3/5 Nico probably does represent value, but I'm always reluctant to suggest bets below EVS, so I'm not going to formally suggest that. However, 11/10 for a Nico pole position makes complete sense for us. Lewis, with his engine penalties, will need to set up his car with the intention of overtaking people during the race, rather than outright speed. This will compromise his chances of finishing at the top in qualifying. Perhaps Lewis' outright speed on this track will make that deficit redundant - but 11/10 on Nico is a good price. Suggest £20. http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/belgian-grand-prix/pole-positionNot To Finish The Race - Jolyon Palmer @ 5/2 with SkaiBet. I know the thread can't do this one, but it's a good position. Jolyon is still learning at this level and does make mistakes every weekend. On a track with high attrition, I feel that 5/2 is too generous of a price. Suggest £10. http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/belgian-grand-prix/not-to-finish-the-racePodium Finish - Sergio Perez @ best price. 20/1 with BoilSports, but is that palp? I'd suggest £10 on the highest possible price. The Force India's should be in outside contention, and I would be surprised to see these prices still be up come Saturday morning. http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/belgian-grand-prix/podium-finishNote: Post coming so late as I was up conducting Formula E analysis. For those who don't know, the first three day test has been completed. There is one more three day test in a few weeks. I've already got a very good idea of how this season will play out, so I'm looking forward to some odds coming online Is there anyway Lewis doesn't bother going for top 10 because he knows he will be at the back regardless? Save that bit of performance from the engine? And so looking for value on that other car getting top 10, reaching q2 etc

Okay, so I was purposely waiting until after Friday practice to post any bet suggestions. The Hockenheim track is a unique one in terms of historical data providing very little insight year-on-year. It's a bit on an anomaly really, but the thermal tyre degradation on this track is never really consistent. Anyhow, here are my suggestions based on what we saw today: Race Winner - Nico Rosberg @ 6/4 with various. Lewis has the momentum at the moment, and he is rightly the favourite, however 6/4 on Nico is too high - especially at his home race. To give some idea of where the cut off point is, 11/10 on Nico for pole is not a bet. Suggest £20. http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/winnerPoints Finish - Daniil Kvyat @ 9/4 with various. The Russian has been off form lately following his Red Bull demotion. However, this weekend through the two practice sessions so far, he appears to have matched his team mate. A bit of luck and Daniil could score points. Suggest £20. http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/points-finishWinning Margin - 5-9 999 Seconds @ 11/4 with Coral. Given how often the winning margin is between these figures, a price of nearly 3/1 just seems too high to me. Suggest £20. http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/german-grand-prix/winning-marginThat's all for now, will re-review pre-qualifying I note we have a bet on Daniil Kyvat today. I'm certainly not dissing Peter, or the bet, but did anyone see him interviewed yesterday? My word, not sure I can recall seeing a sportsman, certainly not a FI driver, so completely shot to pieces, say boo to him & he'd burst into tears. Be a remarkable thing if he podiumated today. Hope he does, obviously. Not even sure we will see him in F1 again, he really has gone to pieces mentally. It really was not nice to see the fella interviewed. http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/10517527/daniil-kvyat-down-and-distraught-after-qualifying-blow-in-germanyHe always comes across as refreshingly honest. Most blame the car after a crash, but Kyvat usually just holds his hands up. Hope he comes back just because of that. In the pit lane on Thursday he was out doing photos for the team and he just looked so out of place. Granted I know most don't like doing those things, but he had that defeated look on his face, resigned to his fate with a "why do I have to bother with this" look

USPGA Championship 28th-31st July, Baltusrol looks nice Click to see full-size image. |
about 100 years old, designed by Tillinghast and modernised more recently bits and bobs Baltusrol Golf Club is in Springfield New Jersey has hosted seven U.S. Opens and just one PGA Championship in 2005. It is a U.S. Open-style course eg accuracy off the tee with penal rough and small greens Mickelson won the USPGA the last time it was at Baltusrol (when only 9 players finished under par) this was a Mickelson quote in a betfair preview "I think that it's just such a fair test that you don't need length necessarily to play well here. I think that Augusta is a course where length is a big factor, no question. But here, the rough is so penalizing - well, the difference between here and Augusta is that the fairways are, one, a little tighter here, and the rough is a lot thicker. If you do hit it into the rough, you are having a very difficult time saving par, so even though you might be a slightly shorter hitter, hitting out of the fairway allows you to get a lot closer to the green and make pars and birdies." The last four majors have gone to a first timer and 12 of the last 20 winners of this event were breaking their major duck a bit early days for weather stuff, but as the draw is already out the winners of the masters, us and our open are drawn together as is traditional and have an afternoon draw on day 1 and it is suggested there might be an advantage in being early as tougher weather is due later in the day i am sure tikay would welcome a few ideas to sweat over the weekend given the above..... Could I recommend Hideki Matsuyama? Normally very good tee to green and can normally putt them as well. Is one of the earlier starts in a group with JB and Brian Stuard. Hideki is normally pretty good, however, his problem is that when he is in a group with the big boys, he tries to out drive them all the time, despite never being able to. If he just keeps his head down and plays his game, he should do pretty well round here. Rec £10 or £15 e/w

Do you play pokemon Go?
Care to give us a review or let us know why it is enjoyable? I relly know nothing much, just feel pretty strongly about not giving my 8 year old daughter a phone. She has a cheap tab FWIW and the summer holiday is long. I find it enjoyable because there is a competitive aspect between my mate and I. I want to do better than him by catching stuff he hasn't got. There is also a sense of satisfaction when you eventually find an elusive pokemon that you've been tracking. Granted I personally haven't been playing "properly", I've only fired it up when i'm going between places (work/pub/shops), but, what the game has done is get me walking to and from these places where normally I would have driven. My mate has actually gone out and walked round his local area searching for stuff and he loves it. On my excursions to the pub, I have seen lots of groups of people all playing the game, walking/cycling around to different locations and generally having a fun time.

Studying, reading, volunteering, trekking through the Andes, sex, poker, running, cycling, working out, gardening, negotiating trade deals, fighting inequality, fighting prejudice, trainspotting, tennis, squash, football, washing their car, washing their neighbour's car, cutting the grass, cutting my grass, cutting your grass, worrying about the impact of The Climate Change Act I still do most of that, but now I walk to most of these where possible instead of being lazy and driving/getting a lift. One of my locals is now a pokestop and was in there the other night. Must of been at least 15 people in there playing the game, some were just in there because of the game and left soon after getting what they wanted (they did buy drinks before hand).

I need some help here. My 7 yr old son is absolutely desperate to play and I haven't got the foggiest what is going on. This has completely passed me by - can someone give me a quick run down on what that on Earth it's all about?
It's an augmented reality/geocaching game. Basically you have to walk around your local area attempting to find pokemon. The game uses GPS to track where you are and then spawns pokemon that you can catch. It uses your camera so to find the pokemon as well, so it can look like the little critter is standing right there in the street. There are lots of locations you can visit for items (pokestops) and to battle the pokemon you have caught (gyms). These are all real world locations and you have to be within a certain distance to be able to use them.
