Oh yea, it's a double room too

Hi, I've made a bit of an error and double booked myself into two hotels for this trip and i'm past the free cancellation time. Before I cough up €119 for nothing I'm wondering if anyone would need a room at Flannery's from 6th Aug (Tuesdsay) checking out 11th August (Sunday). Here's their website http://www.flanneryshotelgalway.com/home.htm

I've paid £543.64 / €625 for that booking, if this looks alright to anyone who hasn't sorted their accom yet i'd happily take £500 / €578.

Cheers

probably not much point at all in the grand scheme of things, just like any poker tournament really

Any live streaming being done for it?

not sure, but they're bound to do some sort of coverage if only to get people to come to Galway a week early

Really pleased to have been asked to be part of Team UK this weekend at the Full Tilt Poker Galway Festival Heads Up Event. It's a €1k buy in invite only and has 16 players from each country.

I'm almost certainly part of the value but should be quite fun. I like the UK side better overall, think we've got this

best of luck to them and congrats to the four new ambassadors. I think it's good that some real people who you see at more or less every stop on the tour have been picked. Considering that the UKIPT tries to position itself as more of a grass roots/baby EPT tour it's gotta be sensible to go for tour regs rather than sports stars or players who might be a bit big time.

Cheers Jeff for highlighting this.... the handshake/chestpump was amazing!

That 6 minutes watching the video wasn't all wasted tho, the handshake between the Irish fella and Martins was an undoubted highlight

I'm sure I could find a friend, just asking if it's even possible.

I'd rather the money on Stars then have to play it through on FTP at the moment that's all

I definitely don't mind this since you're the only person who can have a flush really, although I think a much better line is bet small ott and overbet jam river since I would expect him to check back the turn a certain % of the time.

This works really well against fish as they call the turn with way too wide a range (any 1 pair hand, gutshots etc), a range that isnt able to call a river overbet. Also when they have a super strong hand they feel the need to raise ur small turn bet so the line works a high % of the time.

These two posts really just clicked for me so thanks both for posting. Nit, when you say 'bet small' are you saying bet 500ish ott then jam (roughly 2.5x psb) river? I almost never do this but it sounds really fun

Agree my range is capped to 1 pair and Franky is absolutely capable of abusing that fact. We also chatted about a really similar spot in person very recently so I was really torn between thinking 'he's 20 tabling here, just fold' and 'we spoke about this spot two weeks ago and he's doing exactly what he said he'd do with lots of different hands vs a capped range'

Aghhhhh

Full Tilt, 170/340 blinds, 25 ante No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 8 Players

MP3: 27,377 (80.5 bb)
CO: 13,826 (40.7 bb)
BTN: 4,186 (12.3 bb)
Hero (SB): 22,372 (65.8 bb)
BB: 11,780 (34.6 bb)
UTG+2: 17,059 (50.2 bb)
MP1: 23,542 (69.2 bb)
MP2: 19,523 (57.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with
2 folds, MP2 raises to 748, 3 folds, Hero raises to 1,950, BB folds, MP2 calls 1,202

Flop: (4,440) (2 players)
Hero bets 2,200, MP2 calls 2,200

Turn: (8,840) (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets 4,025, Hero ?

Firstly, I'm not sure I love my cbet on the flop. Think Check/call might be better.

As played do you prefer check/jam, check/call or check/fold turn? Player is breaking even over 2.5k games and was playing 19/16/2 over 100 hands fwiw

It hasnt been mentioned yet so think its worth saying, utg+1 at a 9 handed table, small antes, i dont mind just folding AJo, im a massive nit tho :-)

very true, was a lazy open from me just seeing AJo, clicking raise and not really looking who had position/was in the BB. given the line up I think I prefer open fold
