Ha, that's funny. The real Raoul Moat was considered a "funny guy" by many, though I didn't think he was Raoul Moat-ly funny myself Smiley

edit: spelling of 'Raoul' (was 'Raul')..

Anon had a betfred logo on right ?

Bet their well pleased with the publicity  Wink
I'd be shocked if Betfred actually sponsored this person not quite sure why he was wearing the shirt tbh lol

I thought it was quite ironic how he wanted to be anon but was wearing a sponsored shirt with his name in big letters on the back.

Maybe the irony is lost in my twisted sense of humour?
I'm guessing the guy in question isn't considered to be the sharpest tool in the box? Wink

This is going to sound a bit weird, but feck it, I'll post it up anyway lol.

My reason for viisiting this thread is that I had a dream last night that xx won a poker tournament, and his friend xx also final tabled. I had no idea the dtd event was taking place, but when I saw Barry Carter's facebook post with a link to this article: http://uk.pokernews.com/news/2011/06/man-wins-poker-tournament-at-dusk-till-dawn-6693.htm I visited this thread to see if there were any more clues (there is-ish).

Well, I guess that's only weird if I'm right with my dream (though, from reading some of the above, I have a real feeling I am). If I'm not, then it's not weird at all obviously - well aside from having a dream about a poker game. Cheesy

Betfred used to sponsor a fairly well known player (though the deal only lasted a couple of weeks before it was withdrawn for some reason?).

thought u were dead?

lol! I've given up playing poker, aside from the odd team event for the craic. Semi-retired now, I spend most my time on the golf course Cheesy

Have you ever gone over the speed limit barry?

3 DUI's in a year is INSANE.
How do you even get 3 in a year? Surely: 1st time = ban. 2nd time (dui + driving without license) = prison? 3rd time (dui + driving without license + on the run from prison) = 20 year stretch (or the death penalty?)

I assume that's the end of the dtd updates now the golden chippers are out?

Thank god for the blonde updates! The official dtd ones are absolutely shocking.

lol, interesting interview Smiley

I've played Ade before, and yes of course he is a dick and full of himself, but he's also very entertaining. The game needs more players like him imo.

Val d'Isere / Verbier are both very nice, but pretty pricey (beer = £6 a pint etc, plate of chips = £8).. Salbach Hinterglemm where they hold the EPT Snowfest is cool too. Renting equipment is dead easy. You'll find dozens of places in each resort. Not sure about clothes though? I don't think I've ever seen anywhere that does that.

Altenatively if you're looking to go on the cheap, then Bulgaria is a must. As ridiculously cheap as val d'Isere and the like are ridiculously expensive.

Agree with Delboy re: 2 weeks. Definitely only do 1 week. And lessons are an absolute must if you're a complete beginner. I didn't bother my first time, and snapped my leg, severed tendons, ligaments etc. within 30 minutes of hitting the slope = first flight home and about 9 months until I could walk again!!
72  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Vote for DTD, Blondepoker, Flushy and Grandad in the British Poker Awards on: August 04, 2010, 06:35:30 PM
I'm loving the fact that a league I used to sponsor "Live Poker League" has been nominated for "Best Poker League"  despite shutting down in early 2009 (it was taken over by Redtooth Poker league, but a lot of the venues ended up defecting to Bristol Poker League).

Still, hopefully as a nominee I can attend the party and enjoy the free hospitality Smiley

Would be hugely funny if a non-existent league actually won the award. Maybe I should start rallying for votes?...

Good luck with this. I've just started running, and the times you are posting look pretty impressive to me. 50mins would be very good I think, but quite possible probably.

I'm not going to prop bet you though as 3/1 seems quite high (I'd put some down on evens)

Just back from playing 2 rounds at The Players in Bristol (an extremely hard par 72 course). Played a bowmaker comp in the morning, where our team scored 88 stableford points (I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but we seemed to be birdieing all over the place, so I'm guessing good?).

My shot of the day was hitting a 135 yard 7-iron off the fairway on a S.I. 1, Par 4, into wind, into the hole(!) for a net albatross and hole-in-one! That was my best, and most satisfying golf shot ever! (the previous was a 95 yard fairway PW to in-the-hole) Get in Smiley

I think, as John Inverdale says every time he's on telly discussing golf, that's what makes golf so addictive. You can play a horribly shit round, but then hit such a peach of a shot that would have been at home in the US Masters, that you keep coming back for more. I know I do anyway! Smiley

Going to check the Peak Performance golfswing thing now. Would be great if they had an iphone version so you could take it with you to the range.

It is downloadable to your iPhone Smiley
Awesome. Thanks Neil. I'll get on to that right away Smiley

edit: I can't find it in the appstore. Is there somewhere else I have to download it from?

edit again: Found it now.
