Mystery I agree with you again, Ferdinand is one of the best defenders in the world has pace, can read the game but very lazy as publically known and against the european and south American teams he is always affective!

Knowing Rio personally from a young age how may of you knew that he was a Centre Forward up to the age of 16, then at Youth team level played in a 3 man midfield with Lampard and a guy called Chris Sains who was better at 18 than both of these put together, but didn't have is Dad and Uncle at the club or the influence of the Ferdinand football name.

He was then at 17 while playing midfield in the Youth Team playing Centre Half in the Reserves and the rest is History.

boltpp i take it you dont like Rio by your remarks, is it his fault he played in midfield yesterday and of course he knows he doesn't have the skill of Ronaldo but when does he player  playing the holding role need to be skillful?

And you say paul Ince a rock in midfield, he is the guy that never moved out of the centre circle or past the half way line or he would faint, and the same guy who bottled it from the 1998 shootout against Germany.

Come on skippy, play the game m8. Is  Michael aspell turning up?
As a defender, Ferdinand is above average(if very lazy).
But he lacks any of the requisite attributes to be an effective midfielder.
In reference to your comment that "i'ts not his fault that he was played in fidfield" i find it highly unlikely that he has'nt been in detailed conversation with the boss pertaining to his eroneous positioning.
But in the words of the veracious, reputable England manager:
                                                       "he's too talented" Cheesy

Not sure you can beat the legend that is...

Paul McGrath

If he wasn't currently lining his stomach with ethanol, then I'd be tempted to stick him back in the Villa team.
Is Suanders still helping out at villa, sven my give him another go when he turns up!

lol........that is the funniest thing ive ever read!!  ferdinand over rated?........lol  hes the best defender in the world, noone and i mean noone is as cool and composed as he is in defence, he makes defending look the easiest thing in the world, wolves were lucky it wasnt 7-0........And that is now 12 FA Cup games without conceding a goal, cant be that bad in defence
If it was twelve straight carling cup games maybe i'd listen!

Poor Sir Alex, It's all come on top and he cant hack it anymore.
Not only are the once redoubtable Man u about as intimidating as an Eriksson law suit, but ,
the most over rated defender in the world is set to become the nucleus of the utd midfield.

Ferdinand took it upon himself to have a little run around the midfield when he came on againt Burton last week, and relativly impressed.

A week and a half later and it's turned into the twilight zone.
Ferdinands running about the midfield like a muppet, trying to be Ronaldo.

Poor Paul Ince, once himself the midfield rock of utd, could'nt concentrate through laughter, thus the SHOCK result.

Ferdinand is an average defender devoid of pace, tecnical prowess, and tactical insight.

If Sven in intent on revenge then he has been give the perfect platform on which to exact it.
Lampard would be about as safe with Ferdinand just behind him as he would with Sweeny todd, getting ready to give him a short back and sides.

Ferdinands' useless, Svens' a dougnut, and Fergersons' a mug.

I'm going to e-mail the F.A, weve got to get the likes of Tim flowers and darren huckerby back on the firm!!!!!!!!

Pushing on a public door marked "pull" for five minuites, then, once you've noticed the sign, carrying on for another ten because your sure you've nearly broken it.

Trying  to pretend the cups of tea you've just made arn't burning your hands so badly you want to cry.

ALWAYS turn straight to the back of the newspaper!!!!!!!

Fowler used to get ruined about being a bit chunky, He's got such great close ball control its a shame.
People dig him out cos he's a bit of a character, but, thats all good, imagine if everyone was like Beckham!!!
It only takes one Robbie fowler to cancel out hundreds of boring, mundane"football celebs"
9957  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Celebrity Big Brother on: January 27, 2006, 09:09:59 PM
I backed chantelle at 8.4 on Betfair a couple of weeks ago, then layed her at 1.15 this morning so i return more if she loses.

                    Get the non celeb out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it may ruin an innocent young girls life if she loses, but i win an extra £10!!!!!!!!!

OUT OUT OUT;-)

Can never resist skipping the i-pod over to the Indiana Jones Soundtrack when someone acting before me goes all-in and I hold pocket Aces.

I call first, wouldn't want to slow roll.

If you go all-in and I call you, then reach into my pocket and don some earphones, start putting yer jacket on  Cheesy
What do you switch to when he trips up his pocket nines on the flop?
The final countdown maybe?-)
9959  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: not keeping records on: January 27, 2006, 04:09:27 PM
GAMBLING is non taxable... the government will not inccur the losses!

I can guarantee it!
I'ts only been non taxable for a few years. It was a tax that the Goverment was forced to recind, precipitated by the exodus of bookmakers offshore. With the amount of money traded on-line daily the goverment are indeed interested in reserecting the principal of the gambling tax that they indignantly gave up!

That was a tax on bookmakers, NOT a tax on gambling indivduals. Income from gambling has not been taxed in the UK for many many many years, if ever... UK case law is very difficult to overturn, so when a judge passes a decree that a person who wins money from gambling not to do with his trade (eg if he gambles in his own club, it can be taxed) then it is not taxable as it is a prize and not income.

Bookmakers would pass the tax onto their customers, but this was not a tax on gambling income, it was a tax on your stake.
Was there a specific precedent set by the judicury that has been adapted to common Law?
Its also my understanding that being a member state of the EU has made it increasingly EASIER to discredit and superceed domestic case law precedents in the ECHR, or ECJ.
