77  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Re-Entry and Late Reg - Your Views please? on: September 01, 2015, 11:23:28 AM
Id say 25/25s are the most reasonable when it comes to their late reg and re entry policy.

The last 2 sky poker events at DTD and the last UKIPT there just seemed like they were set up for people to re-enter as many times as possible.

GPS have probably done the most to their re-entry and late reg structure to have players fire as often as possible
78  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Re-Entry and Late Reg - Your Views please? on: August 31, 2015, 11:20:32 PM
Ideally Id like to see Late Reg a bit shorter.  I dont think its that bad mostly but I think its nonsense when people can buy into day 2 of a tournament.

Id also like to see Re-Entry limited to 1 per flight unless theres only 1 day 1 or something like that and allow 1 re-entry during late reg mostly to save people from themselves.  If someone goes for several bullets they might not go to the next tournament incase they end up in for loads again.

The "pro's" having an advantage because they can punt it and just re-enter isnt a legit arguement imo as its not like its only pros that will re-enter and recs will never re-enter.  Its more a case of the pros who can afford it will re-enter if they want to and so will the recs.  There will be pros and recs alike who have 1 bullet to fire at a tourney and cant re-enter if something goes wrong.  I think it also swings both ways on this too, people might punt it and gamble knowing they can re-enter, which causes more variance for recs but on the other side of it,  its now harder to really put pressure on someone early in the tourney.  Putting "recs" to decisions for their tournament life on the early levels is almost redundant now as they can also just call it off and hope theyre right and re-enter if theyre not.

One thing that really gets up my nose with PP  is the hand history function . To try and go back and review exit hands after you are out seems to be impossible to do , the so called HH player doesn't work at all .

Then if you are reviewing HH in play the whole layout / look/ functionality is useless IMHO .

Really frustrating

This, they could really do with improving the Hand History replayer.

Haven't read the whole thread so might have been mentioned before. Can they get rid of the popup message every 30-60 mins saying we have been disconnected from the server due to inactivity. At least the option to turn off this popup or for it to only appear if we click on the party client.

Also today I was making notes on players and noticed that the little graphic that indicates we have a note on someone is small and blends in with player names and avatars so it's quite hard to see that you have a note on someone at first glance, could they make it more noticeable?

In, do we need to specially request with you to change our start day from the sky seat?  I cant just do it at the desk at DTD?  Im probably going to play a Thursday flight but not 100% which one yet
81  Poker Forums / Diaries and Blogs / Re: The Best In The Business on: August 03, 2015, 02:21:17 PM
I was very very conscious that last Sunday was my best ever in terms of number of stacks I had. I remember I had 10 50k+ stacks all in big majors. I wanted to make sure everything I did today in terms of preparation etc was exactly the same, kind of superstitious like that.

In game was incredibly frustrating at times, I got off to a good start, I was 1/15 in the early 109, but after some ridiculous plays from opponents I was pretty short and busted in a funny hand to finish 9th. Was happy as I had big stacks everywhere again, a little later I was itm in the $215 PLO8 weekly tournament which I really like. I like playing plo8 and plo and trying to be an all round better poker player, so was really happy to ship this one outright and felt like I had a good grasp of the final table.

I built up big stacks like I said, had another 2 final tables and then 10th in the Sunday 6max, but thats ok. I played poorly once in the money in this tournament and definitely didn't deserve to get the big $ up top.

The day was getting incredibly more frustrating and annoying, because 888 kept going down every 5 minutes and 20%+ of my attention was fixed on trying to fix 888 which was hindering my other tables as it was in peak.

I was 1/15 in the crocodile and just knew something bad would happen. I get to the final table, there pot is 70k, I have 60k left and its a dream board for my bb defending range vs tight guy on 87598ddxdx and I had j7dx and was just about to shove the river and the software kicked me out, I couldn't get back in eventually it folded me and he had the pot either by betting (potentially min betting) or checking back a hand. It kept kicking me off and then eventually from having 30-40bbs I have 10bbs, sb jams and I call k9ss and I'm drawing dead on the flop against 75.

Was so annoying, my whole focus of early session was just completely thrown and I didn't react well to it. I wasn't really tilted or anything, just really hurt my motivation.

Ended the session short not regging the 109r/215r/supersonic and all the late turbos, was OK to book a win, lets see if 888 give me the 4 figures of equity they stole too!

Did a really good coaching session on Friday with European for all our guys. We recorded my Thursday Thrill final table and went through every decision for 2 hours, only got through 30% of the footage, but lots of stuff which gave good food for thought for our guys and we could speak about things that we can't in a normal hh review like timing, or mistakes the other regs were constantly doing that you don't see on a hh review (non showdown) Really enjoying running the stable and hopefully it continues to grow.

One of our guys just won the 109r tonight for 40k, so good job to Mysto <3

This week will be preparing for Barcelona a little bit, keeping healthy, studying poker and probably play 1 session outside of Sundays session.

Did they not deploy this?

http://uk.pokernews.com/news/2015/07/888poker-connectivity-issues-pause-tournament-18624.htm

They have it, but a lot of the time the tables are frozen and can get forgotten amongst a row of other tables, it takes refreshing the lobby/table to make sure we reconnect and get back into the game.  The pause only happens when the connection drops everyone but it doesnt wait till everyone is back so its pretty easy to miss that you're sitting out and not refresh the table before the tournament resumes.

Been on holiday for a week so my info isn't fully up to date but the most incredible thing about the Warrington situation is that I don't think he's broke or anywhere near. Although you never really know

Got last minute tickets and the atmosphere was incredible. The buzz when McGregor knocked him out was right up there with some of the best sporting moments ever

86  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Brian Hastings on: July 01, 2015, 07:50:52 PM
I have a friend who pokerstars caught playing their own account through VPN from America shortly after Black Friday and stars confiscated all of their winnings over that time.

I know some people that are/were banned from pokerstars for multi-accounting.

I know of lots of people who had to leave behind their friends and family and move to another country to continue being professional poker players and I know people that were forced to stop being professional poker players because they couldn't/wouldn't leave their family behind and move to continue and now they're pursuing other avenues that may be less profitable/fun/harder work etc

If stars don't take action here then it's a slap in the face to all of those players who have been punished for breaking the rules and knowing how it personally affected all of them I don't see why Hastings should get away with it because he is more high profile. Stars should take back every penny he has won and ban him from their events and site for an appropriate amount of time.

I've heard for a while now that there is a big group of Americans VPN'ing from America under new accounts. I think it's part of a new service that provides the setup and the account. It should be obvious in most cases, like the top American MTT grinders that aren't around anymore. They're not just suddenly quitting poker and not playing anymore. Hopefully this will highlight that to stars and try to go after the players doing that. From my point of view.

Building up your hopes so much leads to bigger disappointment, if you cant handle that kind of disappointment you really need to rethink your mindset going into the tournaments.

Im normally person B in this spot and ALWAYS got short changed by people A.  Dont think it really needs to be calculated to the penny if you're friends.  Id say around £8/£12 split is fair with both making a similar proportional saving by sharing

I felt like it was very predictable.

The girl was seemingly alwyas going to die. Khalessi was never in trouble and the dragon was always going to
Come to her rescue. Dragon was more hurt by the spheres than I would have imagined.

No development with Cersei. Little action with the wildings. Little action with Jamie.
I think this felt like an episode 5 rather than an episode
9.

Actually agree with all of this, though I still enjoyed the episode very much. It says something in GOT when the shocking part is that I was shocked Khaleesi, Tyrion, Jorah and the Khaleesis bloke all survived.

Good summaries.

Thought the dragon would have been more fierce and wiped out the lot of them with some collateral damage along the way.

The final scene where she got on and flew off reminded me too much of the film the never ending story that i watched a million times when i was a kid.

It all felt a bit dissappointing and obvious to me. It wasnt GOT enough.

Looking forward to the finale though.

Thought the same at 1st but saw a few things pointing out that the dragons are around 3-4 years old and should live for around 200 years.  They wont be fully grown or mature until theyre around 50 where they will grow to like 4x its current size, its skin/scales will grow tougher and stronger, itll be able to breathe fire more consistently and itll be smarter.  Its effectively still a child.
