Baron you seem to know the turn out with regards to my earlier posts so if we're on the same page I'll tell you what I think.
Although any type of collusion is prohibited the severity of this collusion if indeed any is seemingly minimal.
If i were to ascribe blame or guilt of a significant nature to any persons that were suspected of colluding I would think that the most important factor in doing so would be to identify a prior intent to do so.
Not only was this not a cash game, but, it was a multitable of modest stakes which in itself dissallows any form of antecedence with regards to an agreemennt on colluding as there are no guarantees untill the final table, if indeed both parties make it.
The word"collusion" has such a severe connatation for most in this day and age and I think it a tad harsh to use in regards of this situation. If the "suspects" were indeed guilty it is of nothing more than an exagerated form of staying out of eachothers way as they have inadvertantly found themselfs in a situation whereby a simple reciprical arrangement can see them finish than perhaps they're legitimatly supposed to.
I of course understand that this is fundamentaly cheating and technically collusion but in light of professional collusion it seems derisory.

As fantastic as you may think that sounds, it is in fact totally incorrect as I was playing a SnG. (One table tournament!)

Good work there Shakespeare. Cheesy
lol, ok but still a little harsh to tag that sort of "skullduggery" as being collusion. Ive been in a bent game, chips on the cards and all that turn out, Even though i had a clue they were at it i was intent on beating them as i was slaughtered, that was serious collusion that left me a lot worse than just skint after the game . so when you complain about collusion in an on line st it makes me laugh!!!
9963  Poker Forums / The Rail / cryptology defect? on: January 27, 2006, 01:30:32 AM
I have encoutered a problem twice now with the software on which will hill poker site is run.
What compells me to think that it could be a cryptology problem is that I first saw this problem occour on betfair poker.
Whilst playing in a nl six pack I made an initial raise which saw the short stack go all in.
Another player at the table flat called and when it came to me i intended to get all my chips in.
But when it came to my go i was not afforded the opportunity to do so.
I was presented with only the option of flat calling by a single icon even though the two active players left both had substantial chip stacks!
Both times this happened i was outdrawn by the player i wanted to set all in pre flop.
Everytime this has happened it has been preceeded by a similar pettern of events.
Has anyone else encountered this problem or has it been brought to light before?
9964  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: poker music on: January 27, 2006, 01:04:37 AM
No it is not my normal music. I normally listen to Pearl Jam, The Prodigy, Guns n Roses ....some classical.

But I felt myself getting really stressed at the table online. I kept getting beaten by people holding lucky cards. When this happened I automatically typed something offensive or went on tilt. So I had a look round the shops in Glasgow for a relaxation CD I could play while playing. I couldn't find anything, but soon after my friend downloaded a dolphin and whale CD to play to his new baby ( It is suppose to be soothing). I asked him for a copy.

I think it works. I like nature anyway and like the sounds of the ocean. This is really calming.

I am sure he got it from the music icon on the msn site. £5.99 I think. It is worth it if you like that sort of thing.

It works for Daniel Negreanu. He said in an interview he regularly plays this sort of thing at the table.
To be honest I have no idea if i like that sort of thing but i may give it ago! cheers m8

they are this is true, but if they do so remember to keep your entry receipts and losing horse racing tickets to use as losses to offset against your winnings  Cheesy
I tried to save up the losers but greenpeace found out I had such a sizable amount of paper in my possesion that thay confiscated them under the conservation of rainforests act-)

GAMBLING is non taxable... the government will not inccur the losses!

I can guarantee it!
The Goverment didn't inccur the losses, which is why you could pay the 9% tax on your bet before you placed it or have 9% deducted from your winnings. Incidently the actual tax commanded by the goverment was 7%, the extra 2% as added by the bookmakers for "adminisration costs"

I'ts only been non taxable for a few years. It was a tax that the Goverment was forced to recind, precipitated by the exodus of bookmakers offshore. With the amount of money traded on-line daily the goverment are indeed interested in reserecting the principal of the gambling tax that they indignantly gave up!

I like listening to Pearl Jam while playing. But over the last couple of weeks I have been listening to a Dolphins and Whales CD.
This sounds abit new-age hippy type stuff I know. However, I like feeling calm and this certainly does it. Try it...feel the peace man...lol
Is this something that you would listen independent of playing poker, or did you purposfully buy it to achieve the aforementioned sense of calm.I'm seriouly interested to know, and if you think it works?

Dont worry about not keeping records, pertainig to your poker finances anyway.
It can be used as evidence!!!!!!!!!!

Evidence for what?? Its not taxable. And unless you have a serious amount saved up, its not gonna affect any benefit you claim either.
If your bank roll is of a sizable amout, then, for obvious reasons irrespective of any poker influence, the Inland Revenue can investigate to see if you are in the correct tax bracket.
With regards to poker winnings being taxed i have heard several different reports that the goverment plan to formulate a green paper that will outline proposals to re-introduce a gambling tax that will affect the entirety of domestic on-line gaming. These reports are unsubstantiated and speculative though i've had them all independent of one another. Heard of any such proposals?

It can be used as evidence!!!!!!!!!! Keep the dough you earn from poker tucked away.
Most importantly dont let the Inland Revenue or benifits agency find out the'll dip you quicker than you can say:"Job Seekers Allowance"!
9971  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Bank Roll on: January 27, 2006, 12:12:05 AM
It very much depends on what games you feel you are most successful at.

For a cash game, limit poker you are talking 300 big bets. Grind it. NL, you gotta have more for the increased variance, but many people play below that and feel it works for them.

STTs online, about 25 buyins seems to be the magic number, with an expected ROI of between 10-20% if you are half decent.

MTTs... I tend to enter tournaments that are less than 5% of my total roll. But I have the liberty of doing this. before I built my roll I was depositing spare cash and playing slightly outside of my roll to try and get somewhere.
I wish I'd imparted a proper answer like that!!!!
Can you sub me £1.20? I've got my eye on thiis low limit 10 seater i think I can take down!
9972  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Bank Roll on: January 27, 2006, 12:02:46 AM

Iron you dont have a problem with either. your spelling and grammar is like mine. But you do know how to use paragraphs. Everything else can be excused. But not using paragraphs is like leaving the toilet seat down.
The toilet seats down in my gaff!!!!!!!!!

Yea matt, I make the distiction here, because both mystery and bolt seem to have a good grasp of the subject medium and show the ability to express themselves through language I would consider to be above basic. Yet the way they write their posts means that only the patient readers are going to bother reading what they have to say.

And that is a great shame, because many of us actually want to read what they say!

As for posters who are perhaps not as linguistic as others... who gives a shit! Post away. We're a wide and varied bunch, and if one person takes a dislike to someone because of the way they post, then fk em! It is they who have the problem, not the poster. Now, that might sound a tad contradictory, but it is not. I can critizise peoples posting style without disliking the person.

I can argue about a subject with Scottish Dave, for example, yet still sit down for a beer and a friendly chat in Cincins. Some people get defensive and are a bit sensitive on blonde to certain things when no malice has been shown. I can understand why, this is their home as much as anyone elses and a percieved arguement simply rocks a boat that does not want or needs to be rocked.
Your first paragraph encapsulates the comments of my Year Eleven English Teacher, Do you know him?   Oh no!!    its all coming back to me............................."I dont want to go to School Mum,they take my lunch money".    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Thanks Mikky years of therapy wasted!!!!!!
