Ok, thanks. I guess with so much free information available , it wasn't cost effective anymore. It must be tough to keep any magazine running these days.

When did they stop printing it mate?   I had this same discussion with a friend, he said it was last year, however I have issues from earlier this year. I know there was a US version, so perhaps I had a version of that from this year.  The digital version may have to do.  Thanks

I have been a regular reader of this magazine for years. Up until recently, I had no trouble buying it at WH Smith each month. About 4 months ago, the Kilmarnock store no longer stocked the magazine and now Ayr have also stopped selling it. When I asked the store manager (also a poker fan) why this was, he kindly checked the sales figures for me on his laptop and told me it had been in decline in terms of sales for some time.
They only stock what is popular. It was a bit irritating to see a 1D magazine on sale when my favourite magazine has been cut. Interestingly they also cut the WPT magazine this year as well from both the Kilmarnock and Ayr stores.  He mentioned a digital copy of this magazine is available, but for me it isn't the same. Buying an actual magazine each month gave me that feeling of waking up to a Beano or Eagle being delivered by the postman when I was a kid. Sad times .

I have tried a One Direction egg. We sell them at work. One was damaged and I had a bit. I guarantee someone on here will be at least a little bit jealous of me right now .

I don't know the guy as well anymore, but whenever any of my friends mention him we all have a laugh about his snail fetish. I am not laughing now as his snails are making him money , lol. He sells them to local restaurants when he gets too many. His wife keeps telling him to do it full time so he can be at home more for the kids, but he loves his job working for Scottish Gas so just keeps it as a hobby. After he got married around 2008 he sent me a small box of some snails to sample. I declined the gift which he seemed a little confused and upset by.

Thanks mate. I will take a look at these books. To be honest, I have always been a bit sceptical of online marketing and other such sales sites until recently. An old school friend changed my mind after talking with him at a New Years party last month. His hobby is bee keeping and breeding snails for his cooking passion. He has been doing this since he was at University and although doesn't have any qualifications in the subject knows a lot about it in an amateur way. At the end of 2011 he wrote a 107 page ebook about his snail passion advising others how to get started. Between 2012 and the start of 2015 he has made over £70k from this book. I was gobsmacked. He still works full time, but as he says it took him about two months to write the book with his wife's help and it is now passive income. He is active on various cooking forums and hobbies sites where he has a link to his book.

I have been looking into this recently. Hitting 35 at the end of last year was difficult for me to take initially. However instead of getting down about getting older I decided to try and make some changes in my life. I have been looking at a site called clickbank. Does anyone have any experience with clickbank they can share good or bad?

Its surprising how differently I view the players in this show now. When I first watched this at about 22 years old, I thought it all looked very exciting. Now watching this at 34, the only player I have any respect for was the geologist who works to provide for his family.  I have no time for any of the rest of them.  When I watched LNP years ago Jacarama seemed wild and an exciting poker player who I thought was a cool guy, now he just seems like a bit of a loser.

I found the show I was talking about and there is even an old blonde thread about it.

lol,  he did ok I guess.  I have been trying to find the name of the other player. He was a young online guy as well like JP Kelly. I seem to remember he made a good start and made some money only to lose it by the end of the show. He lived at home with his parents in the show.

That's probably like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Yea, I have searched everywhere for it online. All I remember is it was on British tv years ago and it also featured a female online player who played online as it was easier looking after her kids. There was once a poster on blonde who knew the players concerned and mentioned him in a thread.

May have been this

I remember watching all these tv shows years ago. What show was it with Joe Beavers winning a motorbike on a boat?  I also remember another poker show with Jac Arama playing backgammon.

This one was good    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-Q5ZNqv4p0

Years ago I also remember watching a poker tv show about a young guy from the UK who tried to turn a profit using another guys money. I have no idea who It was . I have a feeling the UK player who was sponsored by Blue Square/pokerstars  was also on the show.  My memory fails me regarding names, etc.

I don't remember anything before my 8th birthday (had meningitis when i was 17 and that was a side effect)

No idea why it happened to affect that date but it did.

Similar to Baldock at college just before i got meningitis actually for some reason i declined to go out with a good bunch of friends. The car they were in crashed and one of my best friends was killed (the driver has only just come out of jail now)

Definitely some unpleasant memories there mate. Meningitis is a terrible illness, one of my childhood friends had it and he still has the side effects some 30 years later.

Lol,  the cheetah is the best.

Great stuff Baldock. How did you find yourself in a position to climb that?   Is climbing an interest of yours or was it some sort of charity thing?

I was bored one night in my freshers year at uni, as saw an online post recruiting students from my uni to raise money for a childrens charity and climb kilimanjaro, so I thought why not and signed up. Travelling had always been my plan for after university so I thought this would be a nice way to start!

lol,  from being bored to climbing a massive  mountain .  Most people rent a movie or go for a beer down the pub when they are bored  Cheesy
