This is my house, I have to defend it!

I used £220 of DTD tourney credit to be credited as 2x £110 UKPC mini online day 1 tickets. However I made day 2 with an above average stack and didn't Fire the 2nd ticket. It's now stuck in my account as a $165 UKPC mini ticket. As it is branded as a UKPC mini ticket I can't use it for any other $165, such as the UKIPT, unless another UKPC mini makes an appearance.

Can this ticket either be switched to a UKIPT $165 ticket to be used in the party sats or refunded back as £110 DTD tourney credit at the club?

I've messaged Glenn a few times about this and he has said there is no procedure in place for dealing with this but he will see what he can do. It's been a few weeks though and I'd like to get it sorted while the sats are still running on Party or before I'm next there for UKIPT and potentially using it for buyins

My party login is JRod_Fett

Cheers
Paul

Does the Palms place price include Internet in the room for laptop/phone?

Does anyone know if the hotel prices in general include internet in the room or if we have to pay extra for it once we are there?

Also are the resort fees not Included in any booking at all?  Trying to price stuff up and having a tought time trying to work out if I would need to pay for Internet on top and if the resort fee is included as nowhere seems to confirm or deny

probably not the correct thread but out of interest.  If someone won a main event package with sky and also a main event package with another site that have similar conditions to sky (wear a patch, non-transferrable, cant get the cash) how would it be resolved?

The top teams are buying up all the quality players from the other teams and sitting them on their bench making it less competitive throughout. Those players are generally getting only a short time to prove themselves before being dumped on the bench or in the reserves but by then they're on so much money that they'd rather sit out the contract than move on and earn less but play and none of the other teams can afford to match their wages. After a couple of years of barely playing by the time they do go to another club their skill level, enthusiasm and desire has dropped and they never comemclose to fulfilling their potential.  I think it ruins a lot of quality players with potential and limits the pool of players teams outside the top 4 can choose from with real quality.

Also I think English clubs are far too quick to sack managers not allowing them to build a team over time and then improve it. I think it leads to English teams being tactically outclassed when they play more settled sides.

Too many mediocre managers keep getting jobs via the merry-go-round and keeping clubs from improving themselves for pushes up the league over time, young English players being sold for stupid amounts of money to then sit in the reserves at bigger clubs etc

Generally I think there's so much money at stake in the league that teams refuse to take risks in terms of players, managers and tactics for fear of dropping out the league and losing money and it's costing them competitively in the long run, which in turn hurts the other teams playing against lesser competition every week etc, they take the quick and easy option.

A good example is athletico Madrid, I haven't followed the story closely so I will have missed loads but it seemed they scouted and bought pretty shrewdly, took a chance on an unproven manager with good ideas and gave him the freedom to implement those ideas and they ended up with a great team led by Diego Costa, won la liga and got to the champs league final. Another is Porto when Mourinho managed them, took a chance on a manager and developed their players over time, won the uefa cup then the champions league, sold all their players to all of the top teams for fortunes and the manager went on to win leagues and cup at several big clubs. It's hard to imagine a team out with Chelsea or the Manchester clubs winning the league without just ploughing £150 million into the squad and getting the best available manager.

Yeah check that thread and ask there but I think last minute flights to Vegas are like £800 return plus the cost of hotel on top.

There's millions of things to do there that isn't poker or gambling

You've sold 50% to 15 investors and built up a stack in the WSOP main event (say day 3) when you hear some tragic news. You want to fly home to grieve and be with your family, attend the funeral etc.

What do you do?

Pay the investors what your stack is worth? What if you can't afford to do that? What if a backer has >50% + $50k makeup?

Horrible situation all round, is this just part of the variance of buying pieces? Do all investors just have to suck it up and understand and write it off?

Feels morbid discussing it but it came up last night and just had no clue what would happen.

Have the family delay funeral arrangements for 3-4 days while you finish up

Bill Goldberg started out 173-0 in his professional wrestling career in WCW which included winning a US title and vacating it as he won the world title with multiple defenses of the title within that streak.  He defeated legends of the sport on that streak including Hulk Hogan, Sting, Lex Luger, Diamond Dallas Page and Brett Hart.  Arguably his reign of dominance wouldve been much longer as he lost the title due to these shenanigans at 15m 39s

Some MMA candidates

Ronda Rousey
Anderson Silva
Georges St. Pierre

I was going to say, MMA has some great candidates.

Anderson Silva entered the UFC in 2006 18-4 and won 16 on the bounce over the next 6 years, usually in devastating fashion, including a dethroning and twice annihilating of Rich Franklin who, himself was a pretty dominany force with a 22-1-1 record when they first fought. He's lost twice to Chris Weidman, but no body thinks that's because Weidman is a better fighter (good as he is). Hopefully he's back with his recent Diaz win, but I think we're all braced for a retirement, if not now, then following one of his next couple of fights.

Georges St Pierre entered the UFC 5-0 and appart from his novice loss to Matt Hughes (in his prime) and a shock defeat by Matt Serra (legend) he's went 20-2 as a UFC Welterweight, including avenging both losses. Not having any of this Jonny Hendriks was robbed rubbish either. GSP clearly won 3 rounds of 5.

Talking of Matt Hughes, he was pretty dominant before GSP came along and spoilt the party. His 45-9 record has an 18 win streak, followed by two quick losses, then a 19 fight winning run broken only by a loss to BJ Penn smack bang in the middle. The game evolved and time is unforgiving, but 1998 - 2006, Matt Hughes was unarguably the greatest welterweight on the planet.

And what about Jose Aldo at Featherweight? 25-1, 15 straight in WEC/UFC, hasn't lost since 2005. Much as I love Conor McGregor, I just don't see a dethroning when they meet. Utterly dominant champion.

Not to forget Fedor Emilianenko too. Until Fabricio Werdum broke the spell in 2010 Fedor was 31-1-1 and the loss was a controversial 1st round 17 second doctors stoppage. Ignoring that and the NC against Big Nog due to an accidental clash of heads, Fedor won 31 straight against a murderers row on heavyweight/open weight killers. If only the UFC deal could have been done.

Ronda Rousey is 10-0, and that includes 9 1st round stoppages, and 8 armbar submissions. Cat Zingano's 9-0 streak is coming to an end saturday 28th Feb.

Jon Jones (sadly, cos he's a dick) has been utterly dominant, at least he was until Alex Gustaffson was robbed at UFC 165. He's gone 5 rounds in his last 3 fights and I think once he loses to Alex at the rematch this summer, much like with Fedor, the spell will break, and he'll look human again.

Finally, you have to mention Demetrious Johnson. 21-2-1, and his only loss in UFC was to Dominic Crus at Bantam Weight. As a Flyweight, he looks unbeatable for the foreseeable future.

Forgot about Jones who deserves to be there after cutting through a historically elite lineup of LHW's, I did consider the rest but didnt list Fedor because he lost to guys that are doing ok but arent champs in UFC (Werdum, Henderson, Bigfoot) and with nog and Cro Cops performances in UFC I was harsh with his non-signing to the UFC to prove he was the best.

Johnson and Aldo are great champions but, imo, in newer divisions that dont have any all-time great fighters.  Didnt go for Hughes because he lost to Penn and his win over Newton was a complete robbery but its probably being harsh as he completely dominated the division for a time with elite wrestling in a time where the majority of MMA fighters couldnt wrestle.

Have you guys actually checked the account tab? I thought I hadn't been paid but tourney dollars don't show up on the main lobby next to your real dollars

Party's online software is a total disaster. They have been having lots of server problems which has including cancelling and refunding all in-progress tourneys

Who had day 1 of the mini in the sweep?
