i noticed on your news page a report on willie getting a deal with betfair

i thought willie was a member of the "world poker team" (jac arma's crew)
has that crew split, deal ended or has willie decided he didnt like carring the rest any more (only joking guys)

btw congrats on your new deal willie met and played you 3 times and on all occassions you were pleasant to play with

with more and more players getting sponsored
deals will be come more and more unlikely even
small ones to pay bubble boy this is because sponsors wont allow it

during an event i was in last year a deal was proposed to give everyone coming back for
a 2nd day some money (an extra 2 players)
being as it was the first time i had ever gotten this far in a 2 day event had no sleep, sugar levels were all
to chit and all i knew was i had half an average stack and no details on the rest of the stacks i was happy for this
a couple of players said they couldn't do deals offically so the event went on with the next 2 out walking away with nothing
lucky i avoided being 1 of those 2 by folding my first 2 hands of the day

sorry tikay

forgot to tell you

just after my last email to you i was out shopping (hate shopping it should be banned) and to avoid a kid running into my path i took a detour off a kerb. end result is left leg is 3 times as big as it should be and all cut and bruised etc etc. so didnt fancy flying with an injured leg.

as for should there be a penalty then the answer is of course but how can you prove it was intentional even with CCTV footage it would be impossible so therefore and impossible rule to judge fairly and therefore a word to the floorman who would come over rule in the favour of the home player who would applogies and think twice before pulling a stunt on the newbie next time
33019  Poker Forums / Live Tournament Updates / Re: New Super-Casinos on: February 23, 2005, 03:43:17 PM
the down side to them is poker wont get huge card rooms in them infact poker might not even get small card rooms in these super casinos

casinos use poker to draw people in play the house games, poker makes them very little if not any money so they would rather do with out bulky card rooms taking up space where they can fit huge amounts of machines what are in effect cash cows to the casino.

now these super casinos wont need to draw poker players into them as they will already have none gambling draws (50% of the casinos floor space has to be put aside for nin-gambling atractions ie resturants and concert halls) so why would they want to use up a large area of the gambling space for poker players when they will already be able to attract punters by less expensive ways

so in other words bigger casinos with more attractions mean smaller card rooms and less poker (unless Tv poker goes manistream very unlikely)

last time i checked the rankings player unknown was doing quite well having played more events than everyone else and had a nice seat in top 5
33021  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Hand Etiquette on: February 23, 2005, 01:20:05 PM
about an hour into a PLHE event and you folded A9o?Huh?Huh?

i guess as you had been dealt nothing all game you would have
a smallish stack compared to the table with all the rebuys

why were you not all in???

remember you can always rebuy and your getting close to the end of the rebuys?
and scraping into the freezeout section with a small stack puts you at a huge disadvantage

unless it was a big buy in event which with so many callers i doubt folding the A9o in this postion was a mistake not least because at that stage of the event the A9o could of been the best ace out there as during the rebuys people will raise reraise and call with alot less

now donw to the question as new players we are always at a disadvantage, if you are unhappy with something always ask for a ruling, but don't get hung up if the ruling goes against you, its more than likely the ruling is correct but there is always the chance of a hometown ruling but they are less likely to try something on you if you call for a ruling.

i remember once playing in a tourny having 3200TP (anyone who has seen me at the table know i sit there counting my chips every other hand) i pushed all my chips in on a reraise one of the stacks toppled over and the guy in teh next seat leant over and helped me move the chips witch had now miraclously changed to 2700TP the player sat next to me had now a large pile of smaller chips (when i had been looking at his stack it was short stack of larger chips)
i questioned wether he was going to put the chips back, when everyone including the dealer stood up for the other player i dropped my complaint but they would have noted that i was not scared to complain and also note that i will be watching much closer next time.
33022  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Article Idea (online poker rooms review) on: February 07, 2005, 07:33:27 PM
i personally wont trust any review on the net unless its from a site that has nothing to hide by not having any affilate links

i was tempted to work on a site like this a year ago as i wouldn't be doing it for profit but decided there just wasnt the market for it as there are so many affilate and cash back programs that the free site would not stand a chance aas buissiness always beats charity
33023  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Omaha dead, or Paris dead ? on: February 07, 2005, 12:52:27 PM
problem is casinos are too big a target
last year i remember speaking to a well known
sponsored player in the vic who had just
been mugged outside the vic on a trip to the ATM

made me look over my shoulder as i went back to hotle that night
33024  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Which version of Tournament Hold 'em do you prefer? on: February 07, 2005, 09:29:44 AM
I will conceed you make a few very good points there ironside BUT i think we digress. All i wanted to know is which version you prefer!!! Undecided
As in, a straighjt choice. Lets imagine, a 100 freezout tourney. PL or NL...in fact i really have gone past the point of caring..... Wink

the poll question is which would you rather see played in uk casinos

i would rather see PLH rebuys played in the uk casino weekly games to keep the number of people intrested and coming back

i would rather play PLO freezeout but as there aren't any in the uk i guess i will have to wait till i get a passport
33025  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Which version of Tournament Hold 'em do you prefer? on: February 06, 2005, 10:40:52 PM
as was pointed out to me when i first started playing live, rebuys are the only way to make these weekly events

because joe bloggs normally travels an hour to get to casino and an hour home afterwards he isnt going to go to casino
if he is going to have to go home after 5 minutes because he was badly outdrawn

personally i would prefer to play a small buy in freezeout but the number of players playing in these would fall and the profitablity is also reduced as people looking to make profit from the weekly events rely on maniac A making on average 3 rebuys for every 1 of his
33026  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Which version of Tournament Hold 'em do you prefer? on: February 06, 2005, 10:07:08 PM
question is still flawed as most big holdem events in the uk are NLHE
the small 10 and 20 weekly events are PLHE but because of structures
are played as NLHE unless there has been a case of rebuy madness

33027  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Which version of Hold 'em do you prefer? on: February 06, 2005, 09:49:02 PM
your question and poll are flawed

1st you dont make the difference between cash and tourny
2nd most big tournys in the UK are allready NLHE and PLHE makes up the bulk of the small weekly games

PLHE and NLHE are very similair and because of this there will be no change from the present NLHE for the big festivals and PLHE for weekly games

cash games need to take a lead from the USA and become limit at low levels then people with limited funds know they can play without busting out in 1 hand
33028  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Posting sample hands on: February 04, 2005, 03:31:38 PM
This situation clearly never arises for me as a starting hand of ks 10s would give me enough cause to shovel all of my chips in pre-flop as I like to gamble

I also play my poker without thinking to much of my current bankroll as sometimes this may cause your judgement or perception of the value of your hand to change.

if you like to shovel all your chips in preflop with rags such as KTs what current bankroll do you have? and credit card limit not used doesnt count as a bankroll

KTs is a hand that should rarely be played preflop and is really hard to play on the flop as you rarely flop a strong hand with it

but if your going to play it and you get a flop like this with 13 clean outs you have to close it down by betting
once you check and miss the turn you now have to fold to the bet

when i say you only have 13 outs they is a chance you have more but chances are they would improve his hand as hands that a limper in EP could have AA,KK ------- 99 including all the suited conectors and gapped conectors inbetween
unless your oppo is elblondie when he could be limping early with any 2 knowing full well he can out play you later

nice site guys and best of luck with it

glad to see you have a forum up and running with decent software too

few improvements i would like to see to the forum to make it smoother

1) new disscussion in general caterory "how to" so that people looking for help in there game can post hands etc etc to get help on without  reading thru all the junk that I and many others post on the general board

2) a disscussion in tournment news where travel and casino info can be swappped this will also help people looking to travel or goto new casinos get the info they need without seeing Myself and sensitive sammy fighting over fire safety in a mulitstory building
