Quite fancy trying to get the short priced fav beat in the first at Kempton, sire's offspring have a relatively poor a/w record - 7% win out of 99 runs on Kempton polytrack sprints. I'll have a small win bet on Hurricane Alert, whose sire Showcasing by contrast has a good record on the surface - 17% win. Finished 3/4l 2nd in last November maiden, from which the close up 3rd and 4th went on to win races.
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/kempton/17:45/winner   12/1 in a couple of spots,  11/1 Lads for Fred's fiver?

unlucky, decent pointer on the fav lay though

Probably worth a little £5 ewe on Amidon in the 4.25 Cheltenham tomorrow.

20s with Sads.

3rd, loomed for a bit, nice tip, cheers

edit sp 12/1s aswell just others a bit better handicapped (which is rank vs a maiden)

Jungle cat 10 e/w looks a bit long (3.30 newmarkett), represents much of the top class form last season, obviously hates soft, least his forms in the book, 2 places of looks a punt

Bonds girl 28/1 e/w looks a bet aswell with faheys horses going well and it being decent first time up last time (4.05 newmarket). Has a bit to find on ratings but its performances vs mattmu  suggest that rating is a fair bit off anyway.

Quick word on many clouds

betfair sportsbook don't restrict us very often, but did on this

we had £9.18 e/w at 33-1 for £375 profit

should have been more, but its tougher getting on.....

major firms like ladbrokes, hills, corals were only laying 4 places in the national in shops...on the biggest acquisition day of the year they substantially ducked it..a shadow of their former selves

shutthefrontdoor finished 5th, so saving them payouts there to once a year shop customers

unimpressive bookmaking really

The downgrading of SP on so many runners was truly pathetic aswell. Betting shops are dead and they do nothing to endear themselves.

Did anyone hear the McCoy special on Radio 5 last night? - 10 best horses he has ridden.

List in the link below and I am sure the show can be found on IPlayer.  Was a fascinating show, from the death of Synchronised to injury's allowing him to ride some of Ruby's horses and his thoughts about that.

Was amazed at the words he had for Gloria Victus - the death of the horse was incredibly hard to take for him, but he obviously felt that particular horse would have gone on to produce so much more.  He was audibly more enthused talking about that horse then any other in his list.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/horse-racing/31737340

Was basically the coneygree of his year. Funny all the nobheads who felt the need to hammer mccoy and pipe for running him in the gold cup havent been back out to say coneygree shows that they were totally wrong.

Incidently I think valaramix is the best horse hes ever been on and its injury was one of the saddest things Ive ever seen on a racecourse

Long time reader who really enjoys this thread so thought id try my first bet

Stephen peters 5/1 sj  top northants batsman in cc div 2 for me he should be 5/2 fav .Northants had a nightmare season in div 1 last year when peters was captain.Without the shackles of captaincy and back in div 2 he looks the clear favourite to be top scorer imo.
The opposition
1.kyle coatzer 4/1 I don't even think he will get into the team when everyone is fully fit.
2,r levi 3/1 more of a 20/20 specialist cant see him been consistant enough to be top scorer in cc
3, rossington  9/2 came in late last season and did ok but still has a lot to prove
4,a wakely 6/1 was off all last year with injury and will probably take awhile to settle back in
5,r Keogh 7/1 a promising young player but still a lot to do to be in peters league
6,j cobb 8/1 another with promise but a lot to prove
7,r newton 10/1 a player whos shown a lot of promise with 6x 100 in 3 years ravaged by injury if he stays fit I think hes the main danger to peters
8,duckett  16/1 another promising youngster whos had some fitness problems and still a lot to prove to be in peters league
9willey 25/1 a really promising all rouder but he could be battiing as low as 8 or 9 this year so going toi be really hard to be top scorer from there
MY BETS
peters 5/1 100
newton 10/1 50

lol and your name is?

peter whats yours?

John.

Rob Newton any relation?

yes robs my nephew that's why ive followed northants for awhile and why I put bet up.

Peters and newton from peter newton, cant lose, max bet. No middle names or anything?

ffs busted ok its because there names make my name Grin cant lose can it?

fool proof, no chance youll forgot who youve backed.
