I play a fair bit of razz. I'd probably have folded this hand right off the bat. I generally fold anything that's not three to an eight low and even then if i've got an eight showing, I need to be almost perfect in the hole to play it if there's much heat before it gets to me.
As Matt mentions, you've had to post the bring in, which means that a fair few of your outs also I hate the raise to $4, IMO and IME razz is much less of a ram and jam game than any other limit game. Apart from that Matt has succintly summarised it.

How bad is calling, and then pushing all-in if there's any raise? Or is it too transparent?
I like that play too and think it works in this spot. Even though the Hero only has 11,400 the biggest stack at the table is only 25000. If we limp and there's a raise from the blinds to say 3000 (both blinds playing around 18k) and we shove there'll be c.16000 in the pot and it'll cost them around 8000 so we may get called by a wide range of two high card hands and weaker aces that we're ahead of, and also may get a fold if they think we've got aces or kings.

This hand was posted on another forum yesterday and sparked some lively debate, so i thought i'd post it here too. I was not involved in the hand so not sure how it turned out, but that isn't the point of the post. Anway it's a strong table, 30 left, 18 get paid: Table 12 - 400/800 Ante 100 - No Limit Hold'em - 0:04:26 ET - 2007/02/20 Seat 1: SB (18,473) Seat 2: BB (18,215) Seat 3: HERO (11,426) Seat 4: UTG+1 (25,671) Seat 6: MP (23,995) Seat 7: Hi-jack (12,034) Seat 8: Cut off (14,140) Seat 9: Button (20,226) mjorgenson13 antes 100 BB antes 100 the HERO antes 100 UTG+1 antes 100 MP antes 100 Hi-jack antes 100 Cut-off antes 100 Button antes 100 SB posts the small blind of 400 BB posts the big blind of 800 The button is in seat #9 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to the HERO [ ] HERO: ?? I think there's arguments here for making a standard open raise (2000-3000), for limping with the plan to push if someone raises and also for open shoving. I think i'm more inclined to standard raise though and if we get called be prepared to shove any flop as open raising looks stronger than shoving. Thoughts?

I'm actually not sure that footage is real, there's no copying and pasting going on in the vid (that i could see anyway). Not saying it didn't happen but it's quite possible that footage is shot by cardplayer specifically to back up their cliam - you never really get a look at the fella who's doing the alleged larceny.

Hi Simon, At the Luton Xmas Cracker Main Event I saw you taking copious amounts of notes at the table using pen and paper. I'm guessing this was poker related and not a shopping list Three questions on this: 1) Could you shed any light on what you were writing down (not specific info but was it tells/betting patterns etc) and also what you weren't writing down. 2) Any chance of giving us an example of a hand where this information helped you, perhaps where it made what would've been a tough decision a standard decision. 3) This was the first time I’ve seen you play live, is this note taking something you always do? If it's a sporadic occurrence do you find that your results differ when you do/don't take notes. many thanks in advance for any reply.

wow am i really the only one not happy with 11 handed play? I know its easy to say coz i am in but if i had just missed out on the registration then i would be gutted but i would accept it. 11 handed makes a hell of a difference. Oh well! KingPoker It's certainly not ideal as it IMO takes away a fair amount of room for creative play early doors, but fully understand why the APAT have done this. It might even be a blessing in disguise as having to (potentially) tighten up to begin with may stop me going broke in the first hour!

always...and I mean ALWAYS record any interviews you do with the press in this country. Jesus, you live in the coutry of tabloids but still trust the media not to make stuff up? Reporters don't know the subject they are writing about 9 out of ten times.
BTW..there's nothing you can do about it without any proof. You could ask to see her notes (if she didn't make a recording) but that's it.
As a fellow journalist Boldie is correct, if the journalist wasn't using a dictaphone then she'd have been taking notes in shorthand (shorthand is a mandatory requirement for all newspaper reporters, you can't get a job without it). You're required to keep these notes for at least two years. Shorthand can be used as evidence in court (and has been) whereas a dictaphone recording can't. No harm in writing a letter of complaint, but don't be suprised if it does more good than bad. They'll probably print it and in the reply the editor/reporter will just make you look worse.
