Bloody hell - marvellous! For those that don't know, wsopin05 is Brian Wilson, he's a big mate of DC's. Brian used to be in the Beach Boys I think.

We will be sweating you Brian! Looks a class field, but you can ignore Testud, he's French.

Trust Karabiner to know Bruce Corman's Dad. The man's a font of wisdom. Comes with age I hope.

I hve misled a lot of guys by saying they cannot register until 1 hour before the comp, in fact it seems we can register from 8pm on Wednesday, 24 hours ahead. Don't know how I got that so wrong - sorry!

Robert, how you know Imp was from Lincoln?

Ironside - yup, sent password to Ariston and Wolfy.

Welcome Imp. I am surprised you are from the flat plains of Lincoln. I thought you were a hill man.

Ys, very interested. Depends if much is going off in the WSOP (to report/update) but I like Luton, and I quite fancy their 250 Freeze.

Yes, he is, but if you read it carefully, he is flexible enough to change as circumstances dictate. And yes, "texture of the table" is key, as is the sort of cards and flops you are hitting or msising.

Have a plan by all means, but don't set it in stone, it has to be flexible.

Dammit, I just broke a golden rule and (tried to) give poker advice.

Thank goodness for that. I did not fancy trying to explain that one in a PC way. It's a fact though.

Jim R - yes, it may well sell out. Can you get across to Luton and buy in there? If not, call or e-mail me, I will see what I can sort.

Ironside - it's a Grosvenor, but I am sure one of us can sign you in as a guest. An undesirable guest maybe, but a guest.

Great Stuff The Wall.

I just adore the "live interaction" between players, that's pretty much why I enjoy poker so much, win or lose. (Yes, mostly lose before some wise-guy gets it in).

As to a pre-comp game plan, I have tried it, but it just does not work for me. You may be catching cards and hiitting flops, or dry as a bone, loose table or tight, maniac bossing things allowing you to pick up the pieces when he over-reaches. It just never works for me, so I dont set plans now, though of course I set targets in longer competitions.

Does anyone else go in with a fixed, pre-determined game plan? The action is so dynamic, I just can't make it work, & I am not sure it is a good thing, either.

Behave all of you, my family read this. Very smart, my two cats.

Karabiner and Robert HM - STFU.

TightEnd. Ahh, now you are talking.

Gramaphones - yup, remember them.

Ration books - ditto.

Powdered Milk - that too. I notice young ladies these days are far more, "advanced", I fancy dried milk sort of held them back in those days.

Woodbines - my first ever smoke. Boy, did I cough!

If I were not so busy today, I could write a lovely essay on life in the sixties and seventies.

I got Alec Bedser's autograph. Eat your heart out Botham.

Was wondering the same thing Simon, I don't know him, but he has cashed once already. Anyone know this guy?

Johnstone was OK, but not really up to John Arlott's standard.

To hear Arlott commentate when Trueman was bowling, or Statham was weaving his magic, or the Bedser twins were doing their thing. Happy memories.
