Tonight's lower league travellers:

19:45 QPR (2/5) Draw (41/10) Carlisle (33/4)
19:45 Swansea (2/7) Draw (11/2) York City (14)
19:45 Sunderland (8/15) Draw (7/2) Exeter (6)

The seedings of League Cup mean the home teams are obviously shorter for the bigger leagues.

Still if we are considering the lower league travelling angle.

Poshies are still being priced up like a play-off team, when in fact we're Crewe in blue shirts.

Gillingham are still being priced up like Crewe, when in fact they're a play-off team.

Fumming that I didn't back them pre-season because of a touch schedule, but they've beaten Sheff Utd and Wigan, and as long as they have Bradley Dack they'll be fine.

Next weekend's match should be, at best, 13-8 Poshies, 5-2 Draw, 13-8 Gillingham, but they've opened Evs Poshies, 12-5 Draw, 12-5 Gillingham.

Rec £50 Gillingham @ 12-5 in a couple of spots.

Also, Poshies have been starting games slowly and Zakuani will be suspended next weekend, meaning another reshuffle at the back, so also £20 on Gills-Gills half-full @ 11-2 with Joke.

Dave 'Over The Moon' Robertson is a footballing version of David Brent and won't be there much longer. We're opposable until he's gone.

What about Tuesday night?

Last Tuesday (pre Sheff Utd) Posh were favourites until about 3/4 hours before the game started, just before KO Sheff moved into nearly odds on with some makers.

Charlton come to LR Tuesday night and are 8/5 with Betthread (recommend £50). 10/3 on Full Time (recommend £15) and I'd hedge it with £10 on Chalrton -1 on the handicap with  Khoral.

Charlton put 4 past Dagenham in the first round, resting a couple of players and I'm expecting a price swing again Tuesday when teams are announced.

Looking at the Championship last night and it seems Brentford are having a ridiculously topsy tervy pre season after the departure of Warburton. They've fantastically signed a member of staff with the title: 'Kicking Coach' as the owner attempts to bring his stat, numbers ethos to improve the club and get promoted but are we seriously expecting this Brentford side to compete highly again?

'Club captain Kevin O'Connor retired at the end of last season, while regular skipper Tony Craig departed for Millwall' and now another senior player John Douglas has been told he has no future and is training alone. The camp must surely be unsettled.

They bought in Josh McEachran and Andreas Bjelland to strengthen but are expecting the departure of Andre Gray (probably to Hull.)

Looking down the oddschecker list for relegation they're as short as 12's with some (14's with most) but Choral still have them at 20's. The Championship is ridiculously strong this year looking at the relegated teams and even a couple of the promoted ones (MK (sorry Chompy)) and Preston.

I think £10 at 20's and maybe the 18's is a great price to go down for a team that are having such an overhaul and actually over achieved last season because of the Warburton effect.

grigg is in at 9-1. a bit tight?

was your gormley suggestion a serious one? is he going to be first choice upfront for the crowdpleasing high scoring fenmen?

Gormley looks to be favoured frontman alongside Connor Washington.

Okay,

Looking provisionally at the lower leagues of English football:

Swindon League 1 Relegation
Reasons:
The Swindon team last year that made the playoffs were a young side that I believe over-achieved under Mark Cooper.
Some of these young players have raised eyebrows and may be on the move over the summer.
They are partially reliant on Spurs loanee's that can be hit or miss.
Wes Foderingham (number 1 keeper) was a good shot stopper and he's been released. He was worth 10-12 points.

There are also rumours surrounding Cooper's future with Sheffield Weds at the forefront to take his services.

There is so much that can go wrong for a team that just made the playoffs and they could crumble. (Leyton Orient last year.)

I'd recommend up to £20 on anything north of 10/1. There are occasional 12's kicking around.

Wigan

I know Fred is already on Wigan to win League 1. If anyone wants to work that line some more:
Scuy have Wigan to be top placed relegated team at 5/6. Recommend the £60 to win £50.

Luton League 2 winners

Luton have done some early business (Scott Cuthbert from Orient + Cameron McGeehan Norwich youth Captain) and should he not find a club anywhere else are actually in line to sign Craig Mackail-Smith (links with John Still)

Beteveryday of the year are the only firm still offering 16/1 on Luton to win the league. This will drop if again if another marquee signing like Craig gets in.

Recommend £20 asap.
