Jules does it again! He calls an all-in preflop for 63k from Shane Reihill with 55. Shane flips AK. Jules hits quads!! Knocking Shane out in 7th for £4,500. Will get the chip counts in 9 mins at the break... Quick update on my AKs vs Luke P's AKs 200k pot. The flop was actually a rainbow, and Luke hit runner, runners to fill up his flush!! Even more of a bad beat than I thought I tried to talk him in to a Vincent Mellin act of genorousity, but he was having none of it lol

Very next hand and Jules Adamson (my tip for the title) doubles up off David Lloyd. Jules raises to 24k with AQ. David puts Jules all-in (70k), and Jules calls feeling committed. An Ace falls, doubling Jules up to 140k, and leaving David with less than 20k. Chip stack updates to follow... Jeez, this is hard work!! Very tricky to keep asking people how the hand happened when they are in the middle of the next hand - hence the sketchy detail with regards to where the Ace fell

Yes please Jacket Man, we will take you up on that Live Update offer!
Here we go then Jim Kerrigan is out in 9th place, but he's on the phone, so I don't know how he went out lol Edit: Just asked the tourney director. All in pre-flop Jim has AQ, David J Lloyd has 66. Flop comes 3 diamonds, (Jim has a diamond). Turn comes 6. River comes 3 to match the 3 on the flop and give David a Full House. Jim gets £2,700 and has been on the phone ever since

I am sat right next to the final table drowning my sorrows, so can provide a blondepoker Live Update special if anyone is interested?... (I just have to get everyone's names first ) Down to 10 players, everyone agreed a £1500 consolation prize to the 10th place. Greekfish busted out in 10th, and as the two minnows on the table previously, we agreed a 10% cut in each other. £150 then.. Ker-ching

I'm out, and absolutely and utterly gutted lol I had 150k chips and chip leader by at least 30k chips. There are 14 runners left, and the average stack is around 65k. Then comes the fateful hand... I get dealt AK of clubs in early positon. First to act (Luke Patten) raises to 9k. I count his chips and estimate them at 65k or so, so raise another 30k. Everyone else folds, and he goes all-in. Turns out he has another 65k+ and once everyone else has folded round to him, he chucks em all in. I think he has one of a range of hands - in order of likeliness: AK, AQ, AJ, Pair QQ>99, absolute bluff. Weighing up all the options, I decide I have to call, leaving me with a minnow stack of 15k or so. Luke flips AK of hearts... The assembled crowd say "After all that!! A split pot!!!?!" Flop comes 2 hearts and a black card. Turn comes a diamond, and Luke says "ah split pot". Then, in a moment of genious I decide to Bokk myself big-stylee saying "actually, no. A heart on the river would win it for you." I don't need to write the rest lol Still, a great event, and loads of fun. Just wished I'd held on when I had 150k. There was no reason to get involved in any pot for 2 hours or more, and I'd have made the final table with 100k easily. Look forward to the next festival at The Western. Congratulations to Geoff, Philip, all the dealers, catering and all the rest of the Western crew for an incredible event. Tonights winner will recieve £35,000 plus an added value ticket of $8,500 for the Jonny Chan Invitational in The Turks & Caicos Islands. Lucky bastard!

Blimey.., I donked away a load of chips and got down to 25k. Everyone was stealing my blinds left, right and centre Then, going all-in pre-flop for 25k, and trying to look like I'm on tilt, with AKs, I get a call with AQo. Flop TT3, Turn 3 River...... K A few hands later and I'm back up to 65k. Chip leader on my table. Still 23 runners left - in 2 hours we lost just 1 runner!

Kev - If you are not in Barcelona why have we not seen you down here this week? I had arranged with George and Derek to freeroll you for all the events, I had a teenage model in the hotel for you and a chauffeur driven limo to take you to the nightclubs after. Johnny Chan was going to take you back to Vegas as his minder and you would have lived your life surrounded by poker and gorgeous women -still never mind -you will always have Colchester.
That scream you just heard was me as i launched myself off the top of a local multi storey car park !!!!!! Im glad things went well for the fessie Geoff ... It really is a top venue. Im sure this has put the Western firmly on the map and signals a bright future for the place. I will be returning ASAP ... Keep me updated on all future comps and events, and my money is on Ian woodley to win the main event... By the way Matt Dale ..How many chips ?? must be a missprint LOL he should stick to western Roll LOL Here's my mini report of events so far. I won my way in to the main event from a £180 satellie, so that was pretty cool. As for the main event, I was down to 7.5k after less than 60 minutes (15,000 starting chips) after I was repeatedly dealt AKs and missed the flop, turn, and river, and was unable to bluff my way out of it. However, with this excellent structure, 7.5k is still a hell of a lot of chips when the blinds are still only 50/100. After that, I started to hit my hands, and due to all the missing to begin with, got paid off a lot of the time. Managed to knock Stuart Nash out too, though he was only short stacked... My biggest stack of the day was 63k, but I got caught bluffing on the last few hands of day one. Got called by middle pair and lost 10k or so. However, I've found a new secret weapon - a lucky mango! Chan might have his Orange, but my mango really was the business yesterday Speaking of which, I've only gone and left it in the bloody hotel - meaning a £20 taxi there and back to pick it up!! Doh! Anyway, excellent festival, and I love the structure! Hope to see more of you here for the next one

ps-did anyone get into the monkey island adventure games on the Amiga??
Yes, I played number 1 and 2. Great games Has anyone played Gitaroo Man? It's a fairly new game (well 3 or 4 years old) for the PS2, that I bought for a friends daughter, but ended up playing it all the time myself! Most fun game ever I think! Also, those dance mat things are a great laugh, especially after a few beers

Great game/toy I used to have was called Crossfire. A game where you had to shoot metal ballbearings at an air-hockey type disk thing and score in the opponents goal. Excellent Toys these days seem so much more advanced. Here's one I bought yesterday - a golf simulator lol - it won't arrive until June though. I also had a 48k Spectrum. Many an evening spent playing Daley Thompson's. I was more a fan of the OPOPOPOPOPOP method than the NMNMNMNMNM one though. Whilst repeating the phrase 'readybrek, readybrek, readybrek, readybrek, readbrek' I was able to clear quite a height on the Pole Vault (it's all about timing you see ) Jet Set Willy and Chuckie Egg were other favourites.
