I absolutely love rebuys. You play tight and try to get a lot of chips.  BUT even if you fail/lose all your races and even if you have around 1000 at end of rebuy period, its still possible to double through a few times with decent hands when the freezeout section begins.

The thing i enjoy most about these tourneys is your potential prize money. Because i only spend about £10 -£15 on average (£5 rebuy) but most people spend about £30 on average this gives me huge value on my investment if i can make a big finish.
7878  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Some Guys playing live are just awful on: August 24, 2006, 09:59:59 AM
I just had to post this one. Funniest moment, i have experienced so far playing live poker.

Chip Leader (30k) and guy with plenty of chips called Jim (8k) at the start of the freezeout section of the £5 rebuy at Leeds Gala.

No one really paying any attention as they check down a board of  Two Clubs and then suddenly it all shoots off as the
hits the river. It ends up with the chip leader going all in and then Jim said "I think we both know the board is ahead here" and makes the call. With  !!!!!!!

The chip leader shows  and as he leaves the whole table breaks out into laughter. I mean he only needed the  three clubs to have him destroyed. Comedy

I'd have folded Le Knave.

Youre doing very well at this stage, and you just know that we can outplay all this lot (at Leeds Gala), so even if you put him on a set, I wouldnt want to see the next two cards with all my chips on the line, when you know that in a few hands, he could be banging it all in with KQ again.

Also, John is not a good and clever player, and we saw him shoot all in with an Ace High Flush at the start of the Freezeout section.

As people have said, you definetly made the correct move and then call on the flop because you had the top set, and on this board, th enuts. You can't have been an underdog.

Personally, im not too sure about your raise pre flop. Your raising $12, just to hit a set of Queens.

Ouch, why did you have to get involved here. Just let him take the odd one down until you get a proper hand. We had one of these at Leeds Gala the other day.

SB raises to 5k, BB raises to 12k (both have around 30k) and SB instantly shoots all in. The BB strangely considers folding before revealing JJ. The SB has A4, and dosent improve.

I believe you got caught by a monster hand or a big ace and should fold, because his hand must be good enough to expect your definetly going to call and then play the short stack game. You then have 2 rounds of blinds to find a hand.
7882  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Did I Play This Wrong? on: August 24, 2006, 09:40:40 AM
The raise pre flop is fair enough, and although after the flop you had an open ended straight draw, you overbet your draws a touch in my opinion (although you might have been trying to semi-bluff) by betting £2.70. Although, when you hit one of your draws, on the turn, you got all your and his money committed with the nuts. Which is excellent.

Then for some reason he calls with two pair and hits a Full House on the river. This happens a lot in omaha so im no tgoing to call it a bad beat, its just bad luck!

7889  Poker Forums / past blonde Bashes / BB3 Questions on: August 20, 2006, 04:27:48 PM
I have a couple of questions regarding BB3. I apologise for opening a new thread but didn't know where to ask.

My problem is that Leeds are playing Wolves on Sunday at 1.15pm.

I Was wondering A) What time the main event has to finish by?  and   B) When/What time is the Heads up Competetion planned to be held?

Thanking you in anticipation
