Pretty bad news for the NBA bets. Tony Parker, the point guard of the San Antonio spurs, has ruptured a tendon in his quadricep. We've got them to win the western conference and the NBA Championship itself. They've got a decent enough back up in Patty Mills, but it's not doubt a huge blow for Fred's bets. The spurs are currently tied at 1-1 in the best of 7 semi final against Houston.

Interesting game about to start for our nba bet, Spurs are up against the Warriors for the 3rd time this season. Spurs have won the previous 2 matches this season (even though last time out a couple of key warriors players were rested). The result won't have much of an effect on the overall bet but could give us an insight into how the potential best of 7 games western conference final could end up. A spurs win would put them pretty close to an equal record with Golden State, it'd be great for the bets if they could nick the 1st seed and get the all important home advantage.
Think that ended 110-98 to the Warriors. Yep, which sadly ends the hopes of clinching the number 1 seed in the west. Probably means tough couple of series against the rockets in the semis and warriors in the final. Going to be a sweat!

Playing downton is definitely high on the list of things to do. Last time I was in that part of the world it was only for a 3 day trip and spent most of that time enjoying the free booze in the casinos! Definitely a slight upgrade to waiting 30 minutes for a flat coke from genting stoke. Can't wait to go back and have a good crack at more of sin city.
Edit: ***Downtown not downton. Although playing in the abbey would be fun

You get better value playing the other festivals main events - Golden Nugget, Binions, Phamous etc etc Much better structures, great prizepools, soft fields and still a buzz in the air
Definitely something to keep in mind for the future, cheers. I think for a first time in Vegas during the world series I'd have to flick in for an official wsop event, even if it means sacrificing some ev. It's fish like me that keep the pros coming back You get better value playing the other festivals main events - Golden Nugget, Binions, Phamous etc etc Much better structures, great prizepools, soft fields and still a buzz in the air
$1000 WSOPs are pretty soft and I don't think the others have the same buzz. Structures are much faster at the start in WSOPs, but they are good late on. I haven't reached the very end of another festival main event, but I suspect big stacks at start = shovefest at the end. Definitely good to hear they're not the toughest of fields, but I'd still more than likely be nearer the bottom of the food chain! Cheers doobs

Basketball portfolio update please
do we have any live ones? anything that can be admined as a loser?
NBA Championship NY Knicks 50/1 20 NBA Coach of the year Brad Stevens 8/1 20 NBA Atlantic division boston celtics ev 20 All NBA First team Towns 13/5 15 NBA Top points scorer Harden 3/1 20 western conference spurs 5/1 30 NBA Championship spurs 8/1 30 NBA Defensive player Leonard 4/1 20
thanks
A few of the bets could provide a few nice sweats over the next couple of weeks and months: -The spurs are into 13/2 best price for the championship and 4/1 for the Western conference. They're sitting comfortably 2nd in the west with 54wins over 70 games, only bettered by favourites golden state with 57/71 wins. Will be a very interesting post season series if these 2 meet in the western final -Boston are into 1/4 for the Atlantic division top team, Toronto are the only team that could beat them to the top spot. Boston have 45 wins, Toronto 42, both through 71 games. Shows how much tougher the west is when you compare the spurs and celtics, both 2nd in their respective conferences, with the spurs notching up 9 more wins than boston (whilst having played a game less!). -Harden 2nd in points but averaging 2.0 less points per game than westbrook, going to be tough to catch. Don't think the bet is each way? -Kawhi Leonard as Defensive player of the season, could still happen but I really can't see past Draymond Green winning it this time round. Time will tell.

At some point over the next few years, potentially this summer but unlikely, I'll be in Vegas for a short time. It'd be a crime to not have a pop at one of the smaller buy in events during my time there. I was just wondering what the smaller events, as in the $1000, are like to play? Stuff such as the structure, difficulty of the field etc. Any in particular events which are better than others? Any help would be awesome.

Just seen Kasabian at the sydney opera house. It's safe to say they've not lost their touch. Unbelievable acoustics inside, which definitely made up for being in an all seated venue. I'm pretty sure my trip home back to the UK will be coinciding with Leeds festival as well so potentially a good chance to see them again!
Definitely agree about some of the smaller uk festivals, 100% catching up to some of the largest festivals around in the country in terms of artists playing. When you consider tickets for something like Y Not is half the price of reading/leeds it really makes you wonder...
