Poker Forums / The Rail / blonde Live Update - The Vic 5k Main Event
|
on: August 02, 2005, 07:30:39 AM
|
This looks like being a smashing comp, many of the leading Europeans are already in London, and this should attract a field of similar quality to last weeks WPT.
It's a 3 day affair, and plans are in hand to do a full Live Update. Hopefully - fingers xx'd - Jen will be in the chair & in charge, so don't forget to tune in, beginning Friday at 9pm, & continuing at 3pm on Saturday and the Final at 4pm on Sunday.
A few blondeiites playing it too!

This is First-Class Feedback, and is EXACTLY why we posted it - do please keep the responses coming.
As I suggested, the site layout and design is a work-in-progress, & certain changes are in train, but your feeback so far will help us enormously.
It falls, largely, to Rhow & Dave to look after the design & tech side, so you will be doing them, & blondepoker, a big favour if you keep this stuff coming.
Thanks. Together, we can make this site the business!

Poker Forums / The Rail / Profiles of blondeites
|
on: August 02, 2005, 07:05:24 AM
|
We now have around two dozen Player Profiles on the Main Site, and we will be adding 2 or 3 a week for the foreseeable future. These are, in the main, the more well-known players. But we'd rather like to have Profiles of the regular blondeites, the girlies and geezers that we see posting on blonde Forum - that means YOU. So why not write a Profile of yourself, and send it to either tikay@blondepoker.com, or via PM to me? If you can include picture(s), all the better, but don't worry if you can't. What should you include? Well, that's up to you, but look at it this way. We regularly read posts by blondeites, but many of them are just "names", we don't really know anything about them, an it'd be cool if we did. So, ideally, include..... How Long Playing Poker Where you play, what Casino, what Online Cardrooms, & aliases. Family / domestic situation, married, single, age. If you've got kids, wife/hubbie, names, ages, & pics if possible. Job Biggest win/most notable poker achievement, most notable non-poker achievement. Hobbies apart from poker Pets? How many, what, names? Anything else you'd like to include. Maybe the poker players you most admire, the Football Team you support, that sorta stuff. None of those items are mandatory, but you get the drift. We will put all of them up on the Main Site, and hopefully, in the months to come, we should be able to gather quite a collection. And it WILL help everyone else, to be able to "picture", so to speak, a particular blondeite. I'm rather looking forward to this!

Poker Forums / The Rail / The blonde Roll of Honour
|
on: August 01, 2005, 04:37:29 PM
|
We want to start a new thingymajig, "The blonde Roll Of Honour". It will be on the Main Site, and will be a Permanent Feature with it's own section.
"blonde Roll of Honour".
The idea is that any blondeite who achieves a significant achievement would be nominated to the bROH. So, for example, we would - or in this case, I would - nominate these, as an example....
Brian Wilson - first blondeite to win a bracelet.
Roland De Wolfe - first blondeite to win a WPT event in 2005. (I think).
Dave Colclough - for being elected to The Hall of Fame.
But....and this is key - it is NOT limited to big names. So, for example, we would add to the list, maybe.....
Ironside for being the Scottish Irish Champion.
The geezer who finished 18th last week in Paris and donated 50% of his winnings to Peter Heighway, the Bubble Boy.
Anyone who wins a decent online comp.
Or wins his first ever Live Comp, even if it's "only" a 10 jobbie.
Or makes a TV Table.
Or performs a particular act of kindness or generosity - maybe Harry D for his efforts to raise money at the Game4Life Charity Ball.
And so on, & so forth.
Get the drift? Worth pursuing? Let me know, because I'd like to do it. We would list the nimonation, together with some wordy bits.
And continuing that theme (see, we WERE busy last week...), how about a humorous antidote to the bROH - The blonde Roll of Shame (bROS).
For example,
Brian Wilson, the first blondete Bracelet Winnmer to lay down TT to raise from a guy with J-4?
Ironside, for travelling furthest (400 miles, 9 hours) to exit within 3 minutes of a comp starting.
Red-Dog for his "Golden Duck" (first round exit). In fact, we could have a whole section of those just for Ariston!
Am I making any sense? Shall we do it?
OK, I'll get me coat.

Many of you may not have noticed, but Team Blonde were very busy beavering away behind the scenes during the last week, & we have now gone live with our new Main Site Design. How could you NOT notice, whether you like it or not? Well, the fact is, many of you never visit our Main Site. This is a shame, because there is a growing collection of stuff over there - some of it's even (marginally) readable and interesting..... So, what we'd like you to do is take a look at it, & let us now what you think. It's a work-in-progress, & there are still over 40 design changes due to be implemented in the next few weeks. But we WOULD ask you a favour, we need to know what you like about it, & what you dislike. A few positive comments would be nice, but they don't actually help much, apart from boosting the ego a tad. But negative comments, provided they are constructive, ARE important, and serve a vital function - namely, they help us to improve the site. So come on guys, let us know what you think. I'm off to The Vic now, and will take a look at your comments later, and I cant deny I shall be nervous when I take a look at what you might say.....But your opinion IS important, so good or bad, off you go, let rip! Our aim, effective now, is to upload at least one new article every day, and a Player Profile every other day. Oh, this is where you need to start..... http://www.blondepoker.com/

Ironside's post hits the nail on the head, that's EXACTLY the problem I have at the momernt.
So I'm gonna be brave tonight, and empty my entire PM Inbox, which will solve the prob if Ironside is right. (Is he ever wrong?).
"tikay too busy to post on here now"? Ouch! OK, meant in jest, but it did hit a nerve......
I got a bit overloaded last week what with one thing and another, but I am back now, & am getting caught up slowly. I expect to be up to date by Wednesday. Rumours suggest that "Another site" (PLEASE, no names) forgot it's Members, & look what happened. It won't happen here.

Yeah Adam, you are not far wrong, but then you are a player, whereas that WSOPin06 fella, he's just a rock. My first job when I get a table move is to suss out the weak player who is going to be easy to push off a hand. When I moved tables on Saturday, I looked round, I saw Mark Williams & Ken Doherty, the 2 snooker geezers, Mad Marty Wilson, Bracelet winner James Vogl, & I'm thinking, "jeez, where am I gonna get my chips from?". Then I spotted Brian. Result!
