Would you do this for a 50% freeroll in the main event?

Turns out you should

@Dooobs

I'm sure you will have run into FeelGroggy a time or two when playing Next Door, he's going along nicely too, currently in 31st place. (Danny Grogan).

Wow, used to be part of Graham's training group when we did a few small STTs/MTTs together.  Obviously learned more than me!

A few UK legends in there with Ludovic Geilich, Toby Lewis and John Duthie still in.  Apologies if I missed anyone.

Edit.  Just thought I'd check in next door and there is a thread marked WSOP main omg omg omg.  Was thinking that will be it, but no, was the Sky Forum equivalent of a Rickroll.  "Somebody called 60 chips pre flop with K972 and busted my aces on a 777 flop whinge whinge whinge...". Or something like that.

Welcome to my world. That's the infamous Waddy...

And yes, Groggy always says that Graham (StayOrGo) taught him the game.

I seemed to be attracted to his threads, or every thread with sizeable comments is just one of his whinge threads.

Think FeelGroggy was the best there in those games.  From $1 STTs to main event final tables ...  Hopefully

Bains/Lumsden are 1 win away from being top British  ladies doubles team. Playing the 3 seeds so not going to be easy.

Looks like they got hammered.  Was hoping they were going to do better, but great result for them.

Maia Lumsden almost quit after getting long COVID in 2020(?) and Naiktha Bains came home around the same time after spending her formative years in Australia.  Obviously hoping to do a Konta, but seemed to be going backwards until Wimbledon.  I am pretty sure another female Brit tennis player jacked it in completely after COVID, but can't recall her name.  Not bad for a virus that doesn't harm young people (c) pathological Clare.

Congrats Stu.  Great run and gives us something to aim at next year.

Need to manage expectations a bit better with the long morning thread though Smiley

Main Event, day five

900k

Tower on the rail.

Busman's holiday for the great man

In my head I can just hear him commentating right now.

Good luck Stu, can't do the late shift no more.

You've got plenty of time to rack up some airmiles Mr Camel...

Yeah, pretty sure you wouldn't pay 1500 for economy return if you just paid the annual fee for the credit card and bought air miles when they had a sale.

i thought my vegas days were over, but i'm suddenly really keen to go back to the WSOP next year.

was there a virgin sale this year?

When is the sweet spot to book flights for next June or July?

There was a sale, but prices seemed very high to Vegas throughout.  It seemed to be at least double what it was 5 or so years ago.

I just look for reward flights, and there seemed to be enough availability on many occasions so long as you travelled weekends.

Rob Price did a post where he got there more cheaply through booking a holiday.  From what I remember it wasn't much more expensive to get a decent hotel than paying for the flights alone.  Will try and find it and link in this post.

FWIW I'd probably try and book as early as I could with flights if paying.  Can't remember a year when they got cheap nearer flight time, though somebody could correct me.  Even economy flights have been well over a grand return as June approaches.

Great turnaround.  Kipping early tonight, hoping to see a million when I get up.

Main event day 3

12pm start. 199k. Matesow the obvious name at the table

There was a danger that I was going to get jealous of your run in the main.  Not much chance of that happening now.  Good luck today

Congratulations

I heard Katie Boulter described as the last Brit standing on the radio too.
