £230pp all inclusive but I never considered it. If you could get a refund on this one and weren't put off by another attack I'm sure prices will drop even more if any UK travel agents offer them.

Absolutely no chance
I quantify basically everything I do on some sort of scale be it risk or otherwise, consciously or subconsciously, and even a 10000/1 chance this could happen again over a 2 week period is not worth the risk for me. I couldn't enjoy myself and would be looking over my shoulder the whole time. Let alone leaving my family to worry about me for the time I was gone. Hard to put numbers on it but it feels smaller than 10000/1 for a dangerous situation to arise.

Really enjoyed reading this diary, don't think I've missed a post in months. Learn new things all the time. It has been an especially fun read during Vegas and even got me to play a Big O tournament which I never would have done; I enjoyed it than any other game this summer.
Commiserations on the bust out, they always hurt so much more at the end of the day but congratulations on a hugely successful Vegas trip all the same!

Time for some more tournaments, have played around 25 hours of cash since the last tournament. Winning 5k overall between 2/5 and 5/10 games, out of the 10 games I played in 8 were very good but they were probably helped by being EDC weekend. Today I'm playing the 600 Big O at Venetian thanks to reading Tikay's blog, I know its not the "Highest EV" or biggest guarentee but I really enjoy the game and it should be good fun, not selling anything for this one though. I have a few other things planned including a Lake Mead trip on Thursday so I'm feeling good enjoying my time here, certainly not stressed or not-enjoying the game! Saturday 27th $1600 Venetian 500k Guarenteed (if not in day 2 of Planet Hollywood $1150 but not selling for this)
Wednesday 1st July 1500 Bounty WSOP Event
Sunday 5th July - Main Event I will sell a maximum of 25% to the sides and will be selling at 1.2 XE Rate at the time of this post is 1.572 so will lock it in there. (1600+1500)*1.2 = $3720 or (3720/1.572)=£2366 1% = $37 or £23 5% = $185 or £118 10% = $370 or £236 I've also spoken to others including Pads and Fraser who want 10% each of the main and the consensus is 1.3 is fair. So Mark up for the main will be 1.3 if buying <5% and 1.25 if buying 10% or more.1% = $130 or £82 5% = $625 or £397 10% = $1250 or £795 Main Event Interest List
Pleno - 10% Fraser - 10% Private - 5% Adam - 4% Alex - 3% Dom - 3% Eso - 2% Cos - 2%
39% Reserved 11% Remaining
If any of you guys want to unreserve just post here or send me a PM, would like all funds sent to me before Day 1A Sunday 5th July Payment same as last time, cash in Vegas is fine or if you need bank details send me a PM. I can also accept money on Pokerstars but only if you have the facility to send in £ rather than $. Also happy to swop in anything and would prefer to swop than sell action in the Main.

Just asked Aaron what he would do in these hands and he said without any prompting or suggestions, 50 preflop 80 on the flop check fold the turn. "It's the most straight forward easiest hand of all time" lol

Bigger hand one, 50 preflop and bigger on flop, pot is 110 and you bet 50 on JT4 with a flush draw, there's not much that calls for 50 that would fold for 80, 50 would be fine on T42r but not on this really wet board that hits both of them. Turn it's gone 3 ways, you have been raised by someone in Vegas who has cold called a 3bet and the board is QJT, you have the right price to call but it's not a great spot. Prefer check folding turn to anything else. The population isn't going to bet KJ, AJ, KQ or AQ from experience and KK blocks a lot of the KQ KJ KT you are supposed to get value from. Obviously lead river small if you get there and check fold if you don't. Hand 2 is annoying and depends entirely on how the guy has been playing, I tend to call these a lot, only need to be good 1/3 and "I didn't think you had the King". Something to consider is raising turn and checking back the flush/J and to get value from Jacks/pairs and all sorts of flush and broadway draws that won't fold, again depends on if the guy stabs at pots and if he does can call turn and call river Hand 3 nice hand i'd play the same. Vs unknowns and weaker players it's a nice sizing on flop with particular hand, can even go as small as 20. If you have QJ+ or A3 T8 QT AK AQ KQ KTdd can bet anything from 50-100. If we are in a game together at any point take note of my sizings vs identified weaker players, you will be able to start naming my hole cards before showdown, Nick says nice hand or "oops" when opponents call my river bets now lol.
