Was DELIGHTED when you both showed me the chips you'd gather in just a few hands at the cash table. Was giggling away mad when they asked you to come back and play some more...poor lads thought they'd win em back off ya. Great news to hear you continued the demolition. Meant to ask how you'd got on when you took them up on the offer, but the Coronas started to kick in.

I played in that comp too Suzanne and we had a guy at our table raising every second hand anywhere from 500 to 1k when blinds were only at 25/50. The other lads at the table didn't look pleased, but the only comment anyone made was, 'So much for a friendly game of cards.' Didn't stop him raising every second hand, in fact he went into overdrive after the comment was made, but we caught him out within 10 minutes. I had QQ and raised it to 250 guy next to me calls, aggressive guy re-raises to 750 and we both call. Flop came all rags and he bet 1k, I re-raised another 1k because I KNEW he hadn't hit. Only problem...while it pushed the aggressive player out, the other guy who was in the pot called the re-raise. Lucky for me, he was a laid back kind of guy and we played it gentle on the turn and river...he had KK in his hand. He was worried I had either AA or a set and I KNEW I was in trouble with me QQ. Lost the pot and was badly short stacked after that, but 'aggressive guy' chilled from then on because he'd been found out and the rest weren't as quick to fold to him anymore. You know how to play the game. I was sat at your table long enough to see it. Your only problem was picking up the cards off the table. Not a big deal in my eyes, but for your own protection, it's better if you don't. Anyone with a friend stood at the rail behind you can see what you have and signal to their friend on the other side of the table. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw you pick up your cards on the night. Was going to say something, but didn't want you to feel uncomfortable. Take no notice of the moody/aggressive players. I reckon they do that to throw everyone off their game anyway. Play it your way and ignore the apes.

Sounds like a fun job, but the salary is rubbish for the right candidate...unless they're desperate for a new car. Pity.

Gettin Jiggy verb. Can mean either dancing or putting the move on a member of the opposite sex. Popularized by the Will Smith song "Getting Jiggy With It" Sometimes you scare me Tikay. Tighty should be proud of himself. Anyone who's seen a Riverdance show knows that Michael Flatly doesn't break a sweat...he lets his support dancers do all the work. I reckon Tighy danced more in that few minutes than Michael does in a whole show...so 'A' for effort!

Chin up...the weather is supposed to get better from this afternoon. At least that's what the farmers told me. Wish I'd made the trip to cheer ye on, but had to stay put for the music festival in our village (ie an obscene amount of pints in one long session...lol). Been checking in now and then and wanted to say BEST OF LUCK from the Cork brigade!!!

Thanks for the support! Not always easy being 'the messenger' but you've asked very valid questions and been fair in dealing with my replies, so I truly do appreciate that.
Cheers!
Regards,
Dawn

From my brief reading of the thread it is my understaning that all the tournaments are online, is this correct?
If it is - Do Betfair vet people when they open an account on the site?
I dont have a betfair account so what is to stop me opening one as a female?
The tour is live. Betfred are hosting online satellites for the live events. There is nothing to stop you opening a 'female' account online which is why they decided it was pointless to try and claim only women were playing them. If a man were to win a seat, he is required to give Betfred the name of the woman he is giving the seat to and the venue she'd like to play at. On the day of the live event, the woman will have to provide photo ID matching the name which was turned in. Not an ideal situation but better than no online satellites at all. All that said and out of the way, when I mentioned this thread to my husband last night, he laughed. For the record, he's against women only comps and you can imagine the fun we have in this house at times. His take on it? 'Are you seriously arguing about who's on the other end of a computer?! What's to stop a man playing on his partner's account? Who's going to prove the woman with the account was the one playing on the night and not a man?' How many of you have met someone from the forum in person and thought to yourself, 'Not at all what I expected'? At the end of the day, Betfred have been forced to throw the arms up and admit there's no way to be sure online, but they will be sure on the day of the live event.

Hi all. It was decided, after a bit of debate, that trying to keep tabs on the runners every night would be too much hassle. The end result...anyone can enter the satellites and anyone can win. If it happens to be a male, they have to transfer the prize to a Woman. I did not go into this intending to lead anyone wrong and was caught for a hop as much as anyone else when I realised anyone can enter the satellites. It was news to me earlier this week as much as it was to everyone else. That said...I'll still play as often as I'm left, I'll still try as much as I have to and I'll still appear at most (if not all) live comps in the tour. I consider the online satellites 'practice' for the big ones. I don't care who's at the other end of the computer...all good in the end. If anyone feels they were mislead, it was not my intention. I am not being paid to promote these. I just go with what information I have in front of me and I believe in the end result. Blind fool? Maybe. Happy? Very definitely yes.
