I can imagine negative uses and many positive uses; catharsis, a little bit of self appreciation stopping short of narcissm, but mainly I find it a fantastic medium to find out what my kids are doing and to find girlfriends of my 18 yr old son adding comments to a photo of me:
"your dad is well good looking, I would ;-)"
Made an old man feel good

The island it is silent now But the ghosts still haunt the waves And the torch lights up a famished man Who fortune could not save
Did you work upon the railroad Did you rid the streets of crime Were your dollars from the white house Were they from the five and dime
Did the old songs taunt or cheer you And did they still make you cry Did you count the months and years Or did your teardrops quickly dry
Ah, no, says he, twas not to be On a coffin ship I came here And I never even got so far That they could change my name
Thousands are sailing Across the western ocean To a land of opportunity That some of them will never see Fortune prevailing Across the western ocean Their bellies full Their spirits free Theyll break the chains of poverty And theyll dance
In manhattans desert twilight In the death of afternoon We stepped hand in hand on broadway Like the first man on the moon
And the blackbird broke the silence As you whistled it so sweet And in brendan behans footsteps I danced up and down the street
Then we said goodnight to broadway Giving it our best regards Tipped our hats to mister cohen Dear old times squares favorite bard
Then we raised a glass to jfk And a dozen more besides When I got back to my empty room I suppose I must have cried
Thousands are sailing Again across the ocean Where the hand of opportunity Draws tickets in a lottery Postcards were mailing Of sky-blue skies and oceans From rooms the daylight never sees Where lights dont glow on christmas trees But we dance to the music And we dance
Thousands are sailing Across the western ocean Where the hand of opportunity Draws tickets in a lottery Where eer we go, we celebrate The land that makes us refugees From fear of priests with empty plates From guilt and weeping effigies And we dance

Good songs Bood
Spanish songs in Andalucia The shooting sites in the days of '39 Oh, please, leave the vendanna open Fredrico Lorca is dead and gone Bullet holes in the cemetery walls The black cars of the Guardia Civil Spanish bombs on the Costa Rica I'm flying in a DC 10 tonight
CHORUS Spanish bombs, yo tequierro y finito Yote querda, oh mi corazon Spanish bombs, yo te quierro y finito Yo te querda, oh mi corazon
Spanish weeks in my disco casino The freedom fighters died upon the hill They sang the red flag They wore the black one
But after they died it was Mockingbird Hill Back home the buses went up in flashes The Irish tomb was drenched in blood Spanish bombs shatter the hotels My senorita's rose was nipped in the bud
CHORUS
The hillsides ring with "Free the people" Or can I hear the echo from the days of '39? With trenches full of poets The ragged army, fixin' bayonets to fight the other line Spanish bombs rock the province I'm hearing music from another time Spanish bombs on the Costa Brava I'm flying in on a DC 10 tonight Spanish songs in Andalucia, Mandolina, oh mi corazon Spanish songs in Granada, oh mi corazon

Glad you liked the choice of music, they were great, saw 'em a few times too back then and still love that song so it sprang to mind easily when the question was about running bad. Well done last night too I don't play much live (handful of times a year) but played the £75 at Luton the night before BB4, chopped it with Norman Pace and a couple of other chaps. Still looking for results from 27th April to be found somewhere on the net so I can idly chirp my day away sending weblinks to people to show off my prowess Still can't find results from that day so back to searching old music footage.

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=4333.0Interesting for me to cast my mind back and read a welcome thread after I just signed up - it was the day after I had just shared a final table with a few of my earliest poker buddies - Fish Royale, Satty, Jo, Ginger and a day or two with the likes of Alfa, Jaggers & Trace. Also met Robert HM and Suzanne that weekend. Think the cat was there too, nottingham ? Got a welcome from a chap even older than me ! Nice memories of those times. Hadn't realised it was 2 + years ago and still remember thinking what a friendly place it was. How things change :-)

Very well done to Mrs Pace. She was on the first table I played at in the £75 F/o the night before BB4, and Mr Pace was at the final table.
Insofar as you can judge anybody's character by an hour or so around a poker table I was struck by what unaffected, genuinely nice people you both were.
Hope you do well in the final.
