As others have said workloads are heavy and turnover high.
Care homes for the elderly need a certain percentage of staff trained to a minimum of level 2 in care so do prefer trained staff.
Most will take untrained and train them up but will look to recover training costs if they leave within a certain period.

I used to live in a town with two superb golf courses, both establised over 100 years ago - one was termed as being created for the gentry and professionals, probs solicitors and the like and the other came about to enable the local 'artisans' ( a word I love) meaning tradesmen, craftsmen and 'shopkeepers'.

Im just a rec punter a like a wee nibble on horses now and again and generally use my laddies or PP online account.
Ive recently started havin a punt on a few items in tikays fred on football, dogs and golf.
Since this ive noticed that whereas in the past my horse bets usually in the £25 win or ew category seemed to be accepted immediately now it seems to stall and take up to 4/5 times as long to be accepted.
Does this indicate that my bets are now being monitored - ive never seen anything to say it is being referred to a trader or such?
Cheers

Did bogey really used to mean par?
Apparently this was different either side of the Atlantic, but in one you had to play against a nominal score set by Mr Bogey, whereas the other had a course score (hence par for the course).
Reinforces my 'golf is a ridiculous game that I nevertheless enjoy watching and occasionally punting on' principle.
Not only did bogey mean par on this side of the pond but we also used to use a smaller golf-ball too, 1.66" in diameter as opposed to the 1.68" used by the yanks. Both the bigger ball and "par" are now standard. Re. Billy Horschel: His swing and tempo remind me a lot of Nick Price at his best. He has the technical potential to become a superstar imo. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Dunlop-Warwick-Golf-Balls-box-of-1-dozen-still-wrapped-in-red-wrappers-/121003628111?pt=UK_Sports_Memorabilia_ET&hash=item1c2c60d64fHmmmmm Ive got a couple of boxes of old dunlop 65's. They were my Dad's and after he died I kept them but didnt take up the game meself until about 10 years after he passed away. As I was crap and basically lost on average a ball a hole I bought cheap ones until the time I played in a stapleford competition and thought Id unwrap a new Dunlop 65 and play it. I think id played a bout three holes and after putting out one of the other players noticed it and kindly informed me I was using a ball that was now illegal to use and I had to disqualify myself in accordance with golf rules and etiquette. I had no idea ball size had changed didnt look much different

Wasps 24, Exeter 37.
And that is FOUR winners on the bounce for hector, three of them this weekend. (13/8, 5/6, Evens, 2/1).
Like. very much I like Fred but not too many bets from it - I liked Hectors thoughts on this and had a wee bet - nice one Hector.

Hi John
Im becoming an avid reader of your diary.
Looks like you have the capacity to enjoy your life and if I may be so bold Id suggest dont chase becoming a poker hero, take the obvious advice given and one day (hopefully soon as far you are concerned) all will slot into place and you will enjoy poker for what it gives to you and at a level to suit you.
Im just an old rec player trying to absorb some of what I read on your diary and that of others to keep up with what seems to be the constantly changing dynamics of this tantalising game.
Cheers and GL
