Totally understand the rationale for why it may or may not have been the correct fold. But with the benefit of knowing he had the AA, it proved to be an excellent decision. VWP sir

Got everything crossed for you Stu. Give us a hand eh?

Jeez. Horrible situation. Horrible French guy - who probably has erectile dysfunction and personal hygiene issues. Can’t think of any other reasons for such unethical behaviour. Well, apart from the fact that he’s French. Did he start on you only once he realised that you’re “le roast boeuf”?

Loving the updates as always. Really looking forward to Day 2. Trusting that you’re currently pushing out some serious zeds…

All the best Ironside. Hope you get home soon.

Had a good day at Wimbledon with my mum on Monday. Was really glad of the massive queue for groundpasses as we got in at 10:30 with our court two tickets and a very small queue and managed to get a seat courtside on a small outside court to see a five set epic between Jordan Thompson and Nakashima. Great comeback as Thompson looked completely out of it for two sets and then started serve volleying - I've never seen a full five setter in person before so it was pretty cool. By 2pm after the short rain delay it was noticably much much fuller, so we spent most of the rest of the time in our court two seats. Interestingly our seats were right next to the player boxes, next to coach and family. So we saw Katie Swan's muted and disappointing performance and her coaches useless encouragement against a frustrated and under par Bencic and Dan Evans looking incredibly low on confidence go two sets down as the light got darker. Wouldn't bet on Evans to win a match in the near future after that, he looked completely shot, full of self doubt.

Glad we weren't there on Tuesday for all the rain

Thiem vs Tsitsipas was match of the tourney so far. Great drama and I'm sure Murray was enjoying watching a five setter with his feet up at home.
[/b]

I was lucky enough to be there on Court 2 yesterday. The first time I've been on that court, and I must say that it was a far better spectator experience than on Centre Court or Court 1 IMO

The rain delays were a pain, of course, but the Kostyuk turnaround was remarkable to witness, and I think she benefited enormously from the rain breaks. And then there was the Thiem / Tsitsipas match. The vast majority of the crowd were supporting Thiem, so he'll be a little more prepared for tonight's match. Amazing, top quality tennis - which is always far more impressive IRL - throughout a match that could have gone either way until the final tie-break

I’m pretty sure that we’re all going to be happy with whatever decisions you make, Stu

Good luck

Another great morning read. It’s clear that you were really enjoying yourself at this table - perhaps in contrast with the brain-straining of the $2500 Big Bet?

That was an excellent deep run Stu. You must have been mentally exhausted, but still found your way out of two seriously short-stacked positions during the course of the 3 days. Gutting because you were one coup away from a seriously good score.

I love playing at Wynn/Encore. It’s the only place I’ve found where you can get a very good double espresso Americano at the tables. I also love that you want to jump back on the horse again and play today - but please only play if you’re truly feeling right about it. No-one would begrudge you a day off after such a grind.

Either way, we’re all rooting for you. Good/better luck!

I know that the WSOP is a huge logistical challenge, but there does seem to be a lot of self-inflicted chaos involved in this year’s event

Perfect Monday morning reading material.

Don’t worry about the absence of hand breakdowns, the chip count updates have been riveting.

It was simply a matter of time. Let’s hope that the tide has well & truly turned. Keep it up Stu.

That was a disciplined recovery Stu. Well played.

WSOP reporting shows your stack at a healthier 78k - is this correct, or are they teasing us?

Haha! Seems like these stories get recycled every year. I heard the colour up story earlier this month - ant tbh I didn’t disbelieve it. The dealers were pretty awful at the beginning of the WSOP, but have probably improved now. A little. Perhaps.

Great stuff. Loving the updates. Tomorrow you’ll be fresh at the restart - and as Tal says, with the run-bad behind you.

Excellent preamble to the game, Stu

As good as the sweat

Very best of luck
