Why did the security guard look in your bag after you had gone?

Was just gonna say this, seems pretty irregular

The answer to this is I'm not sure. Everyone who I have told this to has said, the security guard isn't allowed/can't do that - but I can't really argue because at the end of the day, he found those cards. If he found nothing, then I would never know my bag was searched, but when I went downstairs and was presented with my bag - the cards struck my mind - even without saying a word I knew that my bag had been searched while I was upstairs in the card room.

As I said, the cards were in a completely separate compartment to my wallet. I got my bank card out of my wallet and went back upstairs - for some reason he may have thought this was suspicious?

That's very strange, pretty sure he's not allowed to do that but don't know for sure. Best of luck with getting un-banned, seems like an insane situation.

I agree that if he thought something was suspicious, then he could have notified me there and then. I certainly was not behaving in a shady manner, after all I had forgotten I'd left the cards in there.

Whatever he thought he saw - when he went looking, he hit the jackpot and thunderball all in one..

I'm not sure that having an old deck of cards in your backpack is really that bad, if they were in your pocket it's a whole different story. If they're an old deck you can't have nicked them on the day or had any use out of them, all very strange.

Would say to avoid telling anyone your friends name who gave you the cards if he still works there, imagine that could get him in trouble.

49  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Cash game - number of blinds per hour on: January 23, 2018, 04:46:53 PM
This depends on lots of stuff I'm afraid - for example, if its the sort of game where everyone sits for 100 bbs your hourly is going to be less than if people are sat for 200. Imagine other stuff like frequency of straddles are going to make a reasonable difference too.

If you can manage 10bb/1hr then you're doing pretty well though!

Sincerely hope, even if they do bring it back, that people stay away. More rake is not better.

I already avoid events like the Goliath for this reason. Absolutely disgraceful, they should see if Negreanu is free to do some videos for them.

This is excellent stuff, tended to avoid here for a while but thoroughly enjoying this thread!

I like running it twice, although unfortunately they rake chopped RIT pots at DTD so it's probably not the best thing to do there :p

I just figure if I'm behind I've got two chances to catch up and if I'm ahead I've got two chances to hold, and if people want to get it in lighter against me because I'm happy to run it twice then that has to be a good thing, right?

Has anyone ever told you that you're the best in the business?

Sean Spicer is gone - reckon this will salvage his career? From a casual perspective it looks like he might have regained just a modicum of self respect here.

Moreover, who the hell is going to want that job :p

This can't have happened, I haven't seen a video from DNegs telling us all how amazing this change is and pretending he's still got some integrity left!

This is very strange, I feel like I'm being told off for posting this? He isn't an "unnamed player", he's pretty well known around the midlands and this post was never designed to get back at him, or to make him change his ways, or to make him pay up. Do you all think it would have been better for me to just leave it? So if he goes and nicks some money off someone else, they should just leave it too because you think it's too bowl of an amount to be worthy of posting?

The entire reason for posts like this (from me anyway) is to let people know someone might not be a good investment, so if they start asking people for staking (which seemed like a possibility in this case) or asking people to borrow money etc then if they've seen this they'll know there's a higher chance than usual that they'll get grimmed. This is the main reason why places like the negative feedback thread exist, and why people happily use them. There has been more than a few occasions when that thread in particular has saved people money, and the reason this was posted here as well is because people on here will know him.

If this was just about having a go at the guy, maybe rather than just tell everyone what happened we'd have called him a few names, maybe got a bit aggressive, maybe not said "This is not a post to slate Dan, it’s simply to make everyone here aware of the facts and to tell the truth over this issue, as it's being speculated about somewhat by people as it is", maybe not bothered updating when Dan started paying some of the money back?

Really not sure why I'm basically being told I've done something wrong and should stfu here.
