£25/30 for the candidates tickets sounds a little on the high side at first but if it'll go down as a really memorable day out and I'd rather go to that than spend the same amount of money on a football ticket or a night out.

Also iirc there was some Chess World Candidates chatter iit. Unibet have priced up Carlsen at 1.65, the Marathonbet price has came into 1.533 and on Betfair there's £5 to back @1.7 and £1285@1.67. Personally it wouldn't surprise me if he kicks off at an even lower price.

I'm avoiding paranoia but am waiting to see if any of the big hitters put up a market (am expecting Ladbrokes and Paddy Power to have markets, as they have in the past) before I post where I think the value is.

Suffice it to say, if Carlsen goes towards 1/2, I would be strongly looking at other people as there must be value elsewhere in the field.

It's hard to foresee any money in the market opposing Carlsen so a drift or the big hitters going higher does seem unlikely. Going by name alone I'll assume you'll be a good judge of character on the market on the other candidates and look forward to your posts.

I think waiting until someone scores or half time (whichever is first) to bet the overs might be a smart move.

Obviously don't know what the price is going to be, but our analysis suggests goals could well be undervalued.

I agree with you there Camel, even if the game takes 30+ mins to take off the 2.5 line will look appealing. Also if Real score first we could be in for a goal fest.

I'm a big fan of how Brigton are going at he moment, but Bristol City seem too long to me at Ashton Gate at 9/4.  The have been beating all comers at home since O'Driscoll became manager (4 wins on the bounce?).  I think Brighton might well win, but 9/4 on City is value in my book.

Any thoughts?

Hi guys 1st time poster here. I got on Bristol at 12/5 and they still too long at 9/4.
My research on Man U tonight tells me second legs in any European match between the two lifetime average 5.5 goals

With styles, attacking prowess compared to defensive proficieny, Madrid needing an away goal minimum I really really like Over 3 goals 11/8 tonight, far more than I do odds on 2-3 goals exactly

Is both to score buying money at 1/2?

PS anybody got views on the Scholes gets booked suggestion from earlier?

Scholes to get booked would be printing money if he weren't out injured. BTTS looks like a really solid banker bet plus it's landed the last 6 occasions that Real and Barca have clashed and the last 9/10 times Utd have been at home vs English sides in the top 4.  United have a fantastic record in the CL KO stages and tonight the smart money would be on their side. Personally I'm going to back BTTS pre off and do an in-play bet on overs.
