Guys not sure of the strength of this one but I have been put onto a "good thing" at Lingfield on 08/02.

The horse is Kingsgate Prince and it runs in the 3:40.

TBH, its not a partnership I trust much, as the trainer seems to hit a spell and when the horse is fancied they seem to flop but, this has come from a fairly decent source who assures me the hat-trick is on!

I have managed to get a bet on at £50 e/w at 5/1 so I am happy with that.

I really like watching Andy B play.  He talks a good game when providing commentary and also plays a decent game.  The fact he is from the old country gets him some extra points in my book but I hope he wins!  But I don't think he will.

Not been impressed by Ram trying to bully the new guy!  And I think Simon has been quite weak laying down a few hands that he should have been more aggresive with.

I would say that the mistake you made was not re-raising pre flop. I know you obviously wante dto get paid but I have learnt a costly lesson lately with trying to slowpair big pocket pairs.

Its possible you could have been outdrawn, but you let the guy into the pot cheap considering you had 2nd best pre-flop hand.

I knew Greg played poker and infact I have played aganst him twice.   But I never knew he was narried to the teacher from Balamory, incidentally while on the topic of Ballamory the wee Asian lassy who appears on it quite often is the daughter of the guy who own a shop around my way.

And that wee shell suit Baob from River City stays just around the corner from me as well. Cool

Quite an interesting story Suzanne, it just goes to show how much people concentrate on names etc, personally I don't bother with them but some folk obviously think there is something in that.
4445  Poker Forums / The Rail / ON LINE POKER - BAD BEAT CENTRAL??? on: January 28, 2006, 08:57:46 PM
JUST ON BET FRED THERE, AND I AM SO MAD I HAD TO TAKE THE DOG FOR A WALK.  I KNOW THE SITE AIN'T GOT THE GREATEST CALIBRE OF POKER PLAYER, BUT SOME ARE ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.

I AM GOING OFF MY HEAD, AND FEELS LIKE I HAVEN'T A CLUE WHERE TO TURN.  I SEEM TO COME UP AGAINST EVERY IDIOT ON THE NET.  I HAVE EVEN TRIED CHANGING MY STLE OF PLAY.  BEST EXAMPLE WAS TONIGHT THOUGH I AM PLAYING A $10 FREEZEOUT - NOT GREAT I KNOW BUT.  I PLAYED 3 HANDS OUT OF THE FIRST 28 DEALT, I PLAYED THEM WELL AND DOUBLED UP ONCE AND TREBLED UP ON ANOTHER OCCASION.

I PLAYED A FEW LOOSE HANDS BUT NOTHING THAT COST ME MORE THAN 600 CHIPS FROM A STACK OF 11/12K TO SEE A FLOP WHEN I HAD SPECULATIVE CARDS.

I AM PLAYING 3 SEPERATE TABLES:

TABLE ONE 1 I HAVE:    IN THE POCKET, BLINDS ARE 300/600 I RAISES 14OO, FOLDS ROUND TO THE SMALL BIND HE CALLS. FLOP COMES  two spades    I BETS 1800 CHIPS, HE CALLS TURN COMES AS A  (BY THISPOINT I AM THINKING MAYBE HE HAS A FLUSH DRAW.  AT ABSOLUTE BEST THATS WHAT I PUT HIM ON.  SO  I MAKE ANOTHER BET THIS TIME 0F 2K, HIS TIMER RUNS DOWN ALMOST AND HE CALLS RIVER COMES  SO NO SMADE AND I MOVES ALL IN FOR ABOY 6 K IN CHIPS HE DOESN'T H AVE ENOUGH TO COVER ME BUT HE CALLS ANYWAY FOR HIS LAST 3K SHOW DOWN I SHOW MY TRIP JACKS HE TURNS OVER  OUTDRAWS MY TRIPS WITH A STRAIGHT.  THIS JUST SEEMS TO BE CYCLE I AM STUCK IN.

ON ANTHER TABLE I AM PLAYING I GETS A SIMILAR BEAT, WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE POTS ETC I HAVE  I AM IN THE BIG BLIND AND IT FOLDS ROUND TO BE WITH ON RAISE OF 200, I CALLS.  FLOP COMES      Two Diamonds YOUR MAN CHECKS I MOVED ALL IN AND HE CALLS HE HAS ME COVERED JUST, AND TURNS OVER AND  SO CARDS ARE OVER I SHOWS MY TWO PAIR HE SHOWS HIS CARDS I THINK I A M WELL AHEAD AND RIGHTLY SO.  ANYWAY TURN COMES  RIVER COMES

WHATS GETTING ME IS I DON'T SEEM TO THINK I HAVE MADE MANY BAD MOVES AT EITHERTABLE.  AS I SAID I HAVE TAKEN THE DOG FOR A WALK IN AN EFFORT TO CALM DOWN I AM PLAYING A 1OK GUARANTEED TOURNEY IN 8 MINS THAT I WON THROUGH TO VIA A $12 SATELITE, AND IF I HAVE ANY CHANCE OF FINNISHING ANYWHERE ENAR THE CASH I NEED SOME SORT OF COMPOSURE BUT I JUST FEEL AS IF AM BEING FLEECED ONLINE.

I DON'T THINK I HAVE FELT SO DISHEARTENED ABOUT PLAYING POKER EVEN ON THE CASH TABLES I AM BEING TURNED OVER BY FOLK WHO IMO SHOULD NOT BE IN THE POT WITH THE SHIT THEY CALL WITH!!

ANY ADVICE ON HOW I PLAYED ABOVE MUCH WELCOMED.  AND IF ANYONE ELSE HAS FELT LIKE THIS WITH ONLINE POKER BEFORE, ARE YOU STILL PLAYING IF SO HOW DO YOU OVERCOME  IT?

SORR ABOUT THE CAPS - I JUST NOTICED THEM WHEN I GOT TO THE LAST PARAGRAPH!
4446  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: GOD RETURNS... on: January 27, 2006, 07:02:40 PM
I wonder if he could have the same sort of impacta s Rush had when he returned?

Personally I don't think so and Ireckon Robbies seen too much Charlie to be anythig near the athlete he was a few years back.  Although he supported the dark side in Glasgow he was always a favourite of mine.

But the most important new is Stan Petrov has signed a 3 year extention at Celtic Park.

All this talk about Fowler when there is only one real talking point in sport and that is Stan Petrov has signed a 3 year extension to his contract with the Hoops!!

Bring it ON!!! Cool
4448  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: poker music on: January 27, 2006, 06:57:34 PM
I mostly listen to the many thousands of Irish songs I have on my iPod wether it be from the Dubliners- to Shebeen or from Christy Moore to Paddy Rooney.  I also have laods of flute band stuff, some pople take ita s a tell if I start tapping the lg and drumming to the sound of the music, created the desired effect most times and then I take the pot down.

Sometime I just sit with the earphones in and pretend to be ignoring anything going on at the table, I can see it frustrates some folk.  Its not as if it really makes much difference.

But I do admit I tend to play better when listening to a bit of Christy Moore, mixed up witha few Bob Marley numbers.
4449  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Bank Roll on: January 27, 2006, 06:51:31 AM
Some good options there guys and thanks for the suggestions.

At the moment I am doing as Bundle does, but sometimes I find myself becoming frustrated by that.

I think I need to come up with a plan that I am going to stick to.  I also think its important to keep a proper record of win to loss ratio.

One of the things that I find about playing online at Bet Fred - where I am a regular! Is that I tend not to have much control over my cash, simply because its too easy to deposit extra funds when I am on tilt.

I think what I might do is uninstall all the crap sites from my PC and maybe have only 1 or 2 really good sites.

Any suggestions on the best online rooms to play at?
4450  Poker Forums / The Rail / Bank Roll on: January 26, 2006, 11:55:22 PM
What would you guys oon here suggest is the way to bank roll a successfull poker campaign?

Is it possible to sustain a bank roll through tournament play only?  Or do you feel as if you have to play cash games to make up any tourney losses?

I personally rate myself as a half decent player, however as my job ain't the greatest in the world I tend to find that once I pay my bills I don;t have much left for poker and unless I pick up a win either on line or at a live event I am screwed after playing in a few tourneys!

And advice much appreciated.

If anyone wants to sponsor me to keep playing it would be much appreciated!!! Cool
