I like your idea to take him to the cinema. You have no idea how much he is being bullied 'off-line' and what kind of things might be happening to him. Most children who get bullied are very secretive about it. Give him a chance to open up to you in a comfortable an informal setting.

Telling his parents is probably a good idea but let him know if you plan to do that and get his involvement if you can. The more he is in control of how this is handled the better.

I wrote an article a while back. It's aimed at parents but you might find it useful. It's on how to talk to your child about bullying.: http://www.bullyingfullstop.co.uk/html/bullying_advice_for_parents.html

My mate started out as a game tester. Now he is lead designer for the Grand Theft Auto games.

Wow, indeed. Apparently, the speaker got arrested and his house searched by police.

I wish he had just stuck to the facts rather than giving his emotional opinions on the matter.

Bipolar disorder is when someone gets excessively happy and excessively sad - that's all.

not quite that simple

Do you have an alternative definition?

Try this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bipolar_disorder

From your link:

"is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a category of mood disorders defined by the presence of one or more episodes of abnormally elevated mood clinically referred to as mania or, if milder, hypomania."

The words are fancier, I'll give you that Wink

"Judge, my client is very happy right now, surely this should excuse him from the death penalty?"

They've recovered it:

It's in 3 pieces now. 5 men have been detained.

I'm a big fan of placebo. The really cool thing is you can give someone a placebo without 'tricking' them. i.e. "Take this placebo and you'll get better". Give them placebo+ and they'll get better even faster.

Just use tap water and save 4 million quid.

I read this article in New Scientist a while ago which seems to indicate that Homeopathy might not be entirely bollocks:
http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg18524911.600-13-things-that-do-not-make-sense.html?page=2

This is the bit that sold me:

"And it remains true that no homeopathic remedy has ever been shown to work in a large randomised placebo-controlled clinical trial."

I don't think that evolving means becoming more similar to us. It'd be fun if other apes were evolving telepathy without us knowing about it - then we wouldn't be able to do a pre-emtive strike and kill them all off before we became pets.

Finally someone with a brain has turned up and figured the whole thing out.

If he is then what's he trying to tell us?

That he's so confident in his argument that he can only ambush an unprepared protester & overwhelm her with unsupported 'facts' and tricks of language? Well whoop dee do that's me in the denial camp now - those that believe in climate change don't have the skill to do that.

If he was to talk directly to camera few people would listen or believe him. By having the audience direct their attention to the protestor he gets his point across unconsciously to the viewer. He is saying to look up some evidence rather than just believing in something because other people believe it.

I particularly enjoyed the bit where he tells us not to trust him but to look up the data instead. This is a wonderful way to get folk to trust you Smiley

Is anyone else watching this? I'm thoroughly enjoying it. First episode just seems like silly fun but there's some great character development later on.

A bunch of young offenders get some super powers. Think Hancock but for neds.
