Ok I know I'm behind the times, I've not been around the poker scene.  Just watching some stuff on the pokertube and came across the Jennifer Tilly JJ full house hand.

OMG, not sure what was making me laugh more, Phil Ivey's face or her pounding chest.  It's two minutes in (http://www.pokertube.com/Movies.aspx?movie=422&page=4&title=Poker_After_Dark_S01E44_2_4).  I'm sure it's been mentioned before but couldnt find in a forum search.

The new cardroom manager had an interesting situation later in the evening.  Power goes and all the roof lights go out, side lights only left but no computers / clock.  Main casino is ok only effecting card room apparently.

Decision is made to carry on, nice and ambient for a few hands.  Couple of minutes later it goes completely and we are in complete dankness, and I mean complete.  I can't see a thing and just hold onto my chips and start the discussion about a chop.  Jokes ensue about checking in the dark etc and the fun they must have been having on the cash tables.

Couple of minutes later and normal lighting / action was resumed.  I went out next hand but it was interesting for a while.

With 2 tables left I was chip leader and I call a raise when from UTG and im on the button with .

the flop comes  . The raiser bets out 5k and I insta move in. The dealer says allin and I say yes allin. Again she says allin and looks at the other player.

Then she deals the turn. before he makes any action.

A ruling is called and we are told that if he calls the deck will be reshuffled and the  will be back in the deck.

Ok i get another 2 chance to hit my flush but as a blank the 9 is a good card for me.

By the way he had the aces, he thought he was behind but had to call.

Good bunch in last night and a great amtosphere. As said the new guy Jeff was working with a softly softly approach taking it all in.

They have actually taken on 2 new managers with the other 1 starting next week so hopefully it will be good times again at Luton

It was little old me, was just scared of the set, no doubt I'd have called regardless.  Used chips as best I can came 4th.

Split the pot was the ruling.

If a dealer accidentally mucks your hand it's the players fault.  I guess same argument could be made that the player must protect their hand.  But given the description of events protecting your hand doesn't sound that easy.

Cards should never come out a muck in professional tourney in my mind so fair decision.

As with others I saw the scenery a the start and thought it would be worth the fear of heights.  Then I saw the pipe sections and how thin the concrete was when there was holes in the path.

Yes, instincts form a large part of my game, often get compliments with people saying good call or "how can you call that".

But I reckon gut feelings, instincts etc are often explained but just spotting something strange in the betting patten of the opponent on a subconscious level and are infact informed decisions.

Can someone please point out CIA out on these pics please. I wanted to catch him for some plumbing advice but at least I'll know for BB7!
Doesn't your job make you an expert in all things plumbing? Smiley

Got to agree the friendliness of all the blondes and DTD staff I met really made the weekend for me.

That saturday evening (or technically sunday morning) on the cash table was ace fun and I do regret leaving early before the blind betting and other sillyness.  In hindsight saving winnings for the Sunday comps wasn't such a wise move.

The thoughts running through my head when asked "Are you in a hand?, just go in to the toilets and listen"

The quiz on Sunday was excellent, special thanks to Ironside for hosting and for inadvertently causing most the laughs.

Dealing a few of the earlier heads up games, sorry for any suckouts dealt.

The Sunday evening "winddown" which I think I may have technically gatecrashed but thanks for the excellent company and the laughs.
