Seriously though Thai food is very difficult to make look bad!

Perhaps Cos post's a recipe and we all try it?

Good idea.  Count me in.

More often than not, I'll add a chilli or two in as well.

Ahh that'd have worked well in the parsnip one for sure.

Definitely.  Perks up butter nut squash soup as well.  One of the favourites in this house with some crispy sage sprinkled on top.

What ever happened to you real Mom?  My apologies if you've either mentioned her before or would rather not discuss.  Hand history aside, I'm with the many who have really enjoyed your reminiscing over the last few pages.

Thought you didn't 'do' birthdays?  Even more surprising was reading a hand history in your diary...that YOU posted.  WTF?!

Anyway, Happy Tuesday Tikay Smiley   disco

The All Ireland hurling between Clare and Cork ended in a draw. Cracking game.
Clare were in front all the way, Cork edged in front right at the end and Clare equalized with virtually the last touch.
GAA get what they want again, same as last year, blatant cheating from the Ref so they get a replay and more coin.
Where were u prematch?! Let's remember to back the draw next year, all for fixing it if we're on!
What you on about?

I'm on about u saying this game was drawn because the GAA and the ref contrived it....if that was the case we coulda/shoulda bet the draw no?
Well that's last two years the All Ireland has had one point in it with seconds to go and the Ref has played a major part in them ending in draws.
For what it's worth it's the least Clare deserved but like last year they have probably had their chance.

For the sake of this thread...it's never a bad thing to bet on the draw for any major Irish match.  Draws are a big money maker for the GAA...and it happens regularly.

Clare should've had it won well before the final whistle was blown.  That said, Cork have ALWAYS been a 'second half' team and I was sure they'd come back at them.  Cork did just that and with 2 minutes of OT given, Cork were ahead by one point at the 2 minute mark.  Clare didn't equalise until 2:36 or thereabouts.  Cork were robbed imo.  Granted, they didn't really deserve the win.  Their midfield was pure and utter shite today and very few of their scores were from play.

Bring it on in 3 weeks time.  I reckon Cork are all over it the next day and I'll happily put money on that when I wouldn't today.

Edit - Plus, I forgot to wear me lucky red knickers today.  Won't make that same mistake the next day!  lol

Does anyone know anything about hurling?  I just got a call from a guy i like to talk bets with (not for information as he is even more recreational than i am) and he has been on holiday in Portugal.

Anyway apparently he met up with the Clare team who play Cork on Sunday, they havent beaten Cork for x amount of years (i have forgotten what he said) but they were certain they would win this time, currently best priced at 11/8 :

I didn't think to ask at the time if they were all getting pissed up for the past two weeks or it was a training camp, but i've just sent him a message to ask.  If they were all on a jolly doesn't seem like a good bet to me but he seems absolutely certain that these guys playing will, as they have been telling him, win.

laxie is a big hurling fan think she supports cork or clare can never remember which

Thanks Iron, hopefully she will share some knowledge if she reads this.
sent her a callout on facebook

I'm a die hard Cork fan, but that doesn't mean they're going to win on Sunday.  Both teams have played really well up to now and if they play as well on Sunday, there will only be a couple of points in it when the final whistle blows.

Cork had a massive run during the semi-finals against some very tough teams.  They played an absolute blinder and they also have experience on their side.

Meanwhile, Clare had it a bit easier and was given far too much room by Limerick in the semis.  Cork won't make that same mistake.  Clare's team is very young.  Some would say that means they're inexperienced, but these Lads won the All Ireland Under 21's in 2009 and 2012.  They know what they're doing and they're doing it well.  Young and confident with the skill to back it is a dangerous combo during a hurling final for any opposition.

Horgan is Cork's main points scorer (30% of all scores) and Ryan is Clare's (40% of all scores).  A lot will come down to those two Lads and how they play on the day.

Long story short...as much as I'd love to say Cork have this in the bag, Clare's got a lot going for them too and I'm calling it a coin flip.  Regardless of who wins, it'll be one hell of a match!
