Kinda felt he was laddering and was imagining doomsday scenarios of being up against a set and only being a 60/40 favourite... lol
Fantastic TV though!

Your thinking during this thread seems bizarre, to be kind at best.
To go from asking for advice on staking to gifting money to the kid ... so you can 'do good for others'? If your motivation is to help another human being I can think of a gazillion more positive ways for you to spend your spare cash.... giving money to a young, wannabe pro out of goodness is just wrong on so many levels.
In this kid's case, you would be encouraging a habit for a game he's not yet proven he can beat, and which probability suggests he will not, which in turn could lead him to spending much more of his own money, no doubt less disposable than your cash(!), having gotten a 'taste' for the bigger games. If he wants to be a pro, fair enough, but let him work his way up with his own money from small stakes and earn his stripes first.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm interested in your thoughts on the 3-bettor's sizing being 'small' Dave, if I had Aces-Queens I'd make it a similar size? how much would you make it if you had a premium hand, in his spot?

Can't figure out how to edit but meant to write 'beat preflop' and 'cold calls', the mistypes as they go. Don't ask what a 'shirt' short stack is either, lol

Live poker.... Just sat down on £1/£2 table, taking a shirt stack shot with £140. I open UTG with to £10, older gentleman 3-bets to £27 mid position, young internet chap cold class... Back to me and I ... FOLD. Thoughts on.... - raise size (particularly given my stack size... My thoughts after playing were raise smaller) - decision to fold, is it bad? If so, how bad? ☺️ Needles to say the flop contained a Jack but trying not to be results orientated... In my mind I was best preflop and too short to flat the initial 3-bet, a shove felt like I was getting snapped off by flips/better

If he becomes BITB on the mental side then he may well break the Internet; or make a new one; or simply end poker by winning the lot, in one day, whilst walking the dogs and chomping on a fine cut of steak
