Just seen the new year update Doobs.
I started the year weighing 15st 2lb, having put on near 5kg over the Xmas period Plan is to get down to around 13st 7lb
Currently training for 2 half marathons in March, longest run so far 8.3 miles
How are you doing on this? Think a half marathon is beyond me. Maybe 10k is feasible in a few months? One of my friends is doing a full marathon and was up to 19 miles in the rain. Can't imagine doing that. Think this is why I am struggling with running. I don't mind running when it is spitting, but no interest in spending 3 hours outside when it is chucking it down! Just seen this Doobs. Got upto 13 miles 5 weeks ago, then did 14 miles, 10 days ago. I'm just a slow plodder, too old and too many injuries to run quick anymore. I also avoid running in the rain if I can. It's always heavy rain atm and takes days to dry the shoes out. Did a proper half marathon on Sunday. Brutal hill between mile 2 and 3. The steep downhill was hard on the quads and feet. Sore feet from mile 8 slowed me up. In my traing runs my last 3 miles are always the quickest. Finished in 2hr 21 mins

I've never watched a "Box Set" or any of that crap in my life. After I got my posh new Telly, with NetFlix & all that stuff, I somehow allowed Tom to talk me into watching the Sopranos. Oh my, how good was that? And I was only 25 years late. So that was 6 Series & 86 episodes. Click to see full-size image. |
I finished that, & then he forced me to watch Breaking Bad. Incred. Loved the characters, & soon, like Jesse Pinkman, I was adding "yo" to the end of every sentence. Pretty sure the checkout girls at Tesco were impressed. Here's my ClubCard, yo. So that was 5 seasons & 56 episodes. Click to see full-size image. |
Finished that & it's then mandatory to watch Better Call Saul. 6 seasons, 63 episodes. So so good, crisp dialogue, great acting & characters. Click to see full-size image. |
I mean, how good is this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rArzMrhTxF8 Better Call Saul much better than Breaking Bad IMO

Absolute boxing lesson from Leigh Wood tonight - he seems to be getting better.
Just got back from the Billam-Smith fight, but will def be watching that tomorrow. Made up for CBS, seems like such a genuinely nice chap. Weird from Okolie, and can only think he got hurt early, as he was doing anything to avoid fighting until the very last minute. See one of the Judges on the take, scoring it a draw

Not updated this for ages My aim for this year is to complete a couple of half marathons, early autumn
On 1st May I did the Burgess Hill (West Sussex) 10k. Only realised 2 weeks before that this was mostly through fields, it used to be a road race. Due to the wet weather this year the course was very boggy and your feet were regularly sinking in the mud..lol Calf tightened up considerably half way round so didn't push it Completed it in about 1h 8m Obviously a lot harder than running on the treadmill

Miami V Chiefs in Frankfurt has to be my highlight from the INT games this season
think the tickets will be harder to get than a golden ticket from willie wonka though
Yeah, impossible We tried last year, no chance unless you wanted to shell out serious money

Did 6 miles on the treadmill today. Took it easy first half to ensure I could do the 6 miles. Was 71m 25s for the 6 miles. First time I have run that far in probably a few years. Last time running regularly I was around the hour mark for 6 miles, so will aim for that long term
Latest 6 mile run yesterday was 64m 40s First 2 mile pace is getting quicker, i.e. getting up to pace. Prob need to drop another half a stone to get in under 60mins 6.1 miles (10k) in 59m 38s Defo in the red zone last 5 minutes Joints and legs felt fine, heart and lungs not so much..lol

For anyone who wants to make 2% virtually risk free on their money in the next 4-6 weeks can lay man utd at 50/1 to win the league on bf which is literally stealing money. They will probably be beat mathematically and your money returned by the end of April. Man City would have to be relegated with a points deduction and Arsenal turn into Everton overnight and it probably still wouldn't cop.
If they win out they have 88 points (87 effectively for winning the league purposes as their GD is so shockingly inferior). Doubt 87 points would win the league this year. Sporting index has arsenal and man citys points both in for 85-86 plus they are still fighting on all four fronts. They do have a very easy run in with both games are done against Liverpool, Ars and City. There only really tough games left are spurs and newc away and Chelsea at home.
Man City got Ars Liverpool and Chelsea at home. Nothing tough away. Arsenal got Man city Newcastle and Liverpool away and Chelsea at home. A chat group friend who bets football for a living makes them 750/1 to win the league on his stimulations so only sheer weight of money and delusion that they are actually playing as well as their league position suggests which they arent on Xg data makes them this crazy price.
Cheers Arb. I've actually made the most profit on manure backing them in games this season. Still giving my manure supporting mates plenty of grief over Sunday mind

Yes I was just coming onto the scene when all this happened. I didn't know the Vegas staking thread was alongside the BoB. Didn't somebody think to suggest playing 2/5 instead of selling 50% for 5/10 Rats were being smelt at this time surely... At least everyone got paid in the end. Blatch still lives with/near his parents I believe. Still see his name on the cricket boards in the summer months

Glad you're enjoying the rivival guys! I am too. Enjoying a return to form also.
I have squeaky bum time scheduled in for 12pm local time: Day 3 of the Wynn Million Championship Event, 157 left, 134 paid, $8.4k min cash and $650k ftw. I have 22bbs which is bottom 20. Superb structure 90 min levels, which means the bubble could last a little while. And a 2.5buyin min cash means I can't do much without a big hand. Plan is AA > AKo hand one to ease the tension. Updates on pokernews.
Been enjoying playing cash at the Wynn, from 10/20 to 25/50/100. I've been torn between locking up a nice winning trip by playing soft 10/20 or pressing by playing tougher but bigger. Mainly opting for the former, especially on the days off between tournament days, when it can mess with your mindset.
Good luck for the tourney. The old adage of you win money from bad players, rather than clashing with good ones fits well here, particularly as you have tourneys on the go too.
