Daily Summary

No Barnet related action that I am aware of until Friday, when Barnet head across the A127 to Southend, who are in the play-off zone. The three teams in contention have all played the same amount of games, but Barnet have the worst GD. A Friday night Barnet defeat would set the weekend up well, if only to wait & see if either Macclesfield or Hereford can nick a win on Saturday.  Both have relatively "easy" games, Macclesfield away to Bradford, & Hereford home to lowly Northampton. The bet has plenty of mileage yet, but this weekend is crucial, as we are running out of games.

I don't think away against Bradford is an easy game.  They are clearly the best team down near the bottom.  Home and away makes a big difference, and this is away.  If you want to look positively, Bradford's home form isn't as strong as it could be, they have just moved into a "safe" position so could take their foot off the gas (or they could relax and play a lot better, dunno), and Macc have already beat them this season.

The Hereford game seems a much more likely win to me.

All done, apart from the last 9-9 hand "without showdown" according to the great man

Herbie at his table then?  Go the Herbinator

Don't know what is heroic about this.  I can't see why you think the opener and caller are going to be happy playing for stacks here.  Both are likely folding way more often than tehy call.  Even if they do get them in, they look down and see AK more often than they look down and see KK or AA.

Ship it in.

Fold pre and it actually gets worse the deeper you get

this. I can't think of a stack size or situation i'd peel the 86o.

before you say it, EVEN TO A MINRAISE!

I'd need 500bbs, vs some massive whales to peel this.

Alex what about min raise UTG then over call from all players and its round to you on BB i think im calling then... or just jamming!

still folding.

you HAVE to flop two pair+ to continue. The chances of this are about 19:1 I believe. you won't be getting 19:1 pre.

Also there's reversed implied odds. Flop comes 823 are you really gonna be comfortable even calling one bet?

752 flop also thats a good one! rainbow! although in them overcallers youd expect someone to have hit a set!

Dunno, I'd be reasonably happy with three on the flop too.

With 30 players, this will have a bigger first prize than the main event.  A few more and the winner could easily be the highest earning tournament poker player ever.  In the circumstances, it would feel very strange if it was an absolute random who took it down.   At least when Jamie Gold catapulted himself to the top of the rankings he had to beat several thousand people to do so.

Who cares?

I don't really, I just found it a little weird when I thought about it.

I must post stop posting so much...

39 and 40, sending on stars

This payout structure is pretty much spot on - any more top heavy and it's guaranteed to end in a deal.

Erm...last time I checked wasn't it a DTD GTD tourney - no deals allowed?

wha?? you think stars were putting the milly up?!

Pretty sure that Rob said that the no deals policy did not apply to the UKIPT, and I expect the prize structure is exactly what stars said it would be.  if they are anything like the GUKPT there will be a payout structure somewhere based on the number of entrants

Alex, if i understand this right, you have none for yourself.  Only fair you get some given you have done all the organising.  If that is right, you can take a couple of mine, and send back the cost of them via stars.

Cheers
