Id have folded, witht he blinds at that level theyre not really worth stealing and you never know when a random hand could be a monster or when you're going to get outdrawn. If he survived until later in the tourney where the blinds were worth stealing then Id insta call but, IMO, there's no need to committ yourself this early.

I hate this rule for the simple fact that I could get tot he river, call a bet and take the hand but not see what my opponent raised with pre flop and bet with. If you pay the price at the end you should be entitled to see your opponents cards as it provides information on how that person plays. A showdown should be just that...a SHOWdown. If you're embarrassed to show your hand at the end of betting then you shouldnt have played the hand the way you did.

You can get away from it, its a huge laydown but if you think you're behind you're away from it with only a 2k loss and you've still got more than 10 BB's. A lot of people forget trips can get hammered quite often, mostly by straights and flushes and both draws are on there with 1 guy having the flush draw and missing.
Not saying Id have folded in the same situation, Id probably have went for it too but if you consider you're stack if you fold in relation to the blinds, the straight draw and flush draw on board and the 2 overcards with 2 all ins before you then there is a lot of reasons to make a conservative pass.
