I'd be interested if anyone knows any other places I might not have heard of. The more unique and obscure the better.

How many of us should really be working?

Somewhere off strip, there must be launderettes with service wash facilities, but I don't remember seeing one.

There's a decent one on Spring Mountain.

Right behind the Little Crown & Anchor British Pub so you'll have somewhere to get a beer while you wait for the spin cycle.  Grin

I have chosen to apply for a caxton dollar currency card as a way of taking funds out there with me but please feel there is any other cards or a better option to take funds out there with me http://www.caxtonfx.com/currency-cards/

That's fine but be aware that using it in a casino ATM will involve extortinate fees (more than likely).

I've never had a problem using US$ travellers cheques ANYWHERE in Vegas either for paying for goods or cashing for walking around money at the casino cage.

On the subject of Genesis Bravo...they have an app for that. With up to the minute info on games running LIVE.

It's not totally comprehensive as some rooms are using the system but are not yet listed on the app itself.

For Tournament info I love the AllVegasPoker app.

Haven't been able to find anything specific on tethering but as long as you're not downloading movies I suspect you should be OK. No guarantees though...might be worth a rummage on the Simple Mobile site.

In the meantime, if you are interested, I've PDF'd the letters and instructions for viewing: http://goo.gl/ZP14E

As part of the checkout process they offer a micro-sim option for, as I recall, an extra $3.

I went for this one from SIMPLE http://www.mrsimcard.com/smart.html because I was there for 3 weeks and wanted unlimited data. Came to about $100 including shipping IIRC.

The sim arrived with instructions on setting up which won't come as news to you if you've done something like his before. I think I still have them and will scan and link if you need them.

The HTC asked for one number which wasn't included in the instructions but at guessed at 0000 and it seemed to do the trick.

Interesting. Can you tether the data connection do you know? E.g. Can I share the data signal with my iPad? Can't see anything in the FAQ.

TBH I don't know...never tried it. Can't think of a reason why not though without looking through the t&c

I use these people.

I too have an unlocked HTC ONE X and had no issues last year with data or calls / texts.

I presume this is OK as PLO unlikely to be full?

I wouldn't bet on it....it's proved very popular every time APAT has run it.

Didn't sell out last year I meant Smiley

Currently, 97 seats from 108 reserved with 2 months to go.

Just saying!  Grin

[EDIT:] 6 nights from 5th December - $544 + tax.

code MYTIBG looks a smidge cheaper still, even allowing for the $25/day resort fee if collected.

Is that one still going?...nice. I used it for 3 nights in mid-Dec (M-T-W) for $45 a night.

Hi

Just reading through all the advice and wondering if anyone can give a quick recommend for our situation.

Basically there are four of us looking to go. The other 3 are all cash players (although 2 play tourneys too) - I play both but am generally viewing it as an opportunity to grind, party a little and play perhaps a couple of decent tourneys.

We're looking at going some point Mid Nov onwards. The other 3 are really on about keeping the costs minimal. I kinda agree, but at the same time I'm not wanting to be in a flea pit. Can anyone recommend a good time, good location close to all the action at that time???

You might want to consider TI...basically opposite the V.

They have a deal on at the moment...from $69 midweek ranging to $140 for Fri/Saturday with NO RESORT FEE (usually $20+).

Includes...

Quote
Book a Deluxe Room from $79 per night (Sun - Thu) and receive:
No Resort fee (optional)

2-for-1 Draft Beer at Gilley’s Saloon, Dance Hall and Bar-B-Que

2-for-1 Dinner at the Buffet at TI

Save 20% at Oleksandra Spa & Salon (Mon-Fri)

VIP Viewing Access for the Sirens of TI® Show

Free Wifi (in room internet access)

I plugged in 15th November for 10 nights and got less than $1000 (before tax).

[EDIT:] 6 nights from 5th December - $544 + tax.

Otherwise, Harrahs is your best cheap option...5/10 minutes walk to the V and cheap as chips and NO RESORT FEE
