Tikay as soon as I read that someone has said something is not an investment because it is not of intrinsic value is enough to make me shake my head. Buffet has been successful for a long time but it has been made clear that for a while we have been entering the data era. Data is going to be if not already the most influential and powerful "thing". It can be used to influence our spending habits, our political decisions and education.
Buffet understands investing in stocks, profit and loss and business better than anyone on the planet, but now that we have reached another revolution he has become a dinosaur. Fair play to him though, he has been right many times and proved people wrong very often, but the fact he doesn't see the value of bitcoin is staggering. It is the most under-rated technology that I've ever seen, and it's right in front of everyone's nose.
When very innovative things happen we begin with the hard core innovative and enthusiasts, then will follow smart people, then will follow people that listen to smart people, then will follow the hoards. Even very stubborn and stupid people end up being part of a revolution (see: the internet).

I can't speak for the super high stakes, if there were an introduction of people who owned bitcoin way back when, then that would be the reason for a boom in those fields.
As for mid to high stakes, I can only imagine people who were just there to make money have likely dropped off and that if bitcoin were to not go up in price for a long time or drop off, then we would very likely see an increase in field sizes at mid to high stakes, as well as the quality of those fields improving.

Gooner why would you care about people making money through scams in cryptocurrency? Who drives the money behind regulators and what makes crypto special for scammers? It is very silly to think that scamming is ripe in crypto, it is however new. If everyone stops letting people holding their own money then crypto is already the most trustworthy transfer and store of value.
Perhaps we should regulate Nigerian princes too? They were ripe and that scam probably netted a group of people some money.

I found out the game was cancelled from a friend and not the hospitality team. In our comms I was sent a booking form but no T&C. The booking form says that T&C are available at request and after some digging the T&C are also available on the website. Further comms: Hi Matt,
Two questions I forgot to ask on the phone. Are drinks included and is this match subject to change time/dates?
Regards,
Daniel
Hi Dan,
Drinks are not included in this package. A cash bar will operate in the Legends Lounge with table service.
We have not had the TV games published yet but I have also not had any news that this fixture will change so as far as I’m aware it will remain on the 17th Match – 3pm

Next month I'm flying to England as I've arranged a weekend away for 7 other Dutch chaps to the gold cup in cheltenham followed by hospitality @ Leicester FC the following day. Originally we wanted to go to Wembley to see Spurs but that game was postponed and we therefore settled for Leicester/Arsenal. I contacted a chap who deals with hospitality and told him the story how we had been denied our chance to go to Wembley but that we were grateful that there was a table left in hospitality for Leicester! Lo and behold, this game has now been postponed and when I sent an email to the chap at hospitality I received this: Good morning Dan, thank you for your email.
The game has been re-arranged but I am just waiting to find out the new date for this fixture.
Your hospitality tickets will still stand for this re-arranged date.
We sadly do not offer a refund for matches that have been re-scheduled.
Thanks again Quite obviously this is a massive spanner in the works and I would have been very grateful if I had known it was non-refundable when I called Matt last month and explained my original dilemma, it might have been a good time for him to say that as I would have never have bought. This is perhaps an oversight on my half as I just completely assumed you would have the chance for a refund. I have booked 8 non-refundable flights and 4 hotel hotel rooms for 3 nights which aren't refundable either. The football was the highlight (and the most expensive part) of the trip. Any advice on how to approach this with the manager of hospitality of any ideas of how to recoup some funds would be very much appreciated.

At the time of typing this message the top 1000 addresses own 35.04% of all bitcoin and top 10000 56.44% respectively. Note that I said addresses and not people since it is possible for someone in the top 1000 to own two addresses.
I would say that the fact that some people own a lot of bitcoin has very close to zero reason why bitcoin is so swingy. You sometimes see 1000btc buy and sell walls (and often get obliterated) on the bigger exchanges. As of September last year around 1600 addresses owned 10k btc or more, if these sorts of addresses were to dump their btc on to the exchanges then you would probably see a bit of price movement.
The reason for such big swings is because bitcoin isn't tangible to a company that releases it's profit and loss. It is much easier to evaluate a company on the stock exchange and therefore the agreed value on such stocks have a much lower range. Bitcoin is a completely new technology and despite everyone who wants one agrees it has some value, that value is purely determined on market sentiment! New scary technology + no price tangibility + relatively low market cap + FUD and FOMO able to spread so quickly because it's 2018 = EXTREME volatility.
Until we see bitcoin replace gold and we start to see market sentiment become somewhat irreversible for a long period of time, we can expect volatility to be extreme.
