1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Sky Poker UKPC 6-Max @ DTD is on telly tonight. on: April 17, 2014, 01:03:44 PM
I'm with Trigg, I can't beat live six max either...

Still, looks an outstanding schedule. Mini main event a great idea and nice to see the PLO guarantee has doubled - word of how soft it was must have spread...

Congrats to all involved, looking forward to it

The matter has been handled and we will not be posting hand histories and participating in public post mortems.

The £1000 seats have been awarded to the 2 players that finished 11th and 12th in satellite.

Cheers ACES

Hi Simon.

I think you are a great card room manager and I regard you as a friend.

But I think you are very wrong on this.

Two popular and respected members of this forum have banned from ipoker and your cardroom.

I think it's only fair - if they want to argue the case - that the hands in question are open to scrutiny of this forum.

If they accept the findings, fair enough. Lock up the thread and let's get on with playing cards.

I know nothing about what's happened here but I know a little about the process in general.

Hand histories are only 1 element to an investigation like this and so posting them here would not prove anything. There are a range of elements considered and I think it's clear why the complete process and findings wouldn't be posted on a public forum

I understand this. And I'm not suggesting the full details of the inquiry are put on this thread.

Simon and Rob can obviously ban who they want from their card room.

But as this is out in the open on a forum where Mili and Guy are both members, they are entitled to use the evidence they have to try to defend themselves if they wish.

A few hours seems very quick to come to the conclusion they were colluding.

I am friendly with both sides of this case and wish it had never happened.

But now it's out in the open, the guys accused are entitled to be able to defend themselves.

Fair enough and given the fact the players will have access to the hand histories they can post them if they wish but I think Simon's stance is correct.

Hand 1 - would definitely recommend just calling the flop raise. You can assume your flush outs are dead and that you have no fold equity. Just take one off in position hoping to make a straight. Wouldn't expect your equity to be great if you get all in here - your hand looks better than it is given the action

Not had it done at the belfry but been for something similar at Wentworth and enjoyed it. I have a very good recommendation if anyone is closer to London and is looking to get this done.
which clubs did u try out and what clubs did u buy as a result of the sesh

Tried pretty much everything - ended up with a set of titleist AP2s. I'm circa 18 handicap trying to get to around 12

For me, yes

Eg in the Vic last week I was streaming Sky via 4G beautifully (wifi in there was rubbish). Over 3G previous experience has been much more clunky in the same place. Worth noting I am comparing across networks as I did switch, but even so I would recommend

I've heard of 3, Carlton, Addlington and Davis.

I would have been upset if i knew more than that, thankfully 2 are sports persons and one is Carlton Banks so i escape shame.

Didn't you have a bit of a thing for Rebecca if memory serves me right?

I'm no ICM pro but i've played a few sats. With 2 prizes this feels like a call to me....

Can someone confirm what start day the winners of these packages will play, or will they be offered a choice?

Thanks

I'd consider disconnecting on the river. Makes for an easier decision.
14  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: WHY PROS ALWAY SAY " FIELD IS SO SOFT" on: October 22, 2013, 06:08:48 PM
If poker comp are only design for PROS only , I bet there will be not many pros will survived in poker industry . So pros helping pros will become pros stacking pros .

Completely the opposite. Bigger the tournaments more fish want to play them so they remain soft.

As an aside this g'teed tournament stuff, i see a lot of pros trying to be clever and keeping overlays quiet. This is the most backward/short term thinking it really grates me.

If i run a casino and make a ballsy g'tee and then hear people are running about keeping it quiet do you think i will do the same again? No. We should run about drumming up punters so next time the g'tee is even bigger.

Anyone running about to keep anything quiet seems to be going the wrong way about things completely

Thread is quite in keeping with the recent hud discussions and seems to highlight the ill feeling/resentment towards pros.

I think a lot of reactions are ott tbh. Professionals are playing for a living which generally makes them winners and better players than the norm and certainly far better than your largely amateur live tournament fields so why wouldnt they describe a field as soft? It doesnt seem to me to be insulting or offensive, usually just an accurate statement.

Its a bit boring that pros get knocked a lot lately. Yes some pros dont conduct themselves perfectly but that happens in all fields and professions. Amateurs behave worse overrall and its not even close.

Interesting discussion frankie. My post wasnt a slight at you btw - hope it didnt come across as one

Good post (even though I'm slightly more in agreement with the opposing view)

Thing that I find the strangest is pros playing day 1a of a tournament (especially one that has a guarantee) and wanting to spread the word about what a great field it is to other pros. You don't really get cash game players tweeting "what an awesome cash table at XYZ, come get it or miss out" kind of thing
