So been a busy couple of weeks but seems like a good time for a work update... Saw this link earlier, and although I know some of you don't like the paper I think this headline is going to be reasonably accurate. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8211739/Farce-banks-coronavirus-crisis-loans-just-5-000-businesses.htmlWe still don't have anything agreed and an actual CBIL doesn't appear to be on the table, but to be fair to them there have been a lot changes for us since the process first started. We secured an order for 4000 metal storage trolleys going into NHS Nightingale. The first 250 went in on Friday and the remainder are to be delivered through the rest of the month. That was our biggest ever single order....... Until we found out that one of our Chinese suppliers has a huge amount of PPE available for sale. We have an operation in the USA and things moved very quickly and we now have a 747 full of PPE being delivered to the USA government on Thursday. Further to this, I can get a lot more and even 2000 ventilators but I believe the pricing on these is hugely inflated so I have made offers to NHS & Bupa. Makes me wonder what the UK Government are doing if I can source it so easily. Crazy times compared to wondering if the business would make it through the year 2 weeks ago. Hey All Been a busy couple of weeks since this post! 747 of PPE successfully delivered to NY State Government last week But what is more unbelievable is we offered the same service to the NHS two weeks ago...... nothing. A week ago we spoke to Nicky Morgan who but us directly in touch with Matt Hancock. He passed us on to the cabinet team in charge of sourcing PPE. We were a priority offer for review as we had access to gowns. A week later we have submitted spec sheets but they've ordered nothing. In that same week NY have sorted their second order for 3 more planes full! It's no wonder we are short of PPE! Wow, that’s amazing and really good news that NY state have been well organised in processing the orders. Great news if it means the business doing well again, I’m pleased to hear it👍. Yes, certainly led to a few different conversations with the bank! Been great to help NY as the lady I own the business with lives in Brooklyn. The Chinese supplier donated 100k masks to help and all the pallets were marked up with China and US flags. Will try and post a pic tomorrow. Just frustrating that we can't get a few shipments coming here. Few images as promised How much to charter a 747? Has to be north of £100k? No idea how much it is normally. Everything is through the roof. $1.35m last week $1.65m in May Seems horrendously expensive......never been involved in chartering a 747 before but I’ve been involved in getting prices before for around 250 of us for conferences within Europe and I know what the ball park is hence my guesstimate. You must be making a few quid on the shipment if you can shell that out......good luck to you.........

Priti Patel just proudly informed us that shoplifting has fallen during the lockdown.
I always feel that were are in significantly more trouble than even we are actually are when she hosts one of these.
Mistake putting her up full stop at the moment irrespective of that, she’s just got that resting bitchface/smile that makes it look like she doesn’t give a fk before we even start getting onto the other things going on with her.

We’re the closest that we’ve been in years to being troll free on this forum. It’s a real shame that you keep posting. It’s a shame you keep posting your one eyed nonsense........did you look at who is behind that website?

No one was complaining that the only factory on earth that made nasal swabs was situated in the northern Italy, its ability to produce was limited by events. Who’re knew that so much PPE was made in Hubei.
Not the general public, but there are people whose job it is to know such things and to highlight the risk of too much sourcing being from one place. Aye.....much like the people who were sourcing pasta and bog roll who were likely getting it from way wider providers than PPE providers and still couldn’t cope #anotherbellendwithapoliticalslantthathasnopositivecontributiontomakewhatsoever You’re such an idiot. There was nothing political about that post at all. I was referring to civil servants in the Department of Health. Idiot or not my point still stands.......

I listened to this with some interest. Starmer is a clearly a seasoned politician and has a more forensic approach to that of Corbyn. I don’t see how your Simpsons video is relevant though. He got his wider points across well, but the truth is that the circumstances cry out for a co-operative approach and to hide behind a cloak of ‘constructive criticism’ as you attempt to generalise from isolated individual cases is in no way helpful. Obviously a Starmer led government would have had a secret store of tests in place for Covid19 ready to roll on the day it hit the country. The video is just a jokey reference (they are both lawyers) to the fact that Keir was a top top QC and by comparison Raab’s credentials as a lawyer are rather similar to those possessed by Lionel Hutz. The second point is tired Woodsey/Mantis type nonsense. The modern political divide is at least partly characterised by believing in public investment or not believing in public investment. Of course you’d be in a better position to deal with a pandemic if you had a bigger and better funded public sector. Just the 100,000 or so shortage of NHS staff tells us this. They can’t run the Nightingale in London because they don’t have enough nurses. 41 patients treated so far, 50 rejected due to staffing shortages. Your probably going to have a Tory government for the rest of your life......get used to it and stop whining. It doesn’t diminish my life in any meaningful way (although it might shorten it quite a bit I guess), millions aren’t as fortunate. Of course it does, you spend your life constantly moaning about the Tories, that can’t be a good mindset to have or be good for mental health in any way.
