Well, I wasn't expecting that.  Great stuff from Liam Broadly.

All the best Ironside. Hope you get home soon.

Had a good day at Wimbledon with my mum on Monday. Was really glad of the massive queue for groundpasses as we got in at 10:30 with our court two tickets and a very small queue and managed to get a seat courtside on a small outside court to see a five set epic between Jordan Thompson and Nakashima. Great comeback as Thompson looked completely out of it for two sets and then started serve volleying - I've never seen a full five setter in person before so it was pretty cool. By 2pm after the short rain delay it was noticably much much fuller, so we spent most of the rest of the time in our court two seats. Interestingly our seats were right next to the player boxes, next to coach and family. So we saw Katie Swan's muted and disappointing performance and her coaches useless encouragement against a frustrated and under par Bencic and Dan Evans looking incredibly low on confidence go two sets down as the light got darker. Wouldn't bet on Evans to win a match in the near future after that, he looked completely shot, full of self doubt.

Glad we weren't there on Tuesday for all the rain

Thiem vs Tsitsipas was match of the tourney so far. Great drama and I'm sure Murray was enjoying watching a five setter with his feet up at home.

Think that is maybe how Evans is?  Saw him at Nottingham last year and he was pretty dour and chastising himself when winning the whole tournament too.  Don't think I'll be backing him, Swan or Dart anytime soon.  Dart seemed to lose it for no reason when losing to Boulter the other week, but she is frequently spikey too.

Was looking to back Murray last night, but he was odds on and the odds looked about right.  Think Murray could go far in this though.

Oh, that sounds a bit grim Marky.  Hope your ma is feeling better back home.

Are you done with Vegas or back for a last hurrah next year?

Allegedly, there were 10 hour queues yesterday at Wimbers.

Allegedly extra security checks to make sure people not carrying orange powder.

It is a long time to queue to watch from Henman Hill* in the rain, given no matches on the outside courts.

I don't know how worthwhile it is, as you'd struggle to get to centre court grass from a ground pass (or even the cheap seats) and nobody is going to notice if you do a protest on a first round match on court 6.
Given Centre Court tickets are so hard to come by, you'd have to be a Coutts current account holder to throw one away for an unsuccessful protest.

* Or Boulter Bump, Norrie Knoll or whatever it is this year

Timing solid on this one.  BBC noticed

Talking about blasts from the past.  Just noticed Ben Grundy is playing the 10k PLO8.  He used to absolutely crush omaha on Betfair winning millions allegedly, and then just seemed to disappear.

Think he now has one of the largest gaps on his Hendon Mob after cashing the other day.  He is really low, so is unlikely to cash big, but gl to him.

$2,500 Big Bet mix

It was two nasty coolers sadly, from the peak of 1.375m

Deuce to Seven

At big blind of 30k, raise to 75k from UTG 5 handed with 98642. Greek guy ships 225k cutoff, Lindgren ships his 510k from the button.

It's close-ish. But it's unavoidable. (Checked with Glaser after, who is good for an honest answer, and he agrees)

Its a call and pat. Greek guy draws one.... But our big sweat is all going to be on Lingdren - what does he do, what is his confidence level as he does it?

He pats in a fairly resigned manner. Wow. This is going to be close then.

But, he has us. 96543

Down to 600k..

No Limit single draw

Big blind of 40k, we have AAxxx in the small. Glaser raises button to 100k.

All lovely.

Ship. He tank calls (Tank doesn't mean anything, it's fair to "slow roll" in this game with a drawing round to come.

Draw 3. Glaser waves his hand...it takes half a second to take in..Glaser is pat. Wow. He has a straight, flush or house.

He has the flush. AQT43 of spades.

We're basically gone. First two cards are a T and 3 , and we are.

8th. Will update amount once I find it.

Gutted. Thanks for the support, it means alot

we'll play Wynn 1k tomorrow, and Main Thursday

Sounds grim Stu.

Presume that is single draw on the 98?  Don't know what I'd do as don't really play it enough.

I was going to post something about not flipping with Benny Glaser as he always wins.  Glad I didn't now.

Good luck later on and in the main.

Thought Katie Boulter was more impressive than Murray.  Still 500/1 with Paddy Power and Betfair Sportsbook.  Does nobody there even work on a Sunday?  Only 2 weeks until Wimbledon, so 2 weeks for the rest to get their eye in.

Think Cazaux is one for the notebooks.  Was a bit overawed at the start, but have Murray a tough test for someone so inexperienced.

He has run good on opponents injuries (when winning) but had reached the semi final in Ilkley.

I have seen it suggested that he should get a wildcard for Wimbledon, so not exactly flying under the radar.

500/1 Boulter and 150/1 Norrie both gone.  Nobody seems to want to play well on the grass amongst the women.  Seeds are getting skittled at Berlin and Edgbaston too.  What chances Dart makes the final?

Cazaux didn't get a wild card and went out in round 1 of qualifying, so proper bok there.

Have had the tennis on in the background.  Seems Dart is really misfiring quite a bit this year after her climb in the rankings last year.

Burrage just tonked McNally who is a tough young American and Burrage was 2/1 today.  Makes it look like that 2/1 in the Nottingham final wasn't so bad after all.  Anyway looks like she is set for top 100 now, so think it is between her and Boulter for GB number 1 at the end of the year.  It will be interesting to see when Raducanu can get back to number 1.  Six months ago, I'd say she was well clear of those 2, but it isn't so clear cut anymore.

Boulter sat down with Burrage after the match in Nottingham and they were all smiles; they are clearly good friends.  Burrage has the better draw now, Boulter looks to have decent games until round 3 where she faces Rybakina. Think Burrage has tougher games, especially Kasatkina, but no impossible game for a while after.  The draw seems to open up after that game.

Am ready to start the WSOP 2024 thread.  I did my June accounts and realised I am still up on the year, pretty much due to getting to June in a better position than in any year since 2013.  Think in a few of the recent years the WSOP has bailed me out, this year has been very different.

I think I played well for most of the trip and genuinely enjoyed nearly everything away from the tables.  I just read some of the hand histories and just think why would I ever miss this?

It definitely isn't guaranteed though, just bought an eco car, and might just not have the cash this time next year.

I don't know if everyone noticed, but Jason Mercier won a bracelet last night after going on a near sabbatical for a few years.

Pretty strong performance for someone who has barely played recently.  I don't know if his emotional support dog was present.

Good luck in the Stud Rob.  Sounds a cracking night too.  Used to spend my childhood holidays up the road in Croydon, but stayed in a place in Kilkhampton a couple of times.  Nice part of the World.

Ha small world .  We will discuss that one further when I bump into you next time .

Think that is a spell checker error (or am going daft).  To be fair just autocorrected to Croydon again, but am probably going daft too.
 Croyde not Croydon obv.
