Push that Car

A man pushed his car. He stopped when he reached a hotel at which point he knew he was bankrupt. Why?

He had been out drinking and remembered that he should not drink and drive, so he pushed. Whilst he was pushing, some poor beggar mugged him of all his money. Without wallet and nowhere else to go he tried for a local hotel. However, when he arrived, he checked his pockets to realise that the beggar had even mugged him of his 2nd spare credit card, which he doesn't always keep in his wallet. It was at this point that he realised that he was bankrupt.

Interesting sidenote i was reading a gambling book of short racing stories a few months ago(it was terrible) the guy that wrote it was a cab driver ex bookie/pro punter part time author anyhow he spelled bokk, "boche" and that was from like 20 odd years ago.
