1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Can dealer let player know if someone can raise ??? on: August 06, 2016, 01:55:50 AM
That's why I posted on here ... thought maybe some experienced dealers / players would know whether a dealer can reply / advise during the hand .
2  Poker Forums / The Rail / Cash game ruling please ... on: August 06, 2016, 01:42:30 AM
2 players in a hand £1/2 holdem cash game ..

Board is
On the river player 1 bets £50
Player 2 raises to £150 putting player 1 all in ..

Player 1 ( bit of a newbie) doesn't realise the raise and thinks player 2 has just called and turns over

Dealer says to player 1 that because you turned your cards over it is classed as a fold .  Player 1 says he didn't realise that player 2 has raised and is still wanting to call the all in bet .

Cardroom manager is called and the decision is upheld ... player 1 can not call the bet and his hand is folded  .

Player 2 has the nuts and shows his cards just to make player 1 feel better knowing he has now saved his  money.

Is this the correct ruling ?  .... would it be any different if player 1 also had the nuts  on the river (  knowing he is not looking for a reaction from the other player )

Not sure you quite understand Red Dog .. player 3 only wants to call the £36 bet as long as he knows player 7 (or anybody else) cannot reraise . If he announces raise himself then hes gonna be held to at least a minimum raise himself .

Player 7 has deliberately raised to £22 knowing that if player 8 goes all in for £36 and other players call  he can now reraise again when it comes round to him .. although some of the players think he can't reraise because they think the all in bet is not a minimum of £44 .

Hi guys .. sorry but maybe I haven't made this clear enough ... the player is not asking about himself but about another player.

Players 3 4 5 6 7 limp for £2
Player 8 now raises to £12
Player 1 and 2 fold
Players 3 4 5 6 call £12
Player 7 now reraises to £22
Player 8 goes all in for £36

Player 3 now wants to call the bet but can't work out whether player 7 is allowed to reraise when the action goes back to him , so he asks the dealer if player 7 is allowed to reraise .
This is where all the other players start getting involved and they all start discussing the matter.

Player 7 is a bit annoyed saying that it should be up to the player to calculate this for himself .. and questions whether it is right for the dealer and especially other players to advise a player on this matter... saying that maybe it is up to the player to calculate it himself but is not sure on the ruling himself .
5  Poker Forums / The Rail / Can dealer let player know if someone can raise ??? on: August 01, 2016, 06:27:36 AM
During a game of omaha ... £1/£2  5 limpers for £2,  a person with £36 raises to £12 with 4 callers , last person now reraises to £22 ... guy with £36 now goes all in ...

Next person now asks the dealer if the person who raised to £22 is allowed to reraise..... the players now starting to debate amongst themselves whether he can reraise or not ..  the dealer tells the player that the raise is not an under raise and so the player can reraise if he wishes.

My question is ... can the dealer advise whether someone can reraise or not .. and should other players also be discussing the matter while a hand is in progress Huh??
6  Poker Forums / The Rail / poker ruling ... one chip calling an all in. on: July 05, 2015, 02:42:23 AM

Any dealers / players please help to solve this argument.

During a live cash game in a casino ..
pre flop player 1 goes all in for £67  ...
Player 2 raises to £140
Folds round to player 6 who doesn't realise player 2 has also gone all in and he throws a £25 chip in to call player 1's bet with out announcing anything .
Dealer now announces that total bet is £140 ... player 6 says that he didn't realise that someone had retained and he only intended to call the £67 all in .

What is the correct rule of action for player 6 and does he have any options Huh?

Thanks in advance .

13  Poker Forums / The Rail / Ruling please ... on: February 04, 2014, 11:21:58 PM
6 players players involved in hand on a £1-2 cash game ..
After the flop player 4 bets £20 out of turn
Dealer tells him it's not his turn to act but the bet stands and action is on player 1.
Player 1 now bets £15 ... Everybody is confused as they all can see player 4's £20 bet .
What is the correct betting now for everyone .. ? I.e if no one else raises do players 2 and 3 first call £15 and then player £20 bet stands and then players 1,2 and 3 have to call £5 more ?
Thanks in advance

It wasn't an angle shoot . If the dealer had told me the correct rule then I would have put the 3900 ( I think the dealer thought the same as me in that the all in out I turn gave me an option to fold without putting anymore chips , a sort of punishment for acting out of turn) . The whole reason I am posting on here is to find out the correct rule for future reference ( and to correct the dealer !! )
All the feedback has been much appreciated !!!

Fair enough , I was wrong. unanimous decision it should have been 3900. It's just that so many times I have seen people limp in without realising someone has raised or gone all in before them and then they have just folded and lost the chips they put in. I'm assuming they are also wrong and should be held to calling the raise/all in ??
