Thanks for all the updates Rich / TK, let Carl and Andrew know the whole of THS are right behind them, hoping to get over there before it finishes, just waiting for the other half to arrive home.

Interesting name in the results from Amstel Gold

7th Julian Alaphilippe (Fra) Etixx - Quick-Step

Not yet 23 years old, I don't think it will be long until this guy takes a big win.

Fleche Wallone on Wednesday

Have gone with Gilbert at 14/1 which looks like great value to me.

He looked strong up the Cauberg in Amstel Gold and distanced everybody other than Matthews when he attacked.  His team look super strong and he knows how to win on the Mur so will definitely be there or there abouts at the finish.

Could have done without Nibali riding across to that break, Rosa is going to cook himself now pushing on for Nibali.

Struggling to see a lot of value in the Amstel betting, I think the win is wide open and Gilbert is way too short at 3/1, Valverde at 11/2 seems about right but tees is no stand out favourite for this in my opinion.

I also know that Dan Martin fancies his chances and believes he can win this race and I think he'll go very close.

I agree Ulissi at 150/1 looks a decent outside bet and almost went for that bet myself.

In the end I've gone for an outrageous outsider at 250/1 e/w in Diego Rosa.  Nathan Haas also has an outside chance at the same price.

I'll also have a few quid on Dan to win as I'd love to see him win this one.

I'd noticed Dan has been talking up his form, hope he goes well for you.

I'll also have an eye on Michael Valgren, leading Tinkoff, talented youngster.

I have friends who Know Dan Martin personally and I know he's confident of his form and when he's talki like that he usually does pretty well Smiley

Going to try one more cycling bet see if I can get one on the board.

Wednesday 24th September - UCI World Cycling Championships Elite Mens Individual Time Trial.

Paddy Power - Fabian Cancellara to win @ 7/1 - I recommend a punt for a tenner.

Tony Martin is hot favourite to win this as the guy is just a machine, however today in the Tour of Spain time trail, Cancellara completed the back end of the course very marginally faster than Tony Martin which suggests he might have the kind of form to challenge Martin at the worlds and if anyone can beat him it's Cancellara at his very best.

Martin is just not worth backing at 1/2 but at 7/1 Cancellara looks a good bet.

Paddy Power currently offering Cancellara at 7-1

That was tighter than I had hoped, I'd not really looked into the stage much other than knowing it was a 36km time trial, hadn't realised the first 1/3 of the route was quite that hard!

Anyway, thankfully Tony Martin pulled through and made me some free money.

Interesting thing about the stage for me was that Cancellara actually came home (after the top of the climb) marginally quicker than Tony Martin if you look at the splits.  If he comes of the back of the Veulta with good form and gets his final preparation right, he might just cause a mini upset at the Worlds.  Maybe worth a bet if anywhere is offering a decent price.

Got £50 on Tony Martin to win today, he better not mess up!

Cycling

Very long shot this one, but since Bradley Wiggins has announced that he will nit be part of the Sky team at this years Tour de France, there has been an awful lot of momentum behind a campaign to get him to ride.  I have a suspicion that one way or another he might find a way to be on the start line in July, this could even be for another team, I suspect there may be a move from Orica Green Edge for him.

If he gets a ride, He definitely has the firm right now to make the podium.  As I said, a long shot as there is every chance that he won't start the race, but a £10 E/W bet is worth a punt in my opinion as his odds have gone out massively where bets are still available, I suggest taking the best odds you can possibly get, Betfair seems to be the best option right now.

I wouldn't be 100% sure of that!  I have a suspicion he will find a way to get a ride, there's an awful lot of momentum and support behind him at the moment.

Can't wait for the race today, one of the highlights of the cycling season, after such a great race in Flanders last week I have a feeling this one is going to be a classic Roubaix.  Hoping to see Spartacus come into the velodrome alone to win it again but have a feeling it might be Vanmarke's time this year.
