Hi,

Alot of it is to do with immersing yourself into poker as much as possible, reading good resources, talking to other players, hours at the table and repeating the process. Obviously sometimes it feels a little 1 step forward 2 steps back and sometimes new concepts can be confusing, but its important to trust that your brain will catch up Smiley. One of the things that greatly accelerated my learning of the game was actively targeting some of my weaknesses and 'practicing' them for a few weeks at a time. ie. I used to be a super suspicious player when it came to call downs, so i forced myself to always fold when facing heat in any situation that wasn't a clear cut shove/call down. Now this sounds a little counter intuitive when its comes to poker - ie. each situaton is so unique, but my level of ability at the time and emotional attachment to hands always gave me a bias towards calling, so a little time spent 'folding too much' made me much more comfortable with the act of making folds. I also did the same with stuff like my 3/4/5bet preflop game to become more comfortable in upping the aggression.
I believe the more targeted approach can help you find that 'sweet spot' of how much to raise/call/fold in any given situation alot faster than a more general approach where we tend to repeat our previous mistakes again and again once the initial pain of losing the pot is gone.
Finally don't beat yourself up too much about any mistakes you do make - everyone who is good has made many mistakes in order to find out what doesn't work, be patient and enjoy yourself, gl! Smiley

I think anything you would want to rep with a river shove would have bet the turn seen as he would have pair + draw a reasonable amount

Its a 4x check raise vs UTG, so i think hes alot more likely to be strong and stack off here. People don't tend to bluff in this spot a great deal, especially on a passive table. Also when people are "seeing where they are at" they tend to go a little smaller.

With the money in the pot i like the 4bet, although £1/£2 live rarely has the dynamics to 4bet/call JJ imo, even with a little history. I've played with a vietnamese gambler who is always waiting for omaha, he sometimes seems like a super nit but then goes crazy with draws, can't remember his name at all right now though.

Shove flop, your hand is too strong with this much in the pot, and your probably not going to get more value later off other Qx anyway. Him folding his draws is great for you if you shove also, obviously his really strong ones arn't going anywhere, but they probably wont put more money in later unless they hit, so your kinda freerolling him.

Agree with the above, although arriving on the river, hes unlikely to check anything really strong as you should be checking back quite alot. So i quite like bombing the river; you should have all sets in your range, particularly after he bombs the turn - it wouldn't make sense to raise them there as hes usually following a bet like that up. The fact that he probably knows he will be perceived as aggro leads me to believe that he would expect you to let him barrel off. This stops any s/d value hes caught getting through, as well as probably folding out some overpairs.

Like everyone else bet bigger on each street. The turn particularly, that card makes tons of strong 'second best' hands as well as some pair+draw type hands. The straights/worse flushes/2 pair hands made on the turn will nearly always call a big river bet too so it makes sense to punish them + pair and a draw never folds turn but may fold river.

yeah fold, i doubt his raising light from MP with those stacks in the blinds.

Most players fundamentals are pretty strong these days even at <200nl, so i doubt they would fall to pieces. I guess alot of players hourly would drop though for a while due to being able to play less tables. I honestly think some of the weaker regs at these limits are more exploitable with their HUDs if you target them well and abuse their obvious perceptions of your game.

I like bet flop for value vs JT/AT, worse Qx and some PPs/weaker draws, some of this stuff will be tough to get value from when the turn looks ugly for him. Just fold vs check raise though imo, hes nearly always going to follow up with a bet and you have no history so its hard to have a plan on how to proceed. Also an unknown maybe checkraise more combos of top pair than a reg here, so its not safe to assume he can only have KQ/22 as check raise hands.

I don't find that people tend to bluff like this, plus its kinda hard to have a check call turn range that decides to take the consecutive action of lead bluffing. Everything seems consistent with JT, he would probably be more likely to bet himself or check raise with something strong on the turn (the paradox of the fact that he is a weak reg, but probably doesn't know this, and therefore doesn't know you don't have much incentive to call him down light when he does bomb/cr turn with sets?)
These kind of bets on the river i find tend to be hands that are strong but not comfortable check raising, JT would fit that category well also. I think if your hand looked stronger i would find a fold though, with flop call/small turn bet he is probably comfortable going big with JT here.
