as el camino is released i have decided to re watch breaking bad... oh its just sooooooooooooooooooooooo good

I've started to watch some series I never got round to watching. Finished Dexter and now on the final series of Breaking bad, both brilliant.

If you haven't seen it can highly recommend Better Call Saul once you have done breaking bad.

We're ding the same; rewatching BB before watching El Camino. It's even better second time through, but we feel differently about some of the main characters to first time through (Walt and Jesse particularly). I think we over-binged it first time round and are savoring it more now. Better Call Saul is great too, but not sure I feel like they're managing to transition Saul or Mike from the protagonist of BCS to the 'orrible people they are in BB. Guess we'll get there eventually.

If it's £500 a day for 12 weeks and they're happy to pay that, why not just quote the £30,000 for the service and not quote a number of days?
Could you not then deliver the service in 4-6 weeks and move on?
Presumably they want the results ASAP

Or could you run two contracts side by side, so still deliver both in 12 weeks for the quoted service and double the income?

That's the start of a formal leadership campaign right there.

I tried to pick it back up again. That's why I came back here. Unfortunately there's just not the time in my life to do more than dip my toes in.

Combination of much more demanding/stressful job, bigger house/garden with more effort needed, and I'm gigging a lot at the minute, playing guitar for three different singers, so I'm out most weekends with that. When I have free time separate from all of that, I'm spending it with MrsM.

I'd love to get to DTD once or twice a month for a tournament, but I struggle to find the time.

Obviously the main characters think it's all fine and Dandy. what I'm saying is, the "active users list" used to consistently run into the high double figures, and there were many pages of active and entertaining threads at any time. Now it's the same dozen or so people going round and round in uncivil circles, and everyone else has cleared off.

Yes it's relatively mild compared to some facebook and twitter feeds, but it's extremely unpleasant compared to the good old days of Blonde that was pretty much zero tolerance on trolling, name calling, aggression, rudeness, etc.

Crack on if you're enjoying it I guess, but I think it's a shame that it's degenerated into this.

In the old days of Blonde, the flash points were in the sports threads, with Rangers and Celtic fans, or Man Utd and Liverpool fans getting over heated.

There was a bright and enjoyable atmosphere where people from all backgrounds gathered to talk poker and non-poker related topics. It was a lovely place to be.

Now there's just a dark cloud hanging over everything and all the energy is negative, and I don't see any way back from it. There's no outcome where everyone just shakes hands and moves on. We're facing decades of this conversation, regardless of how the next 6 months go. I don't mean just here, I mean in the wider world too. Life's too short.

For me, the best thing about blonde used to be that it wasn't a microcosm of the wider country. It was a refuge. A place where people had to behave decently and treat each other with respect.

That ship has sailed.

Sorry Adam. I had to interpret because your pic wouldn't quote.

Anyway, mea culpa.

The mods, (me included) have let things slide way too far, but to moderate these things properly you have to argue and make enemies and I'm at a stage in my life where I don't want to do that.

I came back to see what was going on, it's horrible, and I don't know why I'm still driven to lurk and read.

I don't see much point in the page after page of this thread. No one is changing each others minds. Everyone is completely entrenched in their position, and are extremely unpleasant to each other day in, day out. I know which box I would tick in any upcoming election or referendum. No one here is providing a persuasive argument form me to change either, but I also find myself sickened by the approach of people here that would tick the same boxes.

This is the real legacy of Brexit. I don't remember anything like this sort of discussion 5+ years ago. People held different political opinions to each other, but there was much more of a "it's between me and the ballot box" attitude.

Are you trying to persuade someone to change their opinion and come over to your way of thinking, or are you just enjoying the endless unwinnable scrapping? Utterly pointless and thoroughly unpleasant to watch.

Tony Blair and NL was a good time to have a young family on low income. I had two kids born 2000/2005 and one and a half retail incomes coming in at the time. Plenty of tax relief, state funded child care, additional income boosting benefits, etc. Enabled us to get on the housing ladder and work hard to improve our situation.

Would hate to be in that situation a decade earlier or a decade later.

THE BOYS on Amazon Prime.
A sideways look at super heroes in corporate America.
Stunningly violent in small doses, and very funny at times.

Side note: Simon Pegg's American accent is a LOT better than the co-lead Kiwi's London accent is, but if you squint your ears, it's ok.

Yeah I loved season 1 of this too, despite Urban's accent he still is good in it

It's not that the accent is consistently bad. It's more that it's generally ok with occasional slips and missteps. I can bear that a lot more than something constantly off (Katy Bates in ANY of the American Horror Stories for example)

I went to see the doctor yesterday.

He said: "Don't eat anything fatty"

I said: "What, like bacon sausages and burgers?"

He said: "No fatty, don't eat anything"

Still active as a gigging musician, but it's not full rock bands any more. I spend my time providing acoustic accompaniment for a very talented female vocalist (www.facebook.com/songbirdami if anyone's interested).

I was interested. WP, as they say.

I seem to remember your boy getting into guitar when he was young. Did he keep it up?

If you were interested in that, you may be interested in this;

one of two new singers I'm working with. Feel free to give the page a like to see more from them in the near future Smiley

Everything I Own by Boy George.

Nah, I have to scoll down to number 34 to find a song I'd be interested in. Anthrax, I Am The Law.
I was a card carrying, leather jacket wearing metal head by my 14th birthday. No time for chart music.
