I see the market, but get the message that the event has started.

Add me to that PM list please.

Anyone used this site before? https://bettin.gs/

Interesting concept, looks like it could certainly present the data in a clear & methodical way.

Just finished posting all my pre-season F1 stuff on twitter.  thumbs up

I agree on backing Perez each way, and have done so for the same reason you did.  I don't know what their max on a clean account is, but I was restricted and I didn't even try and get a big bet on.  I'd have gone bigger if it was a fifth first 3, as I can see him getting 3rd over Bottas.

The one thing I do worry about is Verstappen; he just doesn't seem the type to stay behind Perez if the situation demands it.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if a decent proportion of Verstappen's incidents this year are with Perez.  Hamilton isn't one for staying behind Bottas either, but usually gets the risk/reward balance right these days.

Yep, agree with all of that.

I was also limited on the Perez bet.

A bit late in the day for this, but the new Formula E season starts tomorrow, and I have created my very own motorsport betting account on Twitter.

Will certainly be keeping an eye on this!

Will you be doing another F1 round up once testing has finished?  Absolutely loved the ones you've done previously

Thanks, I really appreciate that. Yes, I will absolutely be doing that analysis on my Twitter account. The pre-season analysis is one of the most important aspects for me. If you can correctly pinpoint the pecking order early on, you can combine that with the typical development rate of each team to roughly predict how the season will pan out. It can be a real money-spinner, particularly if a team under or over performs in the early races. I seem to remember we had this exact situation a few years back with a spread bet on Force India's points total.

I don't think Klopp will be leaving for a good while...

Sure, but Liverpool will certainly have a next manager at some point, right?  Grin

Hi Peter,

Yes, maybe in a week, maybe in 5 years, maybe somewhere in-between.

Do you really want to tie up a lump of your betting 'roll for that long for a 7/4 shot? It could be earning money for you, rather than sat in a bookies account. (See "Opportunity Cost").

I guess it depends on the duration, which we don't know. I would be happy to tie up some money at 7/4 for a couple of years personally.

Any thoughts on Gerrard at 7/4 to be next Liverpool manager? Seems to be doing good things at Rangers.

Two bets for today's Abu Dhabi GP:

Race Winner - Lewis Hamilton @ 6/4. Lewis has not been on form all weekend, and is the first to admit he's not feeling 100% after his bout of covid. However, it's hard to ignore a 6/4 price on the best driver in the fastest car. He'll start 3rd having qualified 0.086s down on Max Verstappen who took pole, and he lost all of his time in the third sector. In the first two sectors, Lewis was quickest of anyone which indicates to me that the pace is there - despite his illness. Suggest 10 points.

Top Six Finish - Esteban Ocon @ 13/2. Esteban has been quicker than his team mate all weekend, perhaps spurred on by his podium at the SakhirGP. Meanwhile that Renault car has looked quick around this circuit, only struggling in qualifying due to lower than expected track temperatures. I do expect them to be in the mix and this should be priced more like 9/2. Suggest 5 points.

Two losses today, bit of an odd race in terms of pace.

- Hamilton finished 3rd with Verstappen dominating - nobody saw that coming. Mercedes must have been looking after the engine more than people expected - although still not sure why Lewis couldn't catch Valtteri. Need to think about that one.
- Ocon finished 9th. The pace was okay, the strategy was really poor, but McLaren were fundamentally too fast for Renault to break into the top six.

Couldn't it just be as simple as Lewis been exhausted?  He said before the race he was tired and not feeling 100%.  From others who have had Covid, it seems pretty easy to be tired all the time for a while.  Of course some get over it quicker, but given he specifically mentioned it, it seems at least a possible reason?  The season has probably finished at a good time for him.

Possibly and he has complained after the race about the after-effects of covid, but his pace was fine throughout qualifying and wasn't at any point during the race, not even at the start. Something's not quite adding up, I need to look through the full set of data yet. Nevertheless, I was happy with the 6/4 price, it's difficult to justify not taking over EVS on him.

Note: one of my pre-season selections, George Russell over 0.5 points finishes, won today.

Not for the reason I originally anticipated, but it has come in.

I have been told it will be settled after the season ends (Ladbrokes).
