You forgot to mention the burger and wedges you'd ordered before heading out for that fateful £75 cigarette. Said burger and wedges were pecked at whilst your naughty arse was being dealt with outside.

In my defence, I did ring you, and the lady in tow, to inform you of the waiting food, but alas there was no reply. I just hate to see food go cold, my stomach would never forgive me. I look forward to your food order at the next live event Smiley

All the best with this, and full credit to you for the highly original title.

Thanks for the replies guys! Fly to Dublin 3 weeks today to kick the journey to Vegas off, so the excitement is building. Going business class for probably the only time in my life, so I intend to gobble as much steak and champagne as possible Smiley

Saw the following on a very good holiday website I peruse daily, probably won't appeal to all the grinders, but if one of you were considering whisking her indoors away for a LV break before xmas, it seems a pretty good deal.

Always on Standby Shed Seven, in the wrong place at the wrong time

Very good. Not sure how many people on here will get that though Wink

from the NME

50 forgotten '90s bands who prove '90s indie wasn't just about Oasis and Blur

http://nmem.ag/AAdHs

Jogs a few memories!

A few blasts from the past there! Though a couple of their choices baffle me. Idlewild? Skunk Anasie? Mansun?! Was scrolling down and did wonder if my hometown (and favourite) band Shed Seven would get a mention, alas they did. Surprised really, they still have a very strong following despite not doing any new material. They are touring the UK again this winter, supported by another band that could have made the list....Inspiral Carpets.

I'm biased, but the Sheds are a great live band and always put on a fantastic show. And Rick Witter is a really nice guy. Just don't mention the advert for The Link.....

Edit....to add to the debate, a band called The Departure. We're tipped for big things, as they broke through around the same time as bands like Arctic Monkeys, Libertines, Maximo Park etc yet I think they disappeared after just one album. Shame, had a couple of decent tunes, the pick of them being Be My Enemy.

Tried to do as much digging as possible but I'll get a better reply here I'm sure!

Playing the Colossus event, which will be my WSOP virginity lost. With regards to regging for it, our plan was to head to the Rio after we've checked in and dumped our stuff in the room (we arrive on the Friday 29th on the later direct BA service), and register that evening for the 10am flight the next day. Is it as simple as taking $565 and our passports to register? Really want to beat what I imagine will be lengthy queues on Saturday morning!

Also the $20 trick.....whats the etiquette?! Slip a 20 in your passport photo page as you check in and casually ask if there are any upgrades? This will be my 4th time to Vegas but I've never tried it before. Staying in Monte Carlo for 7 nights fwiw.

So now playing a twin trip and it looking like it going to be 10 days in florida and 3/4 nights in las vegas has anyone ever done this .just wondering if i should book it as a package or individual  thought please also it going to be next may

A lot of the Vegas double or triple centre holidays I've seen tend to include 1/2 of New York, LA or San Fran. I don't recall ever seeing Florida as an option, though I'm sure it can be done, you just might have to go through a specialist travel agent.

Depending on your budget, I'd be more inclined to book the different components separately. Numerous options for this; could get a standard return flight to Florida and look for a cheap domestic return to Vegas. An open jaw flight might be better, flying into Florida, out of LV, and again look for a cheap one way internal flight. Ebookers.com are pretty good for multi stop flights if you wanted it all on one ticket.

If keeping the cost down is the most important aspect, you can sometimes find 2 week jollys to Florida for £500pp or less. Snag one of those, and then source an internal return flight for the Vegas leg. There are directs from Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

On the flop, it's not a great flop for him.

He has a lot of broadways, good Aces, pairs, flush draws.
I expect him to fold a lot of his 2 over type hands.

I don't expect him to call the flop with 99 plus. (88-77), or a flush draw (given stack size/ whats in the pot).

Have seen him get it in against me with an overpair on a  drawy board (deeper). That hand went cont bet, I raised, he 3 bet jammed flop, I called.

I don't think after the flop he has a flush draw or 88 plus.

He could have ace 3/2/6, but expect he might limp these pre.

Was an interesting one.

I'd say the bolded hands the villain might hold are either pretty happy or very happy on that flop.

Is it a reliable sauce?

Edit - crap, didn't see Tighty make that gag at the bottom of his post. I'm a dunce.

Double edit - I feel like I've bean had.

That'll have to do.

Just got an email from lastminute.com.

Las Vegas is their 'destination of the week', and for one week they are doing 10% off selected Vegas hotels using the code BEST10 at the checkout. Had a quick look at the T's and C's and there didn't appear to be any date restrictions, just had to spend more than £100.

Fill your boots!

If you're staking someone for a tourney, you're at the mercy of your horse suffering a bad beat and not getting any money. This is one of those bad beats.

Would be different if you were staking Stephen Ireland and he told you that another of his grandmothers had died.

That Stephen Ireland thing was the weirdest story ever.

Did he ever explain himself?

His girlfriend had a miscarriage which kind of fits in nicely with this thread.  I am fairly sure it was a significant way through the pregnancy, so probably pretty painful for him and his girlfriend.  From what I remember his girlfriend didn't have family close by for support.  I think he didn't want to reveal what happened so made something up.  I guess he didn't think particularly straight at the time, but it is difficult to think straight at times like this.  So he did a bad thing, but you can see why he did it.

Understandable he withdrew, but somewhat strange he didn't tell his manager the reason.

Sure the FAI could have just said "personal reasons" to the press.

Apparently Ireland was under the impression that a miscarriage wouldn't be a good enough reason to pull out of the national squad, so made up the porky pie of it being his Grandmother. When the press found his Grandmother alive and well, he claimed it was his other Grandmother. I'm sure we've all been there where we tell a white lie (maybe not to that same degree though) with good intentions, but the thing just snowballs and we end up looking like a right plonker.

Actually think the media treated him pretty poorly in the aftermath. Instead of giving him support, he was widely mocked, hence his retirement from international football at the grand old age of 24 or whatever it was.

Pleased that he's still doing the business in the PL. Was very disappointed when Mancini came in and discarded him immediately. Hughes is the man to get the best out of him.

I digress! It was tongue in cheek earlier but I do think the family member in question is the key aspect.

Boyd's strike was akin to a mediocre poker player somehow luckboxing their way to the Roller one week; he won't hit a ball like that again, just like the mediocre Roller winner won't ever get close to a similar result!

"Can we play you every week ... Caaaaaaan we play you every week "

I'd genuinely rather play Chelsea every week! Sad

Thanks for the info, yeah i guessed they was the same as each flight left at exactly the same time and returned the same time just stating different airlines.

5nights 22nd -27th then Sad 28th would be check in day for the Palazzo.

Yeah, not sure why Condor and TC prices sometimes differ as the product is identical.

If you want 5 nights initially before moving to Palazzo, make sure you book 23-28! 28th is the day you check out whatever hotel you book and move over to the Palazzo. If you did 22-27 then you'd be homeless for the night of the 27th. Apologies if I come across as a pedantic prick Smiley

Hey Ben.

Condor and Thomas Cook are basically the same thing. It's all TC aircraft. Only used them the once and that was flying home from LV last May. They have recently started to upgrade their long haul fleet, so it's a flip as to whether you get a newer interior or not. Not sure entirely what changes they are making, but I know one of them is to upgrade the seatback TV's to on demand entertainment as opposed to the looped shit that is a bit old hat these days. In my experience they were ok, nothing to shout about, but the convenience of flying direct from/to Manchester is definitely its biggest appeal, as their fares tend to be a couple hundred cheaper than the only other option (Virgin Atlantic).

Not stayed at any of the hotels mentioned; have done Planet Hollywood and Flamingo, which are both cheap, functional and in amongst the action on the strip.

5 nights is 23rd-28th btw Wink
